I bought some Kickers shoes from round there decades ago. They looked real enough, dirt cheap, lasted me ages. Right shit hole of an area, it was filled with trade only shops but on a Sunday some were “open to the public” conveniently.
I bet there is still lots of 'Turkish' barbers around though with no customers?
I'm bald so my eye for barbers isn't what it used to be.....maybe 🤣
@@honestplaces No worry. I don't think those barbers are into cutting hair anyway. Nor all those vape shops into selling vapes.
@@lorenzbroll0101 Yeh i heard there are still some sneeky way of selling good.....probs buy a vape and get a Louis Vuitton bag at the same joint
@@honestplacesmore like façades to launder drug money
Not Turkish. All Albanian, fellers who cut your hair are slaves.
The vape shops are probably the same people with dodgy hidden rooms
Manchester council turned a blind eye to this for 15 years raiding the odd one now and again, guess what they want to redevelop this area that's why they have shut up shop.
Probs because all the people going therr used to put money into the center also when they came for a day out!
A good economy needs a good black economy , you don't get one without the other . That's why it happens , and like everything else , it's got a shelflife .
nahhh bolloks, nobody needed all these smelly tosspots selling fake crap
I used to travel up to Manchester occasionally to go here.
It was always a bit mad when you'd be in one of the shops and the shutters would suddenly come down and you wouldn't be able to leave until what I'm guessing was the Police patrol had passed.
I'll admit I'm more than a bit surprised it's actually stayed closed.
I love buying knockoffs. They dont have the name brand, but if you are careful you can get a decent product for a decent price without a designer name on it. I got a Coach Legacy style bag for less than 20 dollars about 7 years ago. It was manufactured exactly the same way with the same kind of leather as the branded product. It was the same right down to the stitching and hardware. Made in China same as the Coach Legacy bag costing close to 200.
Yup...most of the actual branded stuff is all china anyway. You honestly couldn't tell the difference
Good video , enjoyed it
Cheers!
Totally depressing, I used to go to Bury new road with a mate back in the late 80s to buy tools and clothes for his market stalls, nearly all old school Jewish shop owners then!
Many happy times "shopping" there!!
Yet "Candy Stores" are flourishing in London!
What are Candy stores?
@@honestplaces Fake American candy being marketed in UK. And they could be money laundering fronts czcams.com/video/9og5jvbO2sw/video.html
You guys have better commercial candy than we do here in USA. Hershey's has ruined it all. UK KitKat cannot be sold by any one here is USA. Because Hershey only wants us to eat the bastardized, chemical tasting version they manufacture here in the states. Cadbury has turned into a schlock product too. Used to love Cadbury products, but no more.
People have been opening open "American candy" shops to launder black market money.@@honestplaces
@@honestplacesThey're shops in London's Leicester sq and places that rent expensive premises and sell overpriced candy that nobody ever buys and manage to stay in business ( money laundering) 😂
Not just London, they're popping up everywhere. Absolutely stinks of money laundering.
I saw a video ages ago of Charlie Veitch walking down there when the shops were open getting followed and hassled
It would be a great set for GTA6.
Think Miami is still slightly better 🤣
I'm surprised Cheetham Hill has closed down for good, it used to get raided every 6 months then as soon as the police left the shutters of the shops would re-open. Gangs of Asians would peddle smack in broad daylight as young kids walked past shopping with their parents, it felt like a lawless area. It was thriving in its day 1000's of people from around the country would converge looking for a cheap deal now it will just be a ghost town or demolished and turned into housing.
Must have ran out of loop-holes. I thought it would last forever too!
@@honestplaces They all still operate on facebook now but expect u to buy paying with crypto 😂 Good luck with your channel bro hope, hope it explodes for ya 🤞
@@Mickc934 i'm already down on Crypto so deffo not for me! Cheers pal 👍
What was once slightly out of the city centre is now prime time city centre. As its grown and grown the land is worth more than it ever has and that is why Cheetham Hill has finally been permanently closed permanently, the council could have done this 20 years ago but it served them no purpose
What a dive it's like the hood in new York 😂😂😂
🤣
sad times, used to get some right gear from here, not just clothes you could get anything if you asked for it haha, cheap cigs, fireworks, vapes and much more that i wont say 😅
Never would of bought a dodgy vape 🤣
Now all the counterfeit stuff is online
I’m Salford born, i think Council should demolished everything and built more houses or hospital?
Do The Curry Mile For a Change Pal
Is it near Cheetham hill ? I get some postage bags from there.
Like a 2 mins walk yeh 👍
Yeah i think i know where it is, lovely area !!@@honestplaces
@@OliviaApple-hf8ig The place to be!
Certainly is, i am just going to the gym in Salford. But we can chat soon. Keep the videos going.@@honestplaces
Shame because it did help alot of poorer familys especially over the Christmas period, i can remember going a few years ago it use to be rammed thousands of people there now it looks dead 😢
It was better when the shops was open it was just a more fun and lively place that use to bring in people to manchester from all over
when I was a teenager, Tib Street was the place for hooky gear.
Classic 👍
Great wee street for a bargain.
And porn?
@@pjsmith2744 nah..that was the shop with saloon doors on Oldham St.😈
How can I contact a seller 😊
It was just over 32 years they was running
Mad that
Yes but it's underground

Still open if you know you know, no longer in shop premises 😏😏😏😏 qr code only
Primark is enough for me 🤣
Where do I find this QR code?
Wher they gone now , where do I get my new Rolex's from now :(
I know mate, can't rock up to wetherspoons anymore with a 30k fake watch 🤣😭

Soneone out there must no where they have gone. Its not just all online. 1000% somewhere close them shops are open. Anyone no any information as we all wants some snides. Come onnnnnn ffs
Timbuktoo
All the vape shops so close to each other is dodgy
No doubt HMRC shut them down
They've made a shit load of tax free money and gone to live like king's in Pakistan!
Enjoying yer vids. I live in Hudds and found you only last night. Shit country innit now?
