      @H Az Shannon knows he never threw a block in his life and that's why Gronk is the best. Gronk did both. Shannon was a match-up nightmare because the defensive coordinators of his day thought he was a TE based on where he lined up. They should have always treated his team like they were playing with 3 or 4 wide. yeah, you're smaller but that biggish guy over there ain't there to block. Get out of that base D and win.

    I was not surprised Gronk decided to walk away...while he still can. He is a young man who made a quality of life decision. I can not fault him for that one bit. I was shocked when they said after 9 seasons. Maybe I am alone on this..but, with what he has been on the field and off...how often we heard about his numbers, and his just plain dominance for years...it sure seemed to me like he had been in the league longer than 9 years. i am not a Patriots fan, but, in 9 years, he left a mark on the league that took other guys far longer to make. It really feels like Gronk has been around got 15-20 years. I know he has not been the same guy in games recently..but, he is not one you just replace.

    • @cobfucious
      @cobfucious Před 5 lety

      It is completely unfair to compare generations to each other for the very reason you said. It was a different era..different game. You can not just pick players from any period in time and place them in another. Not anymore. Not with the rule changes of recent years... I know everyone likes to try to do that..or say this guy could play in any era...no. Today's players would get destroyed if you go 30+ years back, and anyone from then prior would be banned form the league before week 4 today. Maybe NBA ir MLB players could play in multiple generations, but not the NFL. You don't even have to go back 20 years and the game is totally different. Football players can only play the game the way it is in their time...None of these guy would walk away from a season 30+ years ago and earlier. If i had to even try to pick a position that could play back then..maybe linemen....maybe. BIG MAYBE.
