solara2 that's a joint north and south Korean meeting room. Obviously the UN oversaw its construction and probably chose Samsung as their ac supplier. I'm sure they have Chinese air condtioning brands in north Korea.
I find it funny that if you go to JSA from the South, you need to go throught several UN checkpoints, you cannot touch anything, even filming is restricted. When you go from the North, there is only one checkpoint and you can pretty much point your middle finger to Americans and S. Koreans, Touch everything you want (move chairs, sit on them). You can even stand just in the border, under 1 meter (2ft) from the concrete slab (which marks the countries' border), while visitors from the South have to be at least 10 meters (30ft) away from the concrete slab.
I'd still be perfectly happy enough going from the South Korean side. At least I wouldn't be bombarded with propaganda constantly, and I'd be safe in the knowledge that my money isn't going towards building nukes and missiles.
DPRKsongsInFinnish That's because Americans and SK soldiers are more civilized. It's not like they'd aimlessly shoot tourists by simply taking a photograph nor made hand gestures that could be deemed offensive. There's a reason why touring JSA from the other side is much stricter🙄
Hippie With A Cowboy Hat I thought about that, I would say hey let me work the dmz line today and when I had the chance I would bolt across like no tomorrow
lifeforce If they won the war, they would take the South but they didn't. The truth was nobody won the war. The North invaded the South 1st, then the U.N. led by the U.S. to take over the North, then China stepped in. So they and the U.N led by the U.S. agreed with the division. Let just say China won.
+sgcl10658 Exactly. The North struck first by invading the South in hopes of "uniting" Korea. Then the U.S. deployed reinforcements and beat their asses all the way back near the Chinese border. If not for China's intervention (in which case they pushed the U.S. all the way back near the South/North Korean border), there would be no North Korea today. In short: China saved their asses. North Korea was manhandled by the U.S. up to that point. It's comical that they pretend they "won" the war, when in fact they were just bailed out by their "big brother."
Chubzdoomer Yup but their "big brother" is no longer fond of them anymore as they invted the president of the South to be honored guest at their anniversary of the PRC last year.
many actually believe in the propaganda from the north. Korea won't ever launch a nuclear weapon cause the regime knows they wouldn't survive and they love sex and pizza way too much. plus the DPRKs nuclear weapons are not as powerful as most in the media proclaim they are. The regime needs the US help but if they do get our help it's the end of their regime and they know it too.
*Propaganda is awesome! While this guy sweats what little hydration is left in his body, the ROK and American soldiers enjoy air conditioning, and all the other comforts of modern society just a few yards away.* All the words in the world can not surmount the obvious visualizations. This guy is one of the best fed soldiers the North has? Yikes! He looks like he is one (American provided) vitamin away from fainting.
I did 2 trips to Korea in 2008 North and South and visited DMZ from both sides. The North were more relaxed about what I could do on the DMZ while the US Army on the south side had a long list of 'don't do this don't do that'. Though the presentation from the North Side gave me the same crap as in this video.
Did you find out if the two sides co-ordinate touriist groups in order to avoid unpleasant moments? That is one thing I am wondering, after seeing videos from both sides... (Funny how there hardly are any ROK or US soldiers nearby when a tour groups visits the blue building from the North..
+Northkorean kp (DPRK) I'm not talking about the Korean War-I'm talking about now. North Korea endlessly threatens South Korea, the U.S., and Japan with military action, including nuclear strikes. I refuse to travel to North Korea because I do not want to give Kim Jong-un's regime the money it needs to continue developing nuclear weapons and ballistic missiles.
How do you find information on google about DMZ tours on the North Korean side? I don’t want to go on one, i just want to find a website that talks about the tours. All I can find when i google DMZ Tour North Korea is information about the South Korea DMZ tours
Interesting to see the other piece of the puzzle of the armistice agreement, the name of the propaganda village, and the other buildings beyond to which we can see "Bob", the North Korean guard -- I wonder if tourists can also go through the blue house through there and maybe even leave North Korea through that.
The translations aren't exactly 100%. I mean I would translate it a bit different. Not saying she did a horrible job, just saying somethings can be said a bit better, to not insult the American people there.
+Brian Sham demoted probably. I believe it's a prestigious post to be at, one that is mostly ceremonial vs grudge work elsewhere in the country. Definitely extremely unprofessional behavior to be doing that, no matter what army you are in.
They weren’t standing at attention but they were standing at ease so they can talk and move but not shift position. Just a simple order given by whoever’s in charge.
That's easy me and my friend snuck into North Korea just go to Shenyang, china from there they will sneak you.into North Korea any questions just ask lol
Makes me wonder how the air conditioner got setup there, seeing they may be stepping to North Korean territory if they opened the door behind -- did the North Koreans help set it up?
idk if it's just me. but I get the vibe the the NK government almost wants to be like the Nazis. the uniforms the goose stepping. idk maybe it's just me
As a form of intelligence to i know the current trends of the world since they are so secluded. they get valuable info, fashion or technology trends anything they can grab they will to improvise propaganda and brainwashing methods
Im not entirely sure. It is only an assumption i have based off the current politics between the north and south. They have trade embargoes and sanctions placed on them. Nothing is going into the north without being heavily scrutinized. In my opinion, North korea is desperate to catch up to the current world trends or risk losing out on technology and human advancements.
Dude if they did that they would still attack the us Even though and japan would get invaded because japan and the us are allies they would invade japan and fire nukes right at the west coast and Washington DC That what they want
Anyone else notice the Samsung air con on North Korean side..
I know... Samsung is a South Korean company lol
goodall1bay UN building is blue colour
Alon Alkalai well its the DMZ
Air condition unit right before entrance to "blue building" from North Korean side is made by Samsung, South Korean company :))
solara2 that's a joint north and south Korean meeting room. Obviously the UN oversaw its construction and probably chose Samsung as their ac supplier. I'm sure they have Chinese air condtioning brands in north Korea.
wow is it just me or north korean dmz tour looks more relaxed compare to the south's?
IG Yudha because if you don't behave you will be arrested for life

DPRKsongsInFinnish thats because America won't start a needless war just because of someone's ettiquete but the north will.
I would rather tour it from the south side because I would definitely feel safer with the American and South Korean soldiers.
The samsung air con unit looks like its put there just to show the north the south can still get in lol
It's a UN building so North Korea doesn't own that air con
Thank you for posting this video. It is interesting to hear about the division of Korea from the North Korean perspective.
Gotta wonder if the NK soldier is thinking "The south is 10 feet away, I could make it"...
Hippie With A Cowboy Hat I thought about that, I would say hey let me work the dmz line today and when I had the chance I would bolt across like no tomorrow
Jasmine Towle the thingy is.. it would work if you were the only one guarding it...or else you are FINISH
Hippie With A Cowboy Hat if u defect their family will be executed
Hippie With A Cowboy Hat well it must be him who made it accross well wounded
Awesome.... then you just killed everyone in your family you left behind.
3:40 he caught you!! lol
It's funny they talked they won the war but why is their country is still divided? Kind of illogic.
General Mc Arthur was defeated and he, not the north korean, asked for the ceasfire who last until now.
lifeforce

Chubzdoomer yes true
that guard did not like the camera in his face, he's probably used to being able to shoot people dead when they do that
lol
Thank you for the Great video
The DMZ the dimilitirized jone
Their air conditioning units are made by samsung, a South Korean company...
me2fan1 Not a big deal
Actually most of their stuff is South Korean, Japanese etc
Where are the South Korean guards ?
I wonder if dprk soldiers respect the strength of American soldiers at all or do they just underestimate us too much

A "less powerful" nuke? Does it really matter?
They have no contact with the outside world and actually believe they can defeat the USA. Sadly, they will find out if they keep firing off missles
The Centrist Gamer much better if u ask the Vitname's as they already know much better 🤗🤗🤗

Why am I leaning towards wanting to smash the tour guide?
I did 2 trips to Korea in 2008 North and South and visited DMZ from both sides. thank you for your video, tourists are welcome to do a tour at the DMZ at the DPRK/North Korean part
Tourists are welcome to do the same from the ROK/South Korean side-except their money won't help fund a totalitarian regime.
+Eccentric Gamer thank you for your comment, but to pay the USA, and South Korea gouvement for their war equiments and propaganda to the world
+Northkorean kp (DPRK)
I would be more than happy to pay them if it meant helping to defend South Korea from the North's aggression.
+Eccentric Gamer thank your for your comment, you do not know who started the war, South Korea "first"
+Northkorean kp (DPRK)

In the building, were you allowed to sit in the middle of both countries?
How do you find information on google about DMZ tours on the North Korean side? I don’t want to go on one, i just want to find a website that talks about the tours. All I can find when i google DMZ Tour North Korea is information about the South Korea DMZ tours
You can check out Koryo tours, they are one of the travel agencies to NK.
Will it be part of dmz tour? I want to be on that tour with real nokor
...Unusual (?) to see the R.O.K. flag depicted near beginning of video.
Interesting to see the other piece of the puzzle of the armistice agreement, the name of the propaganda village, and the other buildings beyond to which we can see "Bob", the North Korean guard -- I wonder if tourists can also go through the blue house through there and maybe even leave North Korea through that.
that is dmZ, the demilitarized joint
The translations aren't exactly 100%. I mean I would translate it a bit different. Not saying she did a horrible job, just saying somethings can be said a bit better, to not insult the American people there.
I wonder if the DPRK soldiers @10:22 were tortured for being seen smiling and talking about happier times at home about their daughters growing up
***** I doubt it man. They are people too.

They are very one sided

Makes me wonder how the air conditioner got setup there, seeing they may be stepping to North Korean territory if they opened the door behind -- did the North Koreans help set it up?
Demilitarized Jhon

idk if it's just me. but I get the vibe the the NK government almost wants to be like the Nazis. the uniforms the goose stepping. idk maybe it's just me
It would be nice if Kim and Trump would have some negotiations in those buildings instead of Sabre rattling all the time.
Imagine a tour from both sides happening at the same time, and there are Americans on both sides lol i wonder if they would wave or something :D
Will never happen. The opposing door is locked in the MAC building. The soldiers are instructed to stand guard at the opposing door as well.
no when outside
No, visitors are not allowed to wave at cameras or make gestures...
why does the north koreans always take pictures at the border???
As a form of intelligence to i know the current trends of the world since they are so secluded. they get valuable info, fashion or technology trends
anything they can grab they will to improvise propaganda and brainwashing methods
seriously so they take pics of the tourists?? thats creepy
Im not entirely sure. It is only an assumption i have based off the current politics between the north and south. They have trade embargoes and sanctions placed on them. He's in Japan where he was created.
It is 2015. Time to reunify Korea! This is ridiculous
Dude if they did that they would still attack the us
