  • This compassionate body scan by Kristin Neff is a beautiful practice for deepening our sense of self-compassion and body awareness. Sometimes when we do a body scan meditation, we encounter uncomfortable feelings and emotions, which is where compassion comes in. This practice is a reminder to be gentle and tender towards ourselves as we explore ourselves with presence and openness. It invites us to embrace the fullness of our humanity, imperfections and all.

My legs felt restless and kept moving but when she got down to the legs I was actually able to calm them and relax them and the restless sensation went away. Amazing. I felt more in control of my body.

I'm recovering from a fractured left shoulder and this was beautifully comforting. I was grateful that I could be grateful for my right arm which has had to learn so much recently and then compassion for my injured left arm 🙏🏼

Loving kindness for a good cute soap spirit soul named Olivia Somersille, I am scanning her body w/ the Buddha of eye compassion (equivalent to reiki, she already does a practice like this but perhaps my different location and perspective may reveal something different or perhaps she is just tired and could use being a recieved rather than only a self giver, she calls on the Friend), I see unnecessary energy attachments that this meditation is dissolving in a freezing wave from the ocean of unlimited divine love. It smells like soap and this is a sign that Olivia is happy.
Energetically Olivia is clean and surrounded by pure waters, waters of the holy land, those waters are freezing quicky binding away the old attachments that will be forced to move on to where they will be beneficial to the world not detrimental.
Within, Olivia is at the igloo of her soul, the good innocent world, pure light is there for her. There is warmth there for her. And the days and nights are long.
The 'water' flowing and freezing represents challenges caused by 'constriction' and massive nonpersonal change being removed by a now constant flow (spirit energy flows even better through frozen ices) of feminine creative wisdom
The spirit of water is important throughout this process as it teaches it's wisdom of floating through life. She is able to practice her religion personally and satisfyingly without overbearing upon others and without becoming a spiritual freak but truly absorbing selflessness. She succeeds in non guided meditation. Looking back in meditation, Ice crystals are what she has created, and therefore we shall al thank Olivia for stabilizing the natural ice on this planet, Earth. It was her special 'soap' that helped the planet, that made souls cleans and kept the water frozen, kind of like the story of the kid putting their finger in the dike to save the town from a flood. It's kind of beautiful her crystals could all be water, Olivia is Buddha now, crown chakra is optimal, people like her everyone intuitively but she's not exactly like famous or w/e just good karma! Aloha more vegetarian

I love her work. It's strange she would release such a tongue tied version though unless she did it live for a workshop or webinar. I am so grateful to her for her work . I was hypervigilant and after 3 months of listening to her meditations and some other work I was back to where I didn't need to listen to 3 hours of meditations and relaxation to just get through the day.

after maybe 5 forst minutes my mind kept wondering away & i was loosing her voice/my attention falling into a kind of nap/drowsiness. It keeps happening to me since several weeks whenever i try any kind of body scan. What can I do?... Why is it happening?

Hi! Drowsiness is very common during meditation. Are you getting enough rest? Start there. If so, try sitting up taller or meditating in a cooler, brighter place. You might also try applying mindful, caring curiosity to your drowsiness itself - explore what it feels like in your body. 💚

    Thank you. Love your narration.
    But......
The meditation seems to be missing Compassion for the Breath.
I was troubled that there was no clear focus on our most fundamental capacity to breathe.
Everything depends on the Breath. Why not begin with this?
I love your choice of flowing water but doesn't the Breath flow as well?
Perfect starting point for this meditation from my perspective.
    Everything begins with the Breath.
We are sustained with the Breath.
    Peace.
