    Like Anderson, you can tell this meteorologist genuinely loves what he does for a living. The chemistry on camera as they interact is natural and obvious.

      Yeah that was a good question he posed. Anderson Cooper is becoming a better interviewer I think. This weather guy on here was a fun guy too. I remember the severe cold of Minneapolis. We had minus 38 f in the 90's but I've been gone for years. I remember how it felt. You could feel the cold PRESSING THRU THE WALLS.

    I grew up in North Dakota. I’ve been out in -100 wind chill. Dress properly, no exposed skin, and keep it to five minutes. It can kill you quite easily.

      I cowboyed on the Rosebud in SD back in '69. I've gotten off a horse and had to hold the horn to stand and stomp for 5 minutes straight, to get feeling back in my legs. Poor horse damned near froze, and me with him out there on the flats at dark-thirty and the temp about -50°F and the wind blowing about 50+.
      But I was a crazy teenager who would ride a horse to go see my girl when it was colder than a well diggers ass in the Arctic Circle. Nowadays If it hits 32° I start finding a fire. 😄

      I spent time I North Dakota, miss it. Funny thing. I went to market, -20. Started the car to warm it up, put groceries in back hatch, slammed it shut. Whoops auto door locks engaged. Locked out, car running. Called AAA. Got me back In in no time. He advised me to crack the window open enough to open door.

    The coldest I have ever been was being stuck on a ski lift for hours in White Face, NY. The temp with the windchill was 90F below zero. The chair was rocking and forth. I buried my head in my jacket. It was *so* cold than the second I took a breath in, it instantly caused me to cough. I will never forget that experience.

      @@thewirah1 probably for about 1-2 hours before they got the lift working again and/or the winds died down enough to operate it. But it was a miserable 60-120 minutes. So cold it physically hurt.

    The coldest I've ever had to deal with was -40F wind chill. I had to work in it for about 20 minutes. I can relate to the burning feeling of exposed skin. I had a small part of my forehead exposed for a couple minutes. I couldn't imagine -106.

    I do miss my winter ritual of taking a walk during nor'easter blizzard storms. Now in the Sahara, it kinda feels like late winter before spring or late fall before the first snow, but in the desert there's no moisture and the sun warms things up a bit during the day. I admire how this guy enjoys his job recording nature's extreme manifestation.

    I had to go to the office yesterday here in Ottawa, Canada and in the morning I heard with wind chill it hit -58F. I had to remove my glove for like 15 seconds to check the bus schedule (inside a bus stop), and my left hand felt an intense pain. Took me 2-3 minutes to feel my left hand again after putting it back in the glove and in my jacket's pocket. One of the worst thing I felt in recent memory, I thought my nose and cheek were going to fall off from my face.

    Brrr, in the '70's I worked in Slave lake Alberta, on a service rig . Oil . The coldest day we worked was -56 celsius ( -60 ish Fahrenheit) We took shifts of 5 minutes each, with a 20 minute break in between . And yeah, frostbite would set in within 1 minute. Nobody on our crew was so unfortunate . I've heard stories tho . ( It really testes the frostticles 🤭) Happy to be warm now, 9 c. Vancouver ,Canada 🇨🇦 cheers from up here

    The old original structure is “chained down” into the granite over the roof. Highest land wind speed ever recorded non tornado. Amazing place. I would love to visit in the winter.

    The past two days we have been experiencing a polar vortex in central-eastern Canada. In some areas, around the nation's capital of Ottawa, we hit -36°C/ -48°C (-32°F/ -54°F) with wind chill at night. It was absolutely brutal. I can't comprehend what -106°F(-76°C) must feel like.

    I went up there years ago in the winter time. Scary ride up. Side ways icicles - because the wind blows them like that. It’s like another world up there. The observatory was fairly basic in terms of accommodations. But they have everything they need for an extended stay because sometimes bad weather can isolate them for several weeks up there. Ice and snow all over everything outside. That was a very nice experience.

    I have experienced =65 f. it was to say the least insanely cold boiling water thrown in the air froze instantly . Also have stood {well attempted ] to stand in 100mph + winds on the ridge behind the house on St.Mary's glacier in Colorado many times these guy's at the weather station on Mt.washington are in what i call the death zone ... have been to the top a few time's and the weather on it is a global wonder ... brine ice so thick it doesnt seem possible ... Beautiful place ... stay warm Francis :)

      Am in Madison,N.H. and have a police scanner that gets N.H. Fish and Game , and the number of stupid decisions to hike the rock pile in winter is quite big..F and G has the lead( with great help from S and R , mountaineering , cold wx survival groups) and some intense hikes and searches..

      I remember growing up in upper Michigan when I was a little kid in like 1996 it was like 50 below with 90 below wind chill. Never seen anything close since then especially in Indiana

    Have been to the top of mount Washington in the summer and nearly froze to death in august. Both as a child and then with my children and each time it was a terrible experience!! The most extreme weather in the us are recorded there. Weird 😮

    I've been in -68° in a blizzard in a valley in the Rockies in Colorado near Pikes Peak back in the late 70s.
    Even worse,in 1981 I was in a blizzard on the Alaskan border where we experienced a record -98° arctic blast.
    We were tied to a chain line crossing buildings,wind was at about 50 mpr,it was surreal.
    You could reach your hand out and not see it in the snowfall,it was so dense.
    He's right,when its that cold,it feels like a chemical burn,you feel like you're on fire.
    I grew up in Colorado in Black Forest,we experienced -40 plus temps there somethings.
