When I asked why, they said "because I pay waaaaaay less taxes owning my own business than I did working for someone else". When it comes down to it, it's just about self-interest and greed; that's the only reason to ever vote Tory.

The influence of right-wing media moguls really shouldn’t be underestimated, it seeps into every home and poisons minds against each other. The Tories rely on othering the working class against themselves, and othering immigrants against everybody, because it distracts from the true causes of the misery that so many people are suffering these days. They scapegoat the voiceless in society, then demonise anything bordering on progressive social reform, and in doing so they obfuscate their own amoral behaviours for their own self-enrichment and the pursuit of their ever increasing power… I don’t see how this can lead us to anywhere other than extremism, each time the pendulum swings… I’m so thoroughly hopeless about the future of democracy.

I have about Fifty grand in the bank, just through savings, where I live the government does not consider this as I live on the lowest pension. The government help their poor with donations for fuel and have restricted the electricity to no more than 4 percent. Where do I live , yes France where they got rid of their parasites in 1789. Big message there.

"Sometimes MPs treat the public like we haven't got a brain" well each time we've had a vote so far (particularly over the past 6 years) we prove them right, so it's unsurprising that they then continue to behave like this towards us

To be fair though, all of those votes have gone in the favour of those very politicians. The issue is not the public that lacks intelligence. The issue is the information sources that are designed to manufacture the results those in power want. When you listen to arguments even by the people in this video, I roll my eyes. But it's not like they just came up with the BS coming out of their mouths. Somebody has nurtured it in their head, and sadly, until we deal with the sources of that propaganda nothing's going to get better.

0:12 should we ask her to head up the committee to decide who should and shouldn't get benefits - seems like she has some good ideas. I imagine it would be "I deserve more benefits, they deserve less".

I bet at their cores, BoJo is more remain inclined and “progressive” than Sunak, who is an outright Brexiteer of the Thatcher variety, but perhaps not as unhinged as Liz Truss.
