0:33 - Using 7-zip to unzip downloaded files:
Many NR2003 Files need to be extracted or unzipped when you download them. I use 7-zip: www.7-zip.org/

0:57 - Patching the game to allow mods:
The game must be updated to 1.2.0.1 along with being patched in order to select mods using the “Active Series” arrows in the game. You may already have these patches. This can be downloaded at WKC. Instructions are included in the readme for the download: wildkustomcars.weebly.com/mis...
1:51 - What is a mod for NR2003?
“Mods” refer to a folder in the series folder. For example, “Default Cup Mod” is the “cup” folder in (Papyrus-Nascar Racing 2003 Season-series)
2:44 - Downloading mods and where to put them:
When you download a mod, unzip it and place it into the series folder. (Papyrus-Nascar Racing 2003 Season-series) Make sure you have actually downloaded a mod and not just a car set.
4:05 - Restrictions with mods
There are a maximum of 16 mods you can have in the series folder. There can possibly be issues if you delete the default “cup” mod so I usually leave it.

4:48 - Downloading carsets and where to put them:
Carsets must be created for the mod you want to use them for. You cannot download a 2000 Default Cup Mod carset and use it on a 2012 mod. Download a carset and place it in the "cars" folder for the series you want. (Papyrus-Nascar Racing 2003 Season-series-cup-cars). Many carsets come with LST files that act as a roster in the Opponent Manager within the game.
6:30 - Make sure your cars are the right physics type for your mod:
Carsets have to be the right physics type for the mod you are using. For example, you can only use car files with a .cts extension if you are playing on a CTS physics mod.

7:33 - Updated shared folder and downloading tracks:
Many modded tracks use Revamped Reloaded shared folder. You can find this at WKC: wildkustomcars.weebly.com/mis... Download and place the shared folder in (Papyrus-Nascar Racing 2003 Season-Tracks).
Download a track you want to use and put it into the same tracks folder. Make sure the track folder is not compressed/zipped when you put it into the tracks folder.

9:00 - What to do with soundpacks:
DO NOT DELETE SOUND.DAT OR THE GAME WILL NOT LAUNCH. If you delete SPCC you will have no spotter or crew chief. Download a soundpack and place the .wav files in (Papyrus-Nascar Racing 2003 Season-sound).
Make sure to read the readme files that come with soundpacks, as many have options you need to use in the game for them to function properly.

Helpful vid - So I take it that because the 'tracks' folder is outside the 'series' folder, the mods aren't directly linked with tracks - for ex. if you install a1960s car mod you would still have to find and install the historic tracks (or find a trackset) but you could otherwise play that mod with the stock NR2003 tracks or any others you have downloaded? Whats the max no. the game can handle?
Also as the sounds have a separate folder how you ensure the correct sounds play for the mod you are using - do installled sound mods overwrite others or the default sounds permanently?

So I have fifa on PC and I use mods using a mod manager. Whenever I open a add-on nr2003 track file, instead of being able to open it with file explorer or this PC, it always forces me to open it in the fifa thing. I'm hoping you know how to stop other tools from interfering with this? Also extracting tracks with WinRAR doesn't seem to work correctly either
I wonder if there's a way to mix and match this game's generation mods and have gens 1 to 7 cars all racing alongside. One can dream, right?
I was curious if you or anyone has the zip file for “2000 - 2002 Winston Cup carsets” from racing grafix. As that link doesn’t work since they shutdown the domain. It’s for the original cup mod.
I have a 2003 busch series mod. I can't do championships with it. I got the 2003 busch series schedule for the championship and everything but when I go to do a season, add drivers is greyed out and I'm the only one. Doing a singular race non season works just fine.
is there a Nr2003 soundpack changer program out there anywhere? It would be nice to not have to constantly add / delete the wav files each time you switch mod
Sound files seems to be the hardest mod type to find.
Is there a mod you recommend that has the best simulated damage? I have this the vanilla version of NR2003 on my PC and the simulated damage just seems to be lacking when compared to NR 3.
Does it matter what you use to unzip? The templates for the 2019 mod that I'm trying to get just go on the 2003 cars, not the 2019 cars.
Where did you find the cup90 mod? I just keep coming across a page that has tires/PSD templates/dash updates etc
I can't get the 2017 mencs paintschemes to work, I dragged the carset into the series then the cars and it never showed up
You mention in your video how only 16 mods are allowed at a time. I was just wondering if that includes the vanilla Cup series or if you can actually install 16 new mods. Along with that, does a carset actually count as a mod? Great video, by the way!
I believe the original cup mod is included in this count, as I have had mods not show up when I have 17 series in my series folder. Also, I have heard there can be issues if you get rid of the original cup mod, so you may want to keep it. And carsets do not count, as far as I know there is not a limit to the amount of cars you can have for a specific mod.
One thing you forgot in the video is how to change the leaderboard look while racing instead of racing the default red one.

NOOBie here using Windows 10, followed these instructions, tried downloading both cup90_cts and cup90gns,... copy and paste into the series folder without luck, any ideas where I may have screwed up

Great video! I have a question regarding a mod i downloaded. I downloaded the 1990 cup mod and it had the car set. It came right up in the game but if i try to run in Championship mode with it, it will only allow me to set the number of opponents to 1. Is there a way to run with a full field in Championship mode or will the game just not allow you run in that mode with mods? Hopefully, i wasnt too confusing with all that lol
Sorry if I am late, but you have to select the series before the championship, also you might have to edit the series, season.

How to delete mods?
Because whenever I delete a mod permanently, like remove it from my recycle bin, it is still in nr2003.

Когда я устанавливаю мод на подобии NG55, в котором всего 2 машины, у меня ломается игра: появляется только 1 противник. И все. Больше никто никогда нигде не появиться. Только я, 1 противник и машина безопасности. Ну и трасса. И так во всех сериях. И так даже если я удалю мод. Мне приходиться переустанавливать игру. Что мне делать? Таких модов у меня много. does the revamped shared folder affect original tracks somehow? can i just keep the revamped shared folder in the tracks folder and use original and mod tracks?
no, it doesnt effect any of the default tracks, its just to make some modded tracks load

For anyone watching in 2023, I have a change to the car set portion. You have to enter the file with the .lst and the .car files and select all before extracting. It will not work otherwise.

Maybe I am an idiot but I can not find a series folder anywhere, everything shown is just cabinet files I can't open along with setup files etc. etc.
Update: My stupid ass was looking in the NR2003 Folder that I extracted from the ZIP file to originally get the game running instead of the C Drive where the Papyrus folder was located.
Here ia the problem i have. when i try to add the mod into series and go into the game it dosent sho arrows and im in the latest version.
I know that can be a problem for people who are using a no-CD version of the game if that is how you installed it. You have to make sure to patch the game before adding the no-CD exe. That's the only thing I can think of being an issue, so you might need to do a fresh install

If the file is a .gns file that is a car file. Car files go in the "cars" folder which should be inside the mod folder that you put in the "series" folder.

bruh I installed the patches and they did nothing, make a video on how to get it to work because there arent any and I followed all the steps.
edit: turns out I already had the patch notes, the game is just stupid. now I seriously dont know what the hell to do, someone please help im getting impatient!

Yes the original sound folder has just the sound.dat and the spcc folder, so you would just delete the other files. You should make a copy of the original sound folder just in case.

Why does my computer freezes everytime the cars wreck? Once it freezes it will just freeze forever (btw, i’m using Splash n Go mods) is it the computer that has problem or the mod? Because it seems every splash n go mod I use it will always freeze if the cars wreck pls help me
I would guess it is because the smoke/debris that appears when cars wreck is causing problems for your computer. Try turning those off in the graphics settings in the game and see what happens.

Bruh the website won’t even allow me to download the mods wtf I have my cookies allowed and everything cleard my cache restarted my computer honestly any other place I can get these mods cause the main site sucks
When I press launch nr2003, the game sends me to my sierra account login. 😂 Then the game shuts down if I leave the page.

I have the newest Indy car mod, do I have to change the physics in the mod to make the Indy cars go faster? Because they run the same speeds as the stock cars do. They should be doing over 200 at Indy and they run about 170-180
