When the swell is up it is much easier to bring the boat onto the beach and dry winch it onto the trailer. This guy was very lucky not to get bogged in the ocean.
It's the golden rule not to trailer your boar on a pushing tide..you should have a vehicle with a winch on so when you beach the boat you load the trailer and then with the boat on...😊😊
That's one way to destroy the resale of your V8 Cruiser. I have successfully retrieved a 1,500kg boat at Cervantes with a 2008 BMW X5 and snatch strap.
There's a lot of reasons. There 1. managed to do it without getting stuck. 2. Most the people were having there own issues if you look at all the abandoned boats on the shore in the background. 3 the way they were doing it was dangerous to anyone who tries to help. 4. It's a common occurrence for people to go out when they shouldn't have due to the experience level. 5 most people weren't wearing swimming gear. In my own experience people will willingly help when asked. Also I previously suffered a severe back injury helping someone in just such a situation, that greatly impacted my abilities work as a self employed fisherman. It took 15 years of 24-7 pain, at least now I don't have the pain but limited in what I can physically do. No insurance no comeback massive financial Impact to my career. So once bitten I don't just jump into every situation.
Ye Peter take your points Also from memory I went to help someone once and slipped on the slimy stuff at the ramp and landed fair on my backside wasn’t good on my back either and guess what the boatie I assisted didn’t even say thanks. I just get frustrated on how some owners load and unload their boats but bottom line you’re right.
Hard to watch isn't it. No sure weather people don't realise how bad salt water is for 4wd or they don't keep them for long so it's the next persons problem?
It’s easy putting the boat in with no wind or swell , but once the wind and swell picks up it’s difficult with even a little tinny by yourself and the trailer in the water, all part of the adventure, few beers doesn’t help either
