Finally got my first sale after 4 days of doing this . Definitely in it for the long run . You gotta have that rich mindset but also dedication of never giving up when it gets a lil hard many give up yes but the ones who push through will always prevail!! I've always had that entrepreneur mindset of wanting the best & knowing I deserve the best !! Hopefully I find that product/design that just destroys the competition. I’ve been doing Etsy POD since summer of ‘21, but I’m a SAHM of three and the hours I’ve been able to put into it are limited. I’ve generated over $50K in revenue since starting 2 years ago, but with over $36K of that being designs that I removed in May because I didn’t realize I was infringing on intellectual property 🙈.
However, ever since coming across your channel, life hacker couple, Heather’s, Shawna’s etc., I’ve learned so much more and my shop’s success is growing at a faster rate. đŸ™ŒđŸŒ

This is very useful information. I see where you’re learning curve was longer than had you has retail business, and an artistic background. If I do decided to enter this arena to start my own company I have had classes in fashion and display background in retail, and have looked at what felt were gaps in product lines offering. Fashion has autumn and winter, and spring summer calendars, and once one line is completed the following year in already in process. The the creativity aspect comes into play, as to where the industry is headed or you want push it towards. But you’ve even broken it down more to enhancing your product line in season. I also have designed my own art work for a niche’ T-shirt line. I feel I have a scene that I can offer products for both men and women, since I came up with costume designs for my dance choreography. I have no fear in selecting what women like, or niche’ areas I may not an expert in, but know is trending. But, where you’re strong is the business end. Staying on top of the numbers, which is my weakness, but is essential to maintaining over over head and how your business is trending from quarter to quarter and seasonally.
I might sound cocky, but I’m really not, since I haven’t pursued it, and that’s why this video has been very valuable. The one area I’m wondering about is how much time is spent in maintaining your business. A couple of life times ago a girl I know had started her own dance attire clothing line. And none of what you have available to support your product wasn’t in existence, and had to do all aspects. Shop for fabric, cut her own design patterns and label. Oh, and cut and sew it all herself, then go out and sell it at various venues. No internet ads also lacking since it didn’t exist. I went along to choose her fabric and haul it back to her in house shop. So I became knowledgeable in the quality and types of fabrics there are and why the cost they way they do. Time you don’t get paid for in producing your line back then. She sought other gigs to supplement income by making costumes for stage productions. She put in at times 18 hours a day. I would like to know if you’ve factored your time where you’re spending time producing it. Granted it’s not the same last century to this one, but there are some things that carry over. Those are the unknowns I wish to know.

What do you think is the best option budget wise for someone with limited resources? And is it possible to do both? Like use Etsy to drive sales in your own private store or vice versa?

Congrats on getting started. I know the beginning is hard and takes a long time. Just remember that everyone is on their own journey and to try not to compare too much! Just take it slow and think of the beginning as a learning and testing phase. Find smaller niches that have bestsellers in them and then create your own unique designs to add value for those niches and you’ll do great!

Hi Cassiy, I just found your video and loved it. Thank you so much for being so gracious and selfless and offering to help others. I currently am embarking on my tshirt business. I received my EIN no. last week, purchased domain name, now need to create my LLC and get a registered agent. (I have been a legal secy for 30 yrs so thank god I worked for an atty who formed LLCs for clients etc..) I totally hear you on focusing on the 1 thing at first as I have so many ideas creatively and for years just did not know how to localize my 1 idea and move forward. I finally did it...funny how it came to me whilst laying in bed at 3am all of a sudden my mind was flooded with over 10 funny quotes for tshirts...lol. Anyway just want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for sharing and helping me. Have a great day! (curious.. did you take any of the above legal steps for your business? Truly want to know if I can just start w/out pursuing these for now)

say 2 listings per day, every day consistently. I’ve heard different opinions and it’s confusing. 😳

There is a lot to play around with in even just t-shirts like in this example. You are welcome to do it however you like but these are just my best suggestions and what I wish I would have done instead. I tried lots of different products in the beginning and felt like I didn't really give all of my attention enough to one area until I started focussing mainly just on t-shirts and sweatshirts. Best of luck!

I totally get never trying but you could legit just get started today and try it for fun! I really think anyone can be successful at this and at whatever level they want. One of my sisters just does it every once and awhile when she feels like it and now sold 500 things last year. So she made an extra probably $2,500 - $5,000 last year from just the little bit of work. So you don’t have to go in thinking “this is it!” But if you’re watching this type of content anyways, might as well just give it a little go yourself ❀ I’ve got my new etsy + pod launch guide down in the links for a step by step on starting if you decide to go for it!
