I imagine literature is quite hard to translate due to the nuances and grammatical differences
@@bassbusterx Yes, literature was part of my final semester. It was very difficult. Japanese is interesting because it can change depending on social standing/structure.
For instance - Slayer uses a very casual, informal, and truncated (almost lazy?) form of standard Japanese...but that is hard to get across to English.
A more English localized translation Haiku might be "It's good to do this, whether you will live or die, I leave that to chance" - but it was more poetic yet casual at the same time.
@@Cressx Creative writing grad here with some independent Japanese study on the side. I felt like weighing in, because poetry is supposed to feel very impactful with just a few words and your localization just did not land for me (though I totally get you probably didn't think on it too hard, it's a youtube comment lol). I think with localization it's common to take some creative liberties in favor of making it more impactful for the intended audience, so I would do something like this:
"If you should question / Whether to wither or bloom, / Leave it to the wind."
I kept the final verse faithful to the Japanese transcript and incorporated more natural elements to the rest, as traditionally, haiku most often has elements of nature incorporated. Final verses also usually are supposed to posit some kind of philosophical thought or question that is set up in the first two verses, so I've taken the liberty of assuming the point of the haiku is to say "You may live or die at any time, so give it everything you've got" and simply made it sound prose-y.

You actually can unlock the EX characters through beating there story mode. Not even both routes, just a singular route. Both routes unlocks the characters old stages from X2. Beating Survival unlocks there Shadow and Gold Variants which, does also include the EX versions. Or you can beat Accent Cores Mission Mode. Which unlocks EXs, Shadows and Golds.
Order Sol is so raw. Shame that chance of him being new DLC is practically nonexistent
Justice's destroy gave me PTSD from when I tried to unlock baiken in the 1st GG where I have to beat the arcade mode without using continue by Sol/Ky.
All that work defeating testament and then insta destroyed by Justice. I literally malding.
Slayer throws out a random Haiku with every IK. Also, it sucks that “usability” isn’t factored in because then Ky would get some bonus points as you could land it off a stagger, Justice’s IK is a quick full screen dash, Millia’s pillar homes, etc.
And Pots IK would be top usability. Lasts forever and whiff punishes so hard.

For Order Sol, how do you get that final hit from Morbid World? I remember doing the full input when playing and that final attack where he turned into a dragon didn’t happen. Is there a certain health threshold that the opponent has to be at?
Iirc it's exactly that, kind of like an execute where they need to be below a certain HP.
You could treat it as a health threshold, but it's not exactly that. Morbid World is just a regular Overdrive, other than for the fact it requires 100 Tension and Charge Lv 3. If it kills, it turns into an IK, but that part is just for aesthetics, it has to actually have the damage to end the round, the opponent's defense stat, guts, and combo damage scaling included in the consideration. Note that when it happens, what is otherwise the final hit in Morbid World would actually deal less damage than normal, in order to to allow the opponent to get hit by the additional IK hit.

Sol’s is so bad lmao. It misses on crouching opponents, meaning that sol straight up misses when some characters are dizzy.
I'd put Ky at 2 but only cause it's a full power version of a super
