    Its the armor the enemy npc is wearing that make it weapons do less damage. plate armor you want to use blunt damage for the most leather or no armor cutting for the most damage, then piercing headshots neutral for plate, leather, and no armor.

    if the damage model is a copy and paste from last oasis (and everything else about the combat system is), the damage will also take into account how fast you're moving and in which direction compared to the person you're hitting. Like if you swing from the right and move to the left, you'll do more damage than if you swing from the right and move right. I would also not be surprised if there are hidden values where certain types of armor mitigate different types of damage more effectively. Like the gambeson might block slashing damage more than blunt and plate armor might do better against blunt or something. And the reason that the tip of the weapon deals more damage is because it moves fastest and that is modeled in the damage model (again taking this from last oasis, where we used to swing from grappling hooks and hit each other for huge damage haha)

    Cool ive given all my vilkagers axes but makes sense and will start making em swords
