A content plan determines the content you hope to create and sets expectations for how it should be created. Your content plan will outline who's responsible for making the content, what the content's purpose is, and how the content will impact your overall content strategy.

5 REASONS WHY YOU NEED A CONTENT PLAN AS A BUSINESS
1. FOR CONSISTENCY
Its going to be hard for you to stay consistent on social media and on other online marketing channels you have set up for your business if you don’t have a content strategy in place. Your posts will be random and will not have a common theme because you havent planned your content from the beginning.
Having a content plan will help you to direct the attention of your audience because you’ll determine well ahead what you want the public to know about your business, when they will know it and how they will know it.

A content strategy can help you develop a strong brand identity. One important part of building a brand identity is CONSISTENCY. Consistency of style, theme, color, logo and brand message. Without a content plan you just can’t be consistent in putting out content online. Just like the brands we showed their instagram page, they’ve built a strong brand identity over time. If you were to accidentally land on a domino pizza page, even without seeing the name, you can tell its domino pizza cos of the consistency in color, font, logo.
A content plan is the creative map of any business.

Over time, customers following you online will know exactly what to expect on your instagram page or website. For instance, a beauty brand that keeps posting body and facial beauty tips based on its content plan will become the go to page for a lot of young ladies that want to look good for every occasion.
