Don't know about Mexico, never been there for anything dental. I have never had a good experience with dentists here in the US. I was staying in the Philippines when a tooth broke off. An x-ray, extraction and a filling cost me $32 US dollars. The best experience with a dentist ever. Not just the cost but he numbed my gums before he stuck a needle in them. I never felt the needle, I couldn't believe it. Here in the US it's the needle that caused the most pain for me and that was for just an eextraction. I'll pay the $1,200 airfare to go back if I ever need dental work again before I sit in another dentist chair here in the US.

What an eloquent and well thought out approach to the problem with dental care, plaguing many Americans today. Billions of dollars are wasted on unnecessary procedures that only last a few month or even two to three years. Dental health covers a whole array of anatomical functions, and is necessary for a fully functioning lifespan. Something really needs to be done about dental care in America. I am still in the planning and research stages for a dental clinic that will take care of me, and do the right thing, and just NOT line their pockets and have me make their car payment for them. I have a dissected aorta, lost my coronary artery, and have a CABG, tons of auto immune issues have developed over the years. I am constantly warned by the heart doctors about needing 6 mth dental check-ups and stay on top of the care. I had a cavity and had to pay $750, sold some stuff and did it...but unless I start selling my organs how is this going to work? Plus part of the filling they put in fell out and wanted me to pay to have another one put in. But I am on disability... told I make too much for medicaid! Medicaid only covers adults on SSI that make less than 700/month. Kind of seems like the system is rigged to keep the issues coming rather than clean up anything that might contribute to poor health.
No wonder 3rd world countries have better health care than America!

I have an implant crown that is bad and my dentist cannot figure out why it keeps getting loose. I am on antibiotics now. Also have missing teeth, need to have old fillings removed and broken teeth replaced. I will answer and update anyone who ask as this is a big on taking in a foreign country. I am not afraid...just dreading doing all my teeth at once. 2 friends of mine have gone to Mexico for total restoration and are very happy. 1/3rd the cost.
10/31/2023 Here is my UPDATE: I went to Cancun Dental Specialist and am 1000 percent satisfied! I had a full mouth restoration for 12k. It took two trips and well worth it. I love my new teeth. All new caps 1 bridge and 1 new implant. Turns out the implant I had before that had issues and the USA dentist could not determine what was wrong...the screw that held the implant was cracked. The Mexico doctors discovered it. Highly recommend. Many Americans go. State of the art equipment and they all speak English.

When we started doing our search the cost is prohibitive for us but living in FL we have discovered this past week about the excellent options that exist in Cancun area, which is a short 2 hour flight for us. Mr. Chaudoin: I completely identify with your situation and will be going there soon. Will be getting all-on-6. Teeth are worn to hell and dentists either want to slowly let them degenerate and get worse or they don’t want to deal with me at all. In the Northeastern U.S.I have had a few really good dentists, but a few more who were swindlers. A couple I suspect of actively undermining my dental health. I have had it with U.S. dentists. The ones I have dealt with are extortion artists who keep milking you.

I found , my surgeon landlord got me in immediately, after they saw my botch up job… they got me in doctor Fernando Gallo in Guadalajara. And you won’t wait forever for appts and you won’t pay more than 200$. Not sure of exact price each case different. 1 dentist there speaks perfect English, and dr Gallo does pretty much. All the bells and whistles, panoramic digital X-rays photos of your bite on and on. By the way it should not take 45 minutes to pull a tooth. 15 minutes max.
