Will GINGER grow in Zone 6??

ginger is a tropical plant which is native to Southeast Asia. So, it does not grow in zone 6/7 USA. But did you know you can grow "young ginger" This video will harvest my first try at growing this tropical spice.

You can make tea from those leaves.

Whoa that is cool! I may try and do that next year too. Do you think the unusual wet summer helped that along?

Yes! I read they need loads of moisture and we had a very wet summer so it definitely helped. Give it a shot!!

I have a couple of pieces I've actually forgotten about in my basement! I need to bring them up. When I first put them in some moist soil I had learned it can take quite a long time like 10 months was it? How long did you grow yours for?
