TIP: after you've added your villagers as companions, open the army tab (O), click on the squad and then next to each villager's name there is a question mark that you can use to change their role to mixed, melee or ranged.

you can have multiple squads of companions. open the army screen and add as many squads as you need ("add squad" button). you can drag and drop between the squads as well as while in settlement "recruit" settlers directly to each squad. to order them you need to switch squads using middle mousebutton or whatever buton you have set for it. it's useful for setting up your archers etc

Instead of going through the companions one by one to make an army, click army ( O ) and add, then just click down the left hand side of the menu where its showing the job they are doing or dots, and they will join your army. Faster way of adding them all in.
Then when you want them to go back to workers, go to the army tab again, and click on X which will disband the army and return them to workers.
You can also make multiple armies. So you can have an army of archers, and an army of Melee.

you can give order to your troops to loot area too so you don't have to give them items you looted. It's hard to target loot bag tho while giving them this order.
This is one of the reason's I enjoy putting out videos. I don't know everything and people share what they know and then I get to learn something!!

Losing even a single person is a huge deal in this game because it takes forever for them to rank up their skills. With that being said, I guess it might be wise to place lower ranked people in a separate squad, and to use them as the first waves of assaults. I've been trying to figure this command stuff out. Thanks for the video.

telling them to get weapons and food doesn't work for me. i have guys swapping out there arming swords for construction hammers and only eating one thing or nothing at all. even after multiple commands to go. still having to individually stock them up so we can go on a long walk together
Is this an OLD video? I saw from another vid they broke the Army our in squads???
i didnt buy the game yet because i ask how many npc's guards i could get, and somebody told me 6 or something, that wasnt worth for me, i want the possibilty to make a big army. so how much npc can you recruit to fight on your side or have as guards? and is there a sandbox?
When I want to I walk around with 10-12 troops. My goal is 25.
I have overall around 30-40 followers, if I wanted I could raise them all to fight with me but then no one would be at base gathering/building and also not all are meant to be fighters.
@@firmbutfairgaming8636 great game, but im more a online gamer, but these kind of game would be crazy if it was online, cant find anything like this in pvp.
Brooo.. I've been going one by one to each soldier and giving them food and the right weapons, this is so much easier! Thank you! Now I dont have to dread calling up the troops.
Also whered you get that quest for the warriors guild? I havent seen that yet.
For what I know, they take the weapons from the weapon rack, but since the rack doesn’t take shields, they won’t equip shields. :/
@@therealjonaswp602 Having this issue as well, have you found a fix other than just equipping it for them? I guess you could make a camp box just for shields... if your villagers don't take them out and put them somewhere else smh
@@brandx7711 I just use a stockpile dedicated to weapons/gear, if I wanted to use that tactic.
What I am currently doing, is to form a squad, then have them line up and then just manually arm them.
I actually prefer doing it manually, so that I can make sure that the gear has enough healthpoints, so I dont risk that the gear breaks mid-battle and thus making the companions run away.
There was a camp flag to claim after your raid; wasn’t sure if you saw it and purposely didn’t claim it or if you just did not see it. Nice video, thank you!
@@therealjonaswp602 I hear ya, Im thinking Ill just inspect each weapon that I put in the weapon rack prior to forming an army, they seem to know which one to grab,,..its a little confusing still what if there are tools or hammer sin there or their weapon is missing
THAT is an army??? The trailer is literlly lying then.. how disappointing. I think I will stick to Bannerlord instead.
