    6:36 EPLERENONE per Wikipedia: specifically marketed for reducing cardiovascular risk in patients following myocardial infarction. Eplerenone is a potassium-sparing diuretic, meaning that it helps the body get rid of water but still keep potassium. (So similar to spironolactone; K+ sparing diuretic; aldosterone blocker)

    Aliskiren AKA Tekturna! Never paid attention to the generic name, as a pharmacy tech I have only seen Tekturna given to patients. I know in the hospital, since it is a different environment, they might have it available in generic. Thank you for this.

    For the Aldosterone Antagonist, you said it essentially inhibits the effects of aldosterone which result in reabsorption of sodium and water but wouldn't inhibiting aldosterone cause the excretion of sodium and water? Let me know if I'm misunderstanding!

    • @mobprincessxoxo5758
      @mobprincessxoxo5758 Před 3 lety +4

      No, your understanding is correct! To inhibit the release of aldosterone is to inhibit sodium and water reabsorption and thus promoting water and sodium excretion. She made an honest mistake!
