Amazing!! We nearly had a laser machine out the window, becuase of the frustration this caused, especially wiht the homing! THis saved a lot of frustration, and of course, the need to buy a new machine. Great content! 💪💪
This one Video has changed my life... I've been fighting my XTool D1 for months.... Thank you so much for showing me how to get this thing to play nice. I can now put my laser head Exactly where I want it and repeat all my projects! Cheers
What a great video. Simply explained , easy to understand and at the right pace for a new user to laser engraving. Thank you very much greatly appreciated.
I think I've watched every CZcams video on this subject. For me, your explanation is by far the best. Now it all makes sense. Thank you very much.
Thank you, thank you, thank you.
I Did my first ever test cut an hour ago with LB. Wish I had a look at your video before that ... but now I understand the different options. Thanks again.
Really helpful video! Repeatability is what I was trying to figure out and absolute position provides that. Thanks!
my life improved dramatically at 10 minutes ;-) that's been driving me mental...thank you
Thanks a million for this video. I am extremely new with this laser stuff but I am very interested in learning as much as I can. This will help me tremendously for when I go to line up my first job once I get that far. Now if I could only find a video on doing a job from start to finish.....lol.... It's hard when you really new and don't even know what kind of question to ask let alone searching for it...
Thanks again.
Great video, you make it very easy to understand, you speak clearly and explain the steps very well, thank you!
The second I saw the headline of this video, I hulk smashed the like button, subscribed and rang the bell. I’m running an xTool D1 Pro 20 watt. I guess regardless of whatever engraver you’re running, all react the same way with Lightburn. I will be saving this video for future reference.
Thank you very much for this video. It was a huge help and it relieved my confusion.
Very informative! It helped me A LOT. Thanks!
Thanks for the info, very clear and concise video.
Thank you for this video, now I understand why the positioning were always negative after Homing... didn't realize I needed to restart the software.
This was so helpful. Thank you very much.
Thank you my friend. Your video saved my life.
New to Lightburn and seeing my laser unit travel up across my board when I set all to zero confused the hell out of me..... Until I watched this, I didn't know Lightburn read the laser head position as zero when booting up - This was so helpful... Thank you..
Perfect video. I appreciate the no bs all info video. thank you.
this really helped! my endstop cables came loose and i tought i would need to fix it, thankfully u made me realise i can manualy put in in position, thanks!
Thank you very much for demystifying this 👍🏽
SUPER HELPFUL! I do the "Coaster" circular shape wood engraving, and I find it best to start engraving in the middle. The problem I kept running into was that I didnt set the coordinates and set origin. Thank you for this. You made me better!
This has helped tremendously! Ty!!
I have used the JTech laser on my shapeoko with some success. I was most impressed when I called Jtech and got the best customer services in my life- they helped me set this a up and use it. However, IO decided I needed a dedicated laser platform because the Jtech/Shapeoko system was hard to control power and speed or origin when using lightburn. This laser just gave me the bug to get more. I want to engrave door welcome mats and use a rotary for cubs and glass.
Thanks heaps. You are a great trainer.
Here I am again a year later, saying "thank you" again. You are the bestg.
Thank u for helping me to learn how it's works
Thanks! A potentially frustrating and powerful concepts. Cheers
Thanks this was a great video,
Great video!
Great video, thanks for sharing
Wow this helped me a lot thank you 🙏🏻
Excellent video.
Very well explained ❤
Thanks for the info very helpful
THANK YOU for this video....
THANK YOU for your time.
👌👍👍👍 great tutorial . Thank You. GBU
Thank you!! Thank you!! Thank you!!!!!
Thank you for the tutorial
Thanks so much for explaining this in a very clear manner! I can't understand why there is no way to set the 0,0 with a button but have to restart it after homing but this is UX :-). Great explanation made my day!
Yea agreed. Odd that there isn't just an origin button same as Laserworks.
Click on get position and don't need to restart.
Thanx for sharing!
this was helpful thank you
Good day, great video. Hoping you can help me with something around this. I keep getting a Alarm Hard Limit - Y error in lightburn. Any insight into why I might be getting this and how to possibly correct it?
Also how do you get your grid to reflect inches on the screen?
Hello and thank you for the video and also so many helpful tips below so thankful! Am I missing something, (learning) how can you get your text to print solid words instead of just the outline of the words? Thank you so so much
Great video. How about doing a video on how to do a large burn where you have to move the wood piece on the board to burn the second half of the image. Tips on aligning that board and best method of origin for this. How does framing play into something like this. My Atomstack X7 Pro has a burn size of 34" x 16", so if I burn an image the size of 46", how do I continue the burn and true alignment?
This was a huge help! Could you please do a video explaining how to set up multiple projects on the grid so they are processed one after the other. So if I were to place out 5 tiles with the same image on each tile once they were where i needed them to be I could start the burn and it would go until all five tiles were complete. That would be awesome .
Just make it one job and space your items accordingly.
I like the laser guard on your laser, but what if your material isn't absolutely flat, does it hit the material?
this was great I made my first Label, and cut out a Deer thanks a mill for your Tips....!
Do you know an easy way to position multiple pieces of wood at once? Thanks for sharing!
hi, I’m a beginner in laser machine I turn off the Home auto switch it keeps coming and hitting the frame thanks.
Nice video thank you. When I restart my Lightburn it automatically homes the laser and still does not show as 0,0,0? is there a setting I need to change?
Thanks for the video. I was wondering if there’s any reason why my Laser isn’t home into the middle side position on my user origin? It continues to go back to the right hand corner. I’m using lightburn.
Great info
Thanks
Question please. Using lightburn on xtool d1 no limit switches. How to setup and repeat after burn to go to home position x1- y1?
This was great and has help me. I do have an issue with my 36w Wizmaker and homing i just received my new machine and when i hit home it run to the front left corner but the limit switches does not seem to work properly. It go to home hits it and sit there and vibrates. Same thing happens at the origin limit switch. I have been in contact with both lightburn and Wizmaker support but have not got the help i need. Also i get an error message #9 can you help?
How to continue carving after power outage or emergency stop?
Deeply thank you very much. You did gp so details.Have you video about setting speed , Power and distance for different materials
Gostei muito do seu vídeo, parabéns. Me ajuda? Estou tendo um probleminha ao executar o homing. Da alarme de bloqueio. O q faço. Configurar o config.h no grbl?
any ideas on adding a monogram in the center of an elliptical cutting board , 13 inches by 19 inches ?? other wards , easiest way to do this .
What engraver do you use? I like the fact that you can adjust the Z axis. How much was it? I would like to look into getting a CO2 engraver. What can you suggest for an economical engraver around $3,000?
Very clear thanks
Was totally confused about how this was working -- thanks for the clarification. Tired of having my laser running into the rails!
lol me too the noise that it makes is worse than nails on a chalkboard
Thank you!
What if my burn stops for X reason, can I set to continue the rest of the burn after the laser has gone back to it's home?
Hi! I have a problem between Neje vs LightBurn with power. The power via Neje seems to be higher. Is there any additional laser setting in LightBurn? Thanks
Whenever I press “framing”, my laser frames but leaves a framing line (burns into material). Is it supposed to do this? Is there a setting for the laser? My fire button percentage is currently 3%. I also use my focusing plates to give a distance between my laser and material. Any feedback would help. Thank you!
When using Start from Current Position can you physically push the laser to where you want it to start or must you home it and then use the move keys?
Do you have a kit for the standard 7w kit? I have the 7w not the 7w+. Or can I just swap out the shroud on my current laser with magnetic base for the 7w+ then add this?
Thanks for the heart attack with that loud start, lol. It doesn't help that youtube always starts at full volume. Thanks for sharing, I was looking for this topic specifically.
You can turn your phone down instead of leaving it on full volume
What are the light burn? settings for upgrading to? 20W ORTUR .offset for the larger laser head.
If I stop in a middle of a job because it is to pale and i want to go back to my starting point what do i do ??
This video explained a lot about what my machine sometimes does. very interesting. I only have one critique, the cursor is white and it makes it hard to follow, if you can change the color to green or red it would help a great deal. I had to stop and back up a number of times to catch where the cursor was going.
Great video ! Finally I learned a lot about Homing and other things about Origin settings ! I'm from Italy, but youe explanation is clear and easy to follow even for people out of USA! Can you tell me please exactly the name of your laser? Or a specific link. Thanks !! :-)
A good explanation of one of Lightburn's probably most asked questions "where the hell is my laser going to burn from" I actually have a couple of Inox rulers on the edge of my bed in X and Y which I have embedded and also find that useful for reference and I use a wooden square on the bed itself held in place by a couple of Neo magnets for repetitive work. Then pop the piece of wood in or plastic and away you go time after time. Works perfectly. I dont thing since sorting this out in my head a few years back have I used Absolute Coordinates once. Please also dont forget to use "set laser position" from the left hand side menu, this will help you set up the laser head as well and is forgotten a lot of the time.
Great tips. Thanks! Set Laser Position, what actually do you use that with, Using Current Position?
@@jenngoldstein5941 if you click on the "set laser position icon on the left hand side of the screen, looks like an ice cream cone, then click on a place in the workspace the laser will automatically go to that place, its a very quick way to get the laser head where you want it. Faster than jogging.
Thank you. Kept getting shifts in the image while learning. Power up to burn more consistent or deeper and you find out your a whole 5mm off.
I really enjoy your videos but I have an issue maybe you can help me out was burning a cork coaster and my battery on my laptop ran out charge my battery up on my laptop and tried to continue the burn and nothing moves on the laser lightburn says ready that the laser is but when I hit the home button it goes into a busy anything you can help me out with I appreciate thank you
Can u tell me, how to setting frame?? When i click frame tle laser can't on. Iwant to know how much media use.
what do you think could be the issue with mine not homing itself. the y axis only moves to the front under absolute coordinates. and when i reinstall lightburn, it doesnt show all zeros. i have a Fox Alien Masuter 40cmx40cm.
I have just started for some reason a rectangle of mine when it comes to do the cut it doesn't like a square and everything says up there on the top where you have your millimetres is correct but it's not cutting correct can you help? My laser is the Sculpfun S30 20w and I have LightBurn?
I cleared the right side of my light burn. What can I do to get it back?
I'm trying to set up my xtool D1 Pro and can't get it to home. When do you home your machine?
Hi thanks for video but got a issue I followed your steps but now when I press any jog nothing works but if I press right job all the axis move at maximum speed and don't stop until it hits limit switch?
My screen looks similar except, I don’t have the power % and fire button.
So many times over the years, I’ll be watching a tutorial and the screen is just different. I’m not sure how to have the same look so I can follow along.
Thank you
I have set alignment markers ynd want it to start from the center of one, but no matter what i do, user origin, current position, setting origin to center of marker, the start point always goes to center of the machine or the big picture and the closest point to my marker is off by 3,5mm and forthe life of me I can't get it aligned to the marker center
Does this software work with the Foxalien laser?
Thank u good sir. I was wondering y my new laser ingraver was hitting the rails and miss alight my laser. Now I know. Good simple and short video. Thanks
Using Absolute Coridanates and following your homing steps, my laser head returns to the same position every time: Y 586 X 205 despite setting it to X 00 & Y 00. This problem has only arisen lately as it always went back to Y 00 X 00. When I hit Home it then goes back to X 00 & Y 00 Don't know how to correct it. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
My laser engraves off to the left of centre as if something is out of alignment what might this be?
I am new here, could you explain how you reset, I can’t seem to find a way to reset light burn! Thank you!
Hi I'm not able to cut 4mm plywood using light brun for atomstack a5 pro need help
thank you
Hello friend, how can I set the position of the machine? I have xTOOL D1 Pro and, I find it a bit complicated. The little time I am using my xTOOL but, I always use User Origin. Thanks
My job origin (the 3 x 3 circle selection) is ddll and I can’t click on it. Is this because I am still on the trial and I don’t have the full version or is there a way to change it so I can select my job origin?
i dont have the settings box on the right, i accidentally closed out of it. how do i get it back?
When I turn my laser on, it homes perfectly but if I want it to go to the middle of the board it decides to go the other way, trying to go past the side, keeps grinding cause it can’t go any further
I tried job origin. After the I set it up, I hit job origin. The start position is “ job origin”. When I frame it, it is correct position. When I run the burn, irgoes towards the front until it hits the stop. Any ideas?
I have my limit switches for x and y on the right front sides. When I click home everything works fine. But when I then start moving with the arrow keys in the move tab the x axis is inverted.. I'm so confused. I set the machine origin to the front right too. and restarted lightburn. but whenever I click frame then it hits the frame of my laser bc the x axis gets inverted. why?
Hi My name is Donnie I have just bought a Longer B1 2 weeks ago everything was running fine.
Today all of a sudden my machine wouldn't go home it went to the far right. my jog buttons are backwards if I push the right jog it goes left up it goes down. It just seems like every thing is backwards. I'm using lightburn software any help would be appreciated Thank you Donnie.
