The BEST Way To Get 3D Track From After Effects To Maya 2022!

- Hey everyone(: I switched to Maya for doing CGI related things and quickly found out that it was so frustrating trying to export a camera track from After Effects to Maya! I came from using Cinema 4D and it was so easy to do, you wouldn't even think twice about it! I'm super happy I don't have to worry about this annoying issue anymore ha (Don't use the old Script to try and transfer 3D track to Maya, IT SUCKS! I hope this video was helpful, let me know if you have any questions! Also if you are interested in seeing how I Integrate CGI elements in footage let me know!

you don't need Maya or max or blender to do this you can use Element 3D dude, but it's a nice tutorial and new skills.

Hey Thomas glad you enjoyed it! Yes you can use the VDB files in what ever 3D software. Works with blender! I’m gonna make a tutorial soon on this topic(: until then try just researching your question. Have you tried unzipping the file you downloaded?

I used this to make CGI videos from Maya and After Effects but the camera track isn't the same as my real camera view which means my objects are moving around a little bit. Do you know why?>
@@juyeonsung6365 Sounds like it could be the wrong frame rate? Make sure to right click on your footage and go to clip attributes to see if your frame rate is matching with everything. After effects automatically has everything set to 30Fps so when you import your footage always make sure you double check your frame rates.

I have and I don't know why I can't import anything into blender. I can't select the file to import into blender because it doesn't appear in the import window. I have saved the file and can find it inside the folder but not in the import window. This is making me lose a lot of time, anyone knows why?

my camera has no animation when i drag the fbx into maya do you know any fix?
it imports keyframes to the camera but they are all zereod out
Hey I would suggest giving that question a Google search. I remember having that problem and it was an easy fix. I just searched for an answer on Google.

Hey, I personally don’t have too much experience with using blender but all these softwares are pretty similar in the end so it really doesn’t matter too much on what one decide to choose. All depends on what you’re goal is. Maya is an industry standard, so there is that. But to answer your question Maya might be a little bit more difficult. You can definitely do everything that blender does in Maya! I think if you’re interested in trying it go for it!

I would just look up how to use VDBs in Maya on CZcams and you’ll see, it’s super easy (:

When I import the fax into Maya my camera doesn't move

@@odnu Deselect in the Blender export settings (Key All Bones, NLA Strips, All Actions and Force Start/End...) then it works + Simplify to 0 has he say in the video
