  • In this video I talk briefly about the Quasar Science X Cross-Fade LED tubes.
    Disclaimer: I have no affiliation with Quasar Science. I just use their gear.
    Also should note, when I say "TLCI", that's not accurate. What I should say is CRI(re) which is Extended Color Rendering Index, and what the Sekonic C700 measures!

    Great video! Very thorough. Been digging around trying to get some answers before ordering a fixture and this is the first video that has answered them all. Thanks!

    Another nice review. Just saw these lights in action yesterday. I was pretty impressed, but wondering if it's a worthy addition to the kit. Have you been using these on paid shoots? If so, was it a Kino replacement fixture, accent, scratch light?

    • @CineInThe6
      @CineInThe6  Před 7 lety

      I've been using them a lot. They take up next to nothing in my truck and have been very useful because of their bi-color and very narrow profile. Been using them a lot as a hair/edge light.

    Are you using an extension cord for the tubes because they are extremely short

    Shame that you forget to record the Spectro Curve with the C700. to find out color spikes

    The power cable that came with my x-fade doesn’t fit snug, do you or anyone else reading experience the same issue?

    • @barrycheong4569
      @barrycheong4569 Před 7 lety +1

      The color meter is a Sekonic C700 and the light meter in an old Sekonic 608.

      But check around, since I made this video there are a lot more options out there. These were ok.

    hey bro i got my lights but I’m wondering if I’m doing something wrong cuz i pluged them in and neither one turned on. Is there a switch or something? Or do i need to hook them to an extension cord

    • @CineInThe6
      @CineInThe6  Před 6 lety

      They should just come on. Do you have it connected to a dimmer? Are you sure you’re wall power is live and working?

    Incredible video, what dimmer are you using?

    • @CineInThe6
      @CineInThe6  Před 7 lety +1

      Just a home built one I wired up years ago. The core dimmer component is the Lutron Athena dimmer.

      HATCH 86 Films the one I used in the video is one I made. The dimmer part is Lutron brand. I've generally had success with their stuff. Might do a follow up video about dimmer and battery powering tubes. Thanks for watching!
