    I just started pharmacology and med surg. I’ve been watching these videos since last semester in fundamentals!!!! (Which has been extremely helpful)I just decided to step up my game a little more and ordered the med surg and pharm flash cards!!!! I can’t wait for them to get here tomorrow so I can start following along with the video!!! Thanks Maris and Cathy so far you all have helped dramatically with getting me through my semesters… I’m half way there 🎉❤

    Helpful video! I’m a pharmacy technician and this came up at work today, you made it very easy to understand! I do have a question. Would you say that a therapeutic index may vary patient to patient since people can tolerate medications differently? Or is this more in reference to the general levels of what becomes toxic to people in general with each medication

    • @LevelUpRN
      @LevelUpRN  Před 2 lety +1

      Hi there! The therapeutic index is the point at which the drug becomes therapeutic and the point at which it would become toxic. So, within that window, people may respond differently, meaning that some people might experience therapeutic effects right away at the start of the window, but others may need to be higher up in that window to feel the therapeutic effects. But they would still be considered toxic above that window!

    Hi Cathy, for your flash cards does it include conversion to metric system? I’m a Canadian nursing student.

  • @BushyHairedStranger

    What is the number of people needed to treat for that intervention, or medication, in this protocol?
    *The number needed to treat is the number of patients that need to receive an intervention for one patient to get the desired benefit.
    This is the same as Therapeutic Index right?
