She is my HERO, the Chimp's HERO and the world's HERO indeed.I hope she changes the world's view about the importance of LOVE and COMPASSION for our planet and all who live here, including the animals! I'd LOVE to meet her.

She was and is one of my heroes. I watched many an hour of her documentaries, long before there was a National Geographic channel, on PBS back in the day. Jane is such a beautiful human being. Seeing this is at the top of my list.

Just saw this film/documentary on SBS Australian tv and I was deeply moved by it in the end......wonderful editing and brilliant story telling by Jane as well as fabulous photography. Still felt quite sad about the bitter sweet element to this story for both animals and human beings involved.
She seems so natural.

Today it aired in Nat Geo. It was the best documentaries I've ever seen. Totally surprised that her son could speak in animal language. And the human polio destroyed the family of the chimpanzees. So sad to hear about that.

Edgar Burroughs wrote the book “Tarzan of the Apes” in the year 1912, and Jane Porter is a character in his book. The book is really good, one of my favorites! :)
Unlikely, Tarzan was a book that was published in 1912, and Jane herself mentions in the documentary that she read Tarzan.

Just watched the entire film on TV tonight. Great archival footage and hugely interesting.
BUT!
What was Will Digby (Sound Editor) thinking when the soundtrack was mixed? Did he think Jane's commentary too boring? Did he think deliberately muffling the commentary and then almost drowning out the same with "inspiring musac" was a GOOD thing to do.
Yes, I am a little hard of hearing. But I have rarely encountered such an incompetent sound mixing job as this.
Unfortunately this silly trend is all too common these days. Pity...
