What is a MOBA?
Multiplayer Online Battle Arenas, or MOBAs for short, originated as a sub-genre of the RTS (Real-Time Strategy) genre. Because of this, in most MOBA games, the player takes control of a single character from the isometric (top-down) view akin to most RTS games. Typically, in MOBA games, a player takes control of a single character on one of two teams. Those players choose characters that all have their own abilities, or “kits”. To win, the players must use a combination of abilities, teamwork, and strategy to not only best their opponent, but destroy the opponents main structures. A bonus to the genre is that most MOBAs are free games, which is definitely a contributing factor of the their massive success. The genre has many titles, the largest of which being Defense of the Ancients (DoTA) and DoTA 2, League of Legends (LoL), and most recently SMITE!
What is SMITE?
SMITE is one of the more recent free MOBA games to enter the fray. In SMITE you don’t just choose a character, you choose a god. You’ll instantly feel an attachment to characters like Thor and Zeus because even if you don’t know the lore behind them, you’ve at least heard their names before! What makes SMITE so immersive is Hi-Rez Studios’ inclusion of historical lore into the gods’ abilities, kits, and play styles. Thor and Loki aren’t just characters from Marvel comics and movies. They’re also a part of Norse mythology and you can take control of them in SMITE!
What makes SMITE different?
SMITE takes all of the strategy of the top MOBA games and adds another layer of difficulty by putting you into the action! Unlike most MOBA games, SMITE offers players the chance to experience the MOBA genre they know and love from a third-person perspective. This unique perspective allows for an extremely immersive experience unlike any other game in the genre. While this doesn’t sound like such a big change, once you play it you’ll understand! All of these things added together is what has gaming websites everywhere continually rating SMITE as one of the best MOBA games available! - Hry

+Derek Wilson I think the fact that Incon constantly steals FG makes it all the more impressive actually. plus FG buff gave Fenrir a lot of power that he used to destroy the enemy team. Incon should at least be awknowledged in the video.

I love the fact that Inuki is so animated when he talks, all this time I imagined him as this sports announcer who sits close to the mice and conveys all of their emotion through their voice, but Inuki seems to love what he does so much that he cant help but gesture all over the show. Made me smile. (Edited out a typo)
+Canary Biker I'm not a voice actor but well picked up on! I take what I do very seriously, but there is no reason why what I do can't be fun. It has to be fun! The reason for being so animated is something I found myself doing. If you look up voice actors you'll notice that they are even more animated than I am! Whilst I certainly don't have to portray as much emotion as a voice actor. A lot of hand movements, body movements, head movements help me do the commentary.
I'm also a gamer and I find it bizzare that we would want to dress like static sports commentators as opposed to something more in-game-character-like. For eSports it looks like we just looked over at regular sports and said "oh, we have to be like this or no one will take us seriously". I feel we miss out on a lot of fun and we don't gain much. Like turtles stuck in a shell! Personal thoughts though. I'm more than happy to be wrong but I'm sure a lot of us watch movies, cartoons, anime and most certainly play games have something we like about each. Unless it's Hitman, not all video game characters where suits and ties and chances are you like one that doesn't wear them! Some people will even be into cosplay (I don't consider this cosplay because I'm crap at that-plus it's pretty normal for me to be weird). But to try and be a little more like a thing people enjoy is too strange to accept for some =)

+TStokes Play 2 certainly excited me more but it's easy to see why the votes went to SpaceWolfe because that was hyped by the audience to the extreme. Still....Regardless of the order I think many people will be happy just to see these 10 plays.

+Neon Tiger Sifting through tons of fed plays to get to these kind of plays is worth it. Whether plays do it through luck, or skill, for many of us it's enjoyable. That's all that matters! Probably...maybe...There are likely other things that matter but thinking of them is hard!
I'm disappointed that Tyr clip made it to 1st place, it was just a pretty average play followed up by a well timed ult. Yes, it was good, but... Best of 2015? Don't think so.

i think this is my favorite moba compilation series simply because Inuki can make anything sound exciting and awesome

Wow all of people here are ungrateful and heartless. Inuki is an extremely hard worker and an amazing voice actor. He provides us with entertaining, energetic, epic videos that we all love, who cares about his headphones. I mean, really. Doesn't matter what anyone looks like, when they work hard for you to provide quality content that you can see FOR FREE you better be damn grateful and respect them.

He's just very cringeworthy to alot of people, like me, that doesn't mean i don't like his commentating, if he didn't do that so damned good i wouldn't be watching him at all

No one would have to respect me though =P People are free to make their decisions and I will gladly spend a bit of time that I have trying to persuade people through text some of the reasons I do what I do. There are a lot of generalised assumptions about me but logically no real reasons for any concerns that I would have to convince them about. The comments are pretty mild though. Really, they arn't that bad.
It's a real shame I can't speak to each individual and spend quality time with folk. But even if I could, they likely don't need quality time and I would personally dedicate more time to those that really could use a "pick me up".
+sph00n Haha thanks! As far as appearance goes. I'm someone that likes to be colourful and different. I'm a gamer like many of us here. We're spending our time watching a video with walking talking trees, skimpy cat girls in Japanese clothing, Girls who are wearing ribbons, A Gender-Curious space-rollerblader, Armored Magical Dogs, with magic and swords and shields and epic acrobatics in a fantasy world. Everyone here likely....likes that stuff and has a particular set of characters they enjoy.
But they'd never wear what they would. Too scared I say. I'm here for fun and gosh darnit will there be fun! A long time ago in SMITE beta I said if I were to ever cast a tournament I'd request to do it in a Ymir costume. If I were in the billions of dollars. I'd host a charity tournament where the players had to dress as the Gods they chose. I'm sure we'd enjoy that =P hehe. Though maybe people would disagree!

All of the top 3 were incredible, but man, #3 brings back some really good memories of SMITE when it was in beta. A fed Anhur could plow through a whole team like that. It was incredible.
Personally I thought there were some more deserving plays in the Top #5 series than a few of these e.g. the last episode had a couple of incredible plays that could go toe to toe with those here, but I guess they had more time for votes. I also really like two of the plays in #83 and a couple of other plays in #75 (on top of the Awilix clip in this vid). Great reel though, love your commentary Inuki! Best 200 gems spent ever.
Shoutout to Incon for the FG buff steal as Cabrakan in Andinster's Fenrir penta reel! If we could ever have a Top #5 competitive scene plays featured by Inuki that would be awesome. What are you guys' favorite pro-league plays? Mine would have to include the 2nd last teamfight of TSM vs C9 in Week 9 Day 4 Game 1 of the SPL and Trixtank's Blink-HoG red buff steal in the Super Regionals EU Finals Game 5.
+FrizFroz what about the fenrir and kumbha play in 98, you dont see that kind of dedicated teamwork very often, fenrir doing all he can to save kumbha and then escaping with 1 basic away from death resulting in both surviving!

Yup number 1 and number 2 were my favorite moments. The fenrir ballet was just, perfect and of course the tyr vs herc moment was golden since that is something you just don't plan, but rather do without any second thoughts. Very well done countdown
