  • Hey guys! I finally found the Crafter's square adhesive vinyl, transfer tape, and tools at my Dollar Tree. I test it all out in this video and share my thoughts on how it works. If you've picked some up I'd love to hear your thoughts on what you like to make with the vinyl.

  • @dianemaksel4415
    @dianemaksel4415 Před 2 lety +16

    I recently picked up vinyl's in a bunch of different patterns (found red/black and white/black plaid and the cheetah print). I have only used the cheetah print to make earrings (on wood tear drops) and it worked very well. It was easy to cut and stayed put. Back in the spring I found the tools, I like the scraper. I compared the weeding tool and the spatula and noticed that the Cricut weeding tool has a more defined point on the end and the spatula bent pretty easily, but I think they are good tools for back ups or to keep in a travel craft pouch. I'm looking forward to making some Christmas decorations with the other patterns. Also - back when I found the tools, I also picked up some transfer tape. I've used it and really liked it, but noticed that the newer packaging is different. Mine has grids on it and is a larger roll. I wonder if they changed it to a lesser quality?

    • @KaylasCricutCreations

    Ive tried a few of them so far. The standards have worked just as well as other brands of vinyl but there is paper backing to he aware of. I just scrape the paper off the mat after weeding, since its not quite as thick as cricut vinyl. The DT glitters (rose gold and silver) are STUNNING under lighting, but a little hard to use. I would recommend a light pressure for them
    Love the DT extras though (scrapers, pink weeding pen, spatulas, etc.).

      I will try this setting since I had no luck on washi nor regular vinyl less pressure. It drags the material while cutting . Thanks for the tip!

    hi new cricut user, i’ve seen some hate on this vinyl probably all the dollar tree haters! but im so happy you gave these an honest go. i feel most people testing them out are too quick to judge. it’s refreshing to see an actual review trying to find solutions! thank you so much ☺️💛

    I left DT vinyl on default and it didn't cut my backing. It cut perfect and weeded it with easy. I have explorer air 2. I love it.

    Hi Kayla! I’m new to cricut crafting and I was excited to get started, but realistic about cost. I did get a dollar tree haul to practice my first cuts. I agree that it is not good on intricate cuts. I also tried the removable vinyl. I thought it was great with the large sample cuts like the trial lips when you first test your cricut.

    thank you I have a dollar tree right across from my apartment will go tomorrow and look. I believe I did see these there and it is a small town one so it is probably still available. I am new to using my Cricut Maker and eager to get started on many projects.

    The DT vinyl is a game changer. Hopefully it will put pressure on other suppliers to be more competitive. I definitely will default to it for 'short term' projects such as holiday decor.

      Completely agree!! Some vinyl is crazy expensive! Would love to see them try to compete lol!!

      The quality is crap though. You get what you pay for and it's best to do a job right the first time

      @@deavyhick6803 They said 'short term' projects. It doesn't make sense to use quality stuff for projects you're going to throw away at the end of the month

    I always have a hard time getting the vinyl to stay down when removing the transfer tape. But I overall love DT vinyl. I use it all the time. It's alot cheaper and leaves room for profit when selling crafts. I can also lower the prices and customers love that! Lol

    Thanks for the video! I couldn't pass up grabbing some of the rolls when I saw them but haven't having much luck so far. I will try again with your suggestions! The only think with the spatula tool is the dollartree one scratched my mat pretty bad. The cricut one hasn't left any marks on my mat.
