I never understood why Aquaman was always the laughing stock of the Justice League, but once I saw him in action in the first Injustice I knew that he was no joke

The crazy thing is that in the modern age of comic books both Aquaman and Captain America got the same exact treatment, they’re both heroes who, in the golden/silver age of comic books were just seen as big jokes and were characters that everyone mocked whenever they talked about superheroes, but in the modern age they took these characters, reinvented them and made everyone realize they’re not as lame as you thought they were
Well, Aquaman isn't a hero. Heroes don't kill because that makes them anti-heroes.

@@coryv5679 You can still be called a hero if you kill, anti-heroes are called that because they don't carry regular hero attributes. Captain America kills and everyone still calls him a hero, not an anti-hero. Both can kill but most heroes don't choose to. Villains and anti-villains are the same as well just opposite of heroes and anti-heroes.

Yeah, they call him useless when he can drain water out of your body and has held entire tectonic plate that was quarter of the Earth, yeah. Or how about that he can effortlessly destroy armies with tidal waves and tsunamis. Even on land, his still 100x stronger than any human on earth. try to call him dumb and useless now.

Yep, he basically got betrayed and was almost crushed by rocks. Lost his arm but managed to retake his kingdom. The hook made him look even more badass.

Yeah he did before new 52 started I believe. Although that was changed with a hand made out of water that could shapeshift and dehydrate anything it touches

As a 46 year old man who has read all the old great comics of the golden age I can say Aquaman has always been one of my favorite characters. I always related him as poseidon as superman was zeus.
Definitely read the new 52 Aquaman. Incredible art, (as seen in vid) and a fantastic storyline with interesting and engaging dialogue. Widely thought of as one of the best in the New 52.
Considering that comic characters usually start looking like their movie counterparts I wonder how will they change Aquaman's look.

I don't know why people give aquaman so much flack. he is good addition to the justice league and has the most amazing powers ever not to mention that at one point he could control water to do his will. Yes in the beginning of the comic book era he fell in love with a dolphin but come give him some slack. He has come a LONG way from that and I have high expectations for the him in the new Justice League movie

Contrary to popular belief, he can't actually talk to fishes because fishes don't have the brain capacity to comprehend and communicate with complicated languages. They're just summoned through telepathy.
Okay okay. controlling sea-dwelling creatures is a big deal controlling not only fishes, but also those sea monsters is a serious feat.
I think that's one of the reasons why I hate Everything hates Aquamen.

I alway thought he was an underrated character.
I realize I'm watching three years after it was made, but THANK YOU. As a lifelong fan of Aquaman, even as a kid, I was teased because for some reason I identified with the King of Atlantis. I think because he ruled his own domain (the Seven Seas) and basically is the only superhero who handles underwater villains (Black Manta, Ocean Master, King Shark, etc) he truly is badass. Thanks for recognizing this.
A brilliant book called "The Science of Superheroes" once crunched the numbers and calculated that Aquaman would originally have been stronger than Superman. In his original appearances Superman could be knocked out by exploding bombs, while Aquaman can survive standing on the bottom of the ocean. If they hadn't made Superman as absurdly invincible as he now is, I reckon Aquaman wouldn't get such a raw deal.
Superman is not absurdly invincible now, he has been nerfed since 1985. Also Aquaman would still get a raw deal since Shazam, Martian Manhunter & Captain Atom are all much more powerful than him

He can override any aquatic animals brain. Mammals, lizards, ancient horrors, etc. He can even give land based animals, like humans, aneurysms because we all "came from the sea".

Honestly, Super Friends and The Dark Knight Returns are 2 of the worst things made by DC. Super Friends made the general public think that Aquaman is a useless, weak and lame character, while The Dark Knight Returns made people think that Superman is a government lapdog who is inferior to Batman.
