Ronaldinho did magic and was really entertaining and better than Messi in that aspect, better dribbler, great scorer, but Messi surpass him in everything else. I love Ronaldinho he inspired me to play soccer, his style is the best, but well my personal opinion. Both Legends but Messi ofcourse the main one now. These were the days when defenders actually tried to get the ball from Messi and realize it's almost impossible to do so. Nowadays defenders always try to block his body or foul him which is annoying to see

Maybe messi not playing againts best defender like maldini, baresi or nesta. But defend nowdays is solid and more well organized, that mean its harder to score a goal, or even get pass them. Messi get pass and score a goal so easy. Messi without a doubt is greatest football player who ever live.

In these years I don't think any of us realized exactly who we were watching. He was a young and incredibly talented player. There are a lot of those. However, years of hard work, consistency and amazing moments finally told us who were watching. Not just Lionel Messi, but the greatest player in the history of football.

Messi himself said in an interview that diving wastes time and he prefers creating a scoring opportunity instead. Admirable!

I love it how some of his early skills/dibbling weren't always productive to the team but Barcelona knew he was special and gave him a license to do whatever he felt he needed to do. You can see some his team-mates getting confused with what exactly his was doing. They had no idea the power and finesse in his shots that he would come to develop
He started playing football in this messi way when he is 3, he plays in this same messi way even today at 34.
