For general use I prefer flood. What is within 20-30 meters is much more interesting than what is 700 away in the vast majority of cases, and taking a walk in pitch dark with a narrow beam is like a blind man using one of those sticks going back and forth constantly just to not trip over something.
But that said; I like throwers too and I wouldn't want to be without one, I just find them to be of more limited use.
@WeldingForJesus I appreciate you sharing your perspective. I agree that having both is probably the best bet. Most of my lights are flood, but it's nice to have a few long-distance throwers as well. 👍
@@GreyManPrepping I've been on a shopping spree over the last couple of weeks, a few of my old lights either gave up on me or simply disappeared, so I bought "a few" new ones, and this video of yours made me want a Javelot too (great work! 👍), but I have a Marauder mini (why choose flood or spot when you can have both?) and a Seeker 4 pro in the mail tomorrow on top of the 3S I got first, so if I order the Javelot before my better half has had some time to cool off I risk having it thrown at me. 🤣
@WeldingForJesus I totally understand that. lol 😆 I picked up the Marauder 2 a few months back, and man, it's a beast. Pricey, but like you said, best of both worlds for sure. I also got seeker 4 as well. Did a review on that one not to long ago. I put that one on my Truck bag. 👍
I like when I can throw out and see at distance but look more for lighting up the area around me first and for most!
I have this light that I personally bought it pushes out 14,000 lumens of flood, it's like turning on the sun 🤣 I did pay a pretty hefty price. Lol

One can never have enough good flashlights. This would be perfect for checking out my bedroom window to make sure no predators are after my chickens. The light throw with this one is fantastic! Great price too!

Thanks for the review, The thing I like most about the Javelot is the ability to have all of those different modes. I particularly like the Half lumen feature. I have one on order in the OD green.

Rewatching this video as I was making dinner when the other day and missed some of it. I like the size and for a little flashlight the throw is really good. I liked the flood too. I would use this if I was still doing security work as well with the saddle clip.
