Sorry I've been gone.
It's been an absolute mess. For those who don't know, I've been finishing up my lawsuit, as well as awaiting final things about certain projects. But, since that's all starting to die down, I can finally release this song.
This song takes visual inspiration by a few friends, such as Skye ( / porcelainette , Bee ( / mahoushounen , and Lor ( / lovelylor )!
This song's basically about how people really want to make fun of you and how you don't fit in. But even after all that, we don't really care. But it gets to a point where we will scare the absolute HELL out of you, because we are very, VERY tired.
I took a lot of criticism in the past seriously, as well as took my own personal tastes to this video, instead of trying to be scary. I asked for help on the lyrics specifically, as well as tried to really change up my type of song I did, as well as the structure. It was a lot of fun! I know I still have a LOT to work on, but trust me when I say it's not over yet. I have a lot more songs to post and a lot more things to do.
This was actually finished MONTHS before the Chattering remix (which you can find here: • GHOST - Chattering Lac... ), but I wanted to try to see if something worked, via suggestion. If it does, you might see more remixes from me! If not, then uh... hey, more songs?
Regardless, August as been nothing but ICONIC for me, and I am so happy about all the things happening, especially comparing it to last year's train-wreck. (...bus wreck. get it? I'm funny I swear kjfshg)
Finally, I worked with the same people for Exorcism! I want to thank Jack for his amazing art! He did such an amazing job at designing the clown (named Kau) and the little details to the design make everything so much better! I want to also thank Bakyaan for doing such an amazing job on the video! He really came through with this, and never seems to doubt anything I do, and then give me these AMAZING results. And finally, Tora! I was looking for a tuner and when I asked him, he finished super quickly! He really came through so fast, and thanks to him I was able to finish up the song the next day to send over to Bakyaan! Thank you so much everyone. Like... I really don't deserve anyone.
And yes, previously you did read correct: I am working on my 2nd album finally, which has a lot of NEW content and WAY MORE collaborations! I think there's 4 or 5? And plus so many new songs, and old songs like Animalistic, Cotton Candy, Something Changed, and now, Clown! Also I've been debating whether or not to reveal the name of the album and I've decided...
I want to. I've gotten so much love and support from everyone, it's been insane. I literally could not believe all the love I've gotten in the past year, and how much everyone means to me. Really, you guys do.

I feel like this song could be about someone about to commit suicide, particularly a person who feels like a joke or a laughing stock.
Perhaps someone said something that made them the butt of what felt like every joke, and they had enough.
Very much, "This is the last chance you'll get to laugh at me, so have your laugh! Really funny right?! Watch me, I'm a god damn circus act, watch me jump!"
That's kinda the vibe I get from the lyrics, and to some extent the tone and tempo of the song being really fast but somewhat melancholy. It's very dissonant.
That makes me think of Sayori from DDLC. How she would be at school the day before killing herself. It kinda scares me...

Here's MY version of what the song means:
A person calls themself a clown. A clown is what they call themself since they put on a friendly face to make people laugh. However, behind their smile, they're actually very depressed. While they smile when they play a clown, they want to cry because of how much they hate themself. Soon they do break down into tears, giving off a scary face. Hence why the clown in the song goes from looking happy to scary looking at the end.
Why did the clown cross the road? To get his rubber chicken!
Why did the elephant leave the circus? He was tired of working for peanuts.

i think this is your strongest song you've made in a long time. super awesome to see how you've grown! the lyrics are catchy and clever, the instrumental is always awesome but super unique this time around, :-) really cool to see such variation in your melody lines too, i know ppl say you struggle with that but i think you proved them wrong here.
only thing id maybe suggest is to be a little less aggressive with gumi's high notes at the end of the song, theyre a little grating but don't inhibit my enjoyment of this at all! overall this is a song i keep coming back to and am definitely inspired by :^) keep up the good work!!
