my husband purchased me the dyson dryer for Christmas out of the blue. He purchased it at a department store that it cannot be returned once it is opened. I returned it without even trying it as in Canada with tax it is almost 700 dollars. I read too many reviews that it wasn't all that and I didn't want to be stuck with a 700 dollar dryer. I am glad now that I returned it.

I have to comment on the Dyson Hair dryer. I have shoulder length, heavily highlighted blonde hair. My hair is fine but I have lots of it. Some natural wave that leans towards frizz. The Dyson dries my hair from soaking wet to completely dry in 7 minutes (yes I timed it). I’ve had the dryer for a year now and my hair has never been healthier. As a bonus it’s the quietest dryer I’ve ever used. 100% believe it’s worth it. I used my ulta points and a 20% off coupon managed to snag it for around $150 last year. Hope this helps someone else.

You speak clearly and are friendly.

You give quick & concise but relevant & thorough information about the product. Ie, whether or not it's limited edition, how many grams, a good/bad value for the $$$, etc.
AND you seem to weigh the pros and cons for the viewer with the understanding that THAT'S why the person is viewing in the FIRST PLACE.
You get to your point quickly and respect your audience and our time. You don't waste time telling us nonsense at the beginning or making a thousand apologies that we don't care about or even notice anyway.

I’ll admit I bought the beach waver thinking I most likely would return it. Not only did I keep it but it’s practically the only curling iron I use and I have an entire drawer full of some very expensive curling irons. I love it. I also have the simple human mirror. I just got it for Christmas and I love it. Mine works with Alexa and there’s an app that allows me to adjust my ring light to hundreds of different settings. It also allows me to set how long the light will stay on if no ones looking in it. Two items I don’t want to be without!

I couldn't live without my Clarisonic mia2 for sure. I have normal/dry skin, but since I've started using it 2 years ago, my tone and texture has improved to near perfection (near...). What I also love about it is when I see a pimple pop up, I circle my Clarisonic over it for a minute with cleanser, and I swear they go away within a day or two. It's amazing. When I don't cleanse with it I feel dirty now. I've tried the knock off one from Olay, and it not the same.

But then I went to visit my mom and she used her hairdryer and I used mine and it was so frizzy and dry looking so I used mine on her hair and it was so smooth and shiny afterwards... I felt bad I had doubted my hairdryer lol!

Hi Jen, I love my Beachwaver S1! It is particularly helpful for me because I have pretty severe nerve damage in my left hand, which makes styling my hair quite difficult. I am not a fan of the Oral-B - it made my teeth and gums very sensitive! Apparently it is usually used incorrectly due to its shape. I ended up buying Sonicare a year ago and love love, love it. SO much better for me. No more sensitive gums. Most dentists recommend Sonicare a little more often.

I love my Simple Human mirror. The new one has Wi-Fi so you can set the on/off time which is great since I think when it is set to the short time it shuts off too quick. So I have mine set to 30 min and have no issues with it turning off while Im doing my makeup. I was able to pick it up during Nordstrom anniversary sale for a little over $100 as I wasn’t willing to pay $200 even if it is an awesome mirror. Also you convinced me to get the oral B toothbrush which is available on Amazon with $30 off coupon. Funny to watch a beauty channel and get convinced about a toothbrush LOL

This was such a good video!! I've been lusting after the mirror, the Beachwaver and that blow dryer. After seeing this, I'm thinking the Beachwaver might be the only one I'd spring for. If my bathroom had a different layout and I could sit to apply my makeup, the mirror would be great. But since I need to hold my 10x mirror for so much of my application, a heavier one wouldn't be ideal.
I 'd love if you'd try the Foreo Issa electric toothbrush. The head never needs to be replaced and I've been intrigued for so long. I just want to know if it lives up to the hype - by someone I trust - like Jen!!

Jen I know your hair is pretty thin so any hair dryer will likely work. I have VERY thick and long hair. For reference, if I let my hair air dry, it takes 12-16 hours to dry completely. The Dyson dryer allows my to dry my hair in under 7 minutes and that includes using a round brush for styling. Before, I used a Rusk speed freak that was great but it took nearly 12 minutes just to get my hair dry enough to style. The Dyson leaves my hair smoother and with much more body-likely because I’m able to style it while drying. The other pro to the Dyson is how it’s weighted. Since most of the weight is in the handle, once you adjust to the way it feels, you have less fatigue which makes a difference to someone with neck problems!

I have the Dyson blow dryer but I refused to pay the full price so I waited until I had 2000 Ulta points, had a 20% off coupon & used my Christmas gift cards at the start of last year. In the year I’ve had it I’ve only used it a few times because it seems to me that it dries out my hair. It does dry it quicker BUT it feels like dry straw afterwards. I was very disappointed so it just sits there looking pretty while I continue to use my $35 conair blow dryer.

One thing about the dyson hair dryer is that is supposed to be much more light weight so if your a professional hair stylist your arm won’t get as tired throughout the day while giving blowouts. I realize that’s not something the usual consumer would think/ possibly care about.

I own the mirror and I honestly wish they'd make one without the sensor. Mine is glitchy and doesn't like to turn off now, so I end up pushing the button at the bottom to turn it off every time. I'd really rather just switch it on and off when I need it. That said... there is no comparison with the light on this and any other mirror I've tried. I can't live without it.

Erin C mine is glitchy too. It goes off while I am doing my makeup and sometimes I have to turn the mirror away and then back to me again to get the sensor going.

The simple human mirror is waaaay over priced. I was about to buy it until i found one on Amazon by the brand "KDKD" for about 50$ and it is Amazing in every way! Its the perfect height, has bright led lights that can be dimmed with a touch sensor (same one to turn on and off), has 2 sides one normal, one 7x, charges with a usb cable, and has a beautiful white base and silver frame it looks and feels a lot more expensive than it is.

I have the dyson blow dryer and I love it. I got it 20% off at Sephora plus was given some money for it and had a bunch of store credit to use up. So I didn’t actually spend too much on it. I love it. But I would NEVER suggest full price is worth it at all. It’s not exactly more quiet. It’s just higher pitched so it’s different. I still can’t watch movies or anything blowing out my hair. I have a t3 curling iron that is crazy expensive and can totally see the difference it makes. My curls are shinier and less frizzy and they last forever. I also spent a lot on a ghd hair straightener and love it. I can’t say that mirror is worth it for me. It needs to be double sided!! I don’t use magnified that much. I bought an ihome one at bed bath that is wireless. It has great lighting great magnification and great regular mirror. It also has a subpar Bluetooth speaker and I can charge my phone with it. All in all I paid a lot less than the simple human one and LOVE it. I also love my sonicare toothbrush and my clarisonic mia 2!! Couldn’t live without them.

I love the Dyson hairdryer. I would never have bought it for myself but my Husband gave it to me at Christmas. My hair is relatively thick and butt length. When you have this much hair, you really notice just how great that hairdryer actually is. I think it is worth the money for me.

This is the first time I’ve seen your channel & I love it! I’m not a professional either! I am Asian Indian and have very thick hair. When it’s long it takes FOREVER to blow dry. I absolutely love this Dyson hair dryer. It has cut my blow drying time tremendously! The Beachwaver I am less impressed than most. I have the 1 inch & my hair gets caught a lot. It seems the clamp is in a weird place at the end of the curl. I use the buttons and do it manually. I also suck at hair so maybe it’s me. I am completely with you on the Supersonic toothbrush. I was very skeptical. My husband loved his so l decided to try it. It is worth every penny. Last time I was at the dentist they told me that I am such a good brusher. Truth is I really am not. Lol!

I would love to try the Dyson hair dryer. As I get older, it gets more exhausting to hold my arms up for any length of time to blow dry my hair. I've seen other reviews where they said they felt like the the drying time was definitely less. If it really helped me get my hair done more quickly, I'd totally pay $400!!!

Hi jen when i saw your thumbnail i thought the mirror was the ihome vanity mirror which is the one i have that I think has wayy more functionalities than the simple human one it stays on for 20 minutes at a time to conserve energy, you just have to press the button again to turn it on, it has a longgg charger, it has Bluetooth that has a pretty loud speaker imo, you can also answer calls& talk to siri if you have an iPhone, charge your phone (only while the actual mirror is charging though),has 2 light settings , and it’s a double sided mirror that flips one side is like 10 times magnified. I got mine as a gift from bed bath and beyond for $150 for the 9” they also have a 6” at walmart for $100, the cheapest i found it right now is at sams for $89 the 9” but it’s out of stock 🙃 depending what site you get it the price varies they have it at target, walmart, amazon, sams, bed bath and beyond and the actual ihome website hope this helps some who wants the simple human one get a cheaper one with more functionalities.

Is the light really bright? I've been looking at both mirrors online, but was concerned the iHome mirror wouldn't be bright enough.

    • @elenahernandez8104

Squirrel_Of_Mistri it is not extremely bright like blinding but definitely bright enough for me to see my whole face like every detail in my dark room i have no lights in my room just some sunlight peeking through my curtains. I use it everyday i do my makeup and i love it.

Thanks for replying!! The lighting in my room is not the greatest either, and I was concerned about that. I also like how the magnification is better than the Simple Human mirror on one of the sides, then no magnification on the other. My eyesight is terrible without my glasses on, and I don't necessarily want to have to pop my contacts in just to do my makeup.

Thanks for doing this video I don’t think I’ve seen anyone else devote an entire tutorial/review to hair tools

I have the beach waver as well and love love love it! Took a little bit for me to get used to the buttons and the small clipper but it’s worth the effort! The beach waver seriously saves me about 30-40minutes of time from using a regular curling iron.

When I started doing hair 20 years ago I hated blow-dryers because they are so loud and you are basically screaming at your client. About 5 maybe 10 years in one of our sales reps was promoting a new dryer. The main selling point, it was a silent dryer. I was in love and had to have it. It's was around $250 which all professional tools are fairly expensive because we expect to keep them for years not to mention the fact they are literally how we make our living.....but I digress. This dryer was so heavy! It probably weighed 2 lbs....ok, I know that's not heavy but think about something that would normally weigh ounces now weighs pounds. After doing 5 blow outs in a row I could hardly lift my arm. Needless to say I didn't use that dryer long. It's shoved in a closet with my sling because I ended up having to have my rotator cuff repaired....go figure!

I have a sonicare toothbrush that I love, and added a water flosser recently. I recommend those as well, although they take a little getting used to. I invested in drybar hair tools and I totally love them. I have the three day bender curling iron, which has a rotating barrel but it is manual. I like that, though. The hairdryer is really great; it is the first one I’ve had where I could give myself a good blowout. I’ve been in the market for a fabulous mirror...I might have to invest in yours 🙂

I love my Beachwaver's. I have arthritis & nerve issues. This makes it so nice to curl my hair without pain. I like the original as the only difference I could see with the pro is that it curls automatically. I prefer to control how much I curl.

I have tried the Dyson dryer. I don't own it because that is so not in my budget. But, I loved it when I tried it. My hair is medium length and crazy thick and it takes me an hour to dry my hair completely on medium heat with my dryer. It took me 30/40 minutes with the Dyson. My mother has short hair and didn't feel like it was any faster for her. I inked it, but $400 is just too much for this mother of 5!
