I sell Ram and I appreciate your video ......You did a nice job of showing the differences. Each has their merits to be sure and both are far better than a Chev.
If you look at the numbers here: www.fordf150blog.com/2019-f-150-3-5-ecoboost-vs-6-2-silverado-vs-5-7-hemi/ You'd think it'd be Ford > Chevy > Ram But at the end of the day I'd buy the Ford or the Ram before I'd get the Chevy. The F-150 always seems to do better where it matters and Ram really REALLY improved their looks over last year, so much so that I sometimes catch myself considering wanting one. So for me it's Ford > Ram > Chevy
@motownautospa he was making the point that he doesn't understand that "Ram" has remote start w/push button ignition. Without the intelligent access. He never said they don't offer it. In order to get that on the ford you need the lariat trim and it's both features in one package.
Same I have a 2015 ram 1500 Laramie and when I bought it the Goodyear wranglers or so bad I could break them loose by slowly accelerating out of a corner
Regarding the shifter knob I have a 2019 Ram Limited and I've forgotten to put it in Park and left it in Drive the truck notices that and Does shift it to park for you.
Comment on the dial shifter... The dodge stops moving if you open your door - drives me nuts when backing your boat into the landing and then open your door so you seen how deep your rear wheels are getting into the water and it stops/moves to neutral or otherwise won't keep backing up!!! You say it will keep moving if you left it in drive - it doesn't do that as far as I know - it actually will put it into "park" if you forget to shift it there when you park your vehicle. Good video - I am a FORD guy that tried a RAM to see what they're like. Granted I went from XLT to REBEL, I like the 5.7L - it goes like hell! The ecoboost is nice, but not as fun to drive. The mileage, however, is much better on the FORD. I get maybe 16 mpg in the city and 20 mpg on the highway with the RAM and of the 4 ecoboosts I've owned, I averaged 18 in the city and up to 28 mpg on the highway. One thing I love about the REBEL is the air suspension - no matter what you have loaded in the truck, it sits level. I am sure FORD has something equivalent, but I haven't owned that version (yet)! The other thing I'd mention about the RAM, I do not have the rear seats with the flat floor - mine has panels that fold out to make a flat floor... I do not like it. There is a lot less room for stuff in the RAM (IE: small tool box) than there is in the FORD. Also, the navigation system in my REBEL is so outdated it's practically useless... I don't bother using it and just rely on my phone. I would NOT get their GPS package and just use your phone (connected to the system). My FORD GPS's were much more up to date. As far as rebates and leasing goes, FORD has much better options and is overall more affordable than RAM IMO. One nice thing with the RAM for the guys who still like to tear it up, when you shut off traction control, you can whip sideways and tear it up! My FORD's worked differently - when you turn the traction control off, if allows you to spin the tires, but the vehicle dynamic system still functions so as soon as you start sliding, it "brakes" the tires to straighten you back out... in other words, you can't whip shitties! Honestly, I like both trucks. RAM is more fun drive - FORD is more of a real truck = my 10 cents.
With the Ford if you hold down the traction control button for 8 seconds it shuts off the stability control so you can whip shitties. Lol I have a 2020 F-150 and my friend bought a 2020 Ram a couple months later. I can definitely tell you both these trucks are pretty evenly matched and they each have their pros and cons. But definitely both good choices.
Alright so I see this comment is years old But I had the same issue backing up the truck with the door open. Buckle your seat belt and all that turns off.
Found that out while driving a rental. Was trying to back in a tight spot head, opened door and popped heat out and damn near fell out of the truck. That’s not something I would want lol
You asked for our thoughts, well here is mine: I’ve had the chance to take both trucks home for several days. The overall feel and driving experience of the ram was more enjoyable and driver engaging. The one I had had a sport appearance group with LED headlights. The interior fit and finish was remarkable. Super quite, no rattles or creaks. The turn knob took time getting used to. The infotainment system was super sharp and responsive. I kept reaching for a non existent shifter but loved the 8hp75 transmission. I did not like the fake piano surround on the ram and found it annoying with fingerprints. The Ford was more “truck” like. The 302A group has some nice features, but the overall feeling with the touch screen seemed dated. I noticed a slight misalignment on the dash and there was this slight, but annoying dash rattle on this particular truck. Seating in both was good but the steering wheel felt better and more confidence inspiring in the Ram. The Ford also felt a little more “plasticky” with essentially everything being hard touch. The Ford drove very well, but the ram was just better on just about every road. Felt more control and more connection to the truck and the road. I ended up deciding on the ram but in a Laramie trim. Both are good trucks though. A side note! What the heck was Chevy thinking.... 🤦🏼♂️
Agree. Both great trucks! I personally went with the F-150 and haven't had any of the issues you pointed out. I test drove the RAM, too, but didn't get as good of a deal. Didn't even test drive the Chevy. haha. I knew my decision would be between Ford and Ram.
The Ram and the Ford are great because they're built in the US of A. The GM stuff, they're mostly Mexican. Apart from the base work trucks and fleet vehicles that are still made in the USA, the mid and high trim levels are built in Silao, Mexico.
When I was looking for my new truck it was between the Ford and Ram. I was looking at the limited trim for both. I was looking for a truck with a lot of luxury. I went with the Ford because I enjoyed the engine power and the outside look of the Ford. The Ram interior is the better between the two but for me the outside of the Ford sold it. Also the Chevy/GMC trucks don't come close to the level that Ford and Ram are on. That's a reason Ram has gained so much ground in terms of sales to the Chevy.
@@mattmakowsky Ram gained ground on Chevy because they are actually improving their trucks over time. Chevy is actually copying Ford's strategy of releasing a new truck every half a decade, and yet they can't keep up. Ram just releases a new truck once every 9-10 years, and the next generation is always a significant step above the previous generation. GM just doesn't do that. Also, if you're a Ford, Chevy or Ram lover, why even bother with testing out other trucks? You already have a favorite. Actually, a lot of GM people are converting to other brands.
You forgot to mention the Ford feature where the doors won’t latch when frozen...despite several attempts by Ford to fix this, the feature persists...Advantage Ram!
Despite being a Ford salesperson, I have to say you were about as fair as anyone could be, but there was still bias. The comment about the "flex" in the front fender was very misleading. Obviously this was an attempt to sell people on the aluminum aspect of the F150. The movement at the front of the fender on the Ram is not due to the material it's made of, but due to the fact that the fender is not fully supported out to the very front near the headlight. Aluminum is considerably more brittle and does offer a more ridged surface, but being brittle also makes dent repairs more complicated and costly. In a way from an engineering perspective I'm not sure I'd talk about flex at all. All truck bodies flex. you can say that the new frames on the aluminum-bodied F-150 are stiffer, but there will always be flex. The reduced susceptibility to flexing with aluminum is also a detriment. Over time repetitive flexing will cause the metal at stress points to fatigue and crack. The difference in the load weight between the F-150 and Ram 1500 is not the rear suspension and the fact that Ram uses coil springs! The difference is available to the F-150 simply because the vehicle unladen weight is less. The claim that the ride difference between the two trucks is too close to judge is the unfortunate Ford salesperson mantra. Those leaf springs in the rear cause considerable more rear hop than the coils on the Ram. I've been in both, there is no comparison in ride quality. Even the new Silverado rides better than the F-150. Also, if you stop the Ram in Drive and open the driver's door, the E-brake is automatically applied.
I own a 2018 F150 and really enjoy it. Just FYI, I would put very little importance on the flexing exterior body parts. Body panel parts have almost nothing to do with structural integrity. Many manufacturers purposely have softer or some give flexibility body panel parts to lessen injuries with vehicle/pedestrian accidents. What you passed over, which is a HUGE DOWNFALL with the XL and XLT is that Ford will NOT give you 4 Auto in 4x4 equipped model, Chevy and Ram does. Read about the perils of 4x4 transmission windup.
You might not want 4x4 auto.. even with warranty and new tech, id stay 100 miles away from that setting. what do you think happens when your back tires are spinning and the front has to engage. hard on stuff and breaks stuff. They may have implemented a system that is better but i wouldn't trust it. I live up in Canada where all vehicles have to endure 7 months of winter every year and ive seen sooo many people come in and say their t-case it making noise or their front wheel bearing area is grinding, get in the truck and its in 4x4 auto.
Okay so here is a long list of missed facts that heavily reflects the strong ford bias here. (Also I still plan on buying a 2019 denali over both the f150 limited or ram limited/longhorn (only difference between the two trims is appearance), but it still annoys me when dealer based youtube channels try and sell a vehicle over their competition with a "fair comparison" which is why i'm making this list) -ram has been seperate from dodge for years now, js -The coils do not have any impact on towing, as the ram 2500, which uses coils, has 200lbs more tow capacity than the f250. The towing difference is down to the aluminum body's weight reduction, which ford throws into payload/tow capacity. (also f150 drivers have noted that it is very stressful towing near capacity as the trailer blows the lighter truck around easier than any other half ton, but I have no personal experience towing 13,000 in any vehicle so hence the parenthesis) -that ram is poorly speced with having a sport apperance package over no running boards, anyone who needs them or is a considerate person to their passengers would have them on the truck anyways, even if it was part of the negotiations at the dealer lot for the dealer to put some on. -That bedliner must have been added at the dealer, as the sticker does not have the 595 dollar bedliner option on it. also its about 40 dollars cheaper to get spray in bedliner from the factory on a ram, but thats just nitpicking -The price difference between the two hemi's is because of the e-torque mild hybrid system. The tow rating comes from the second one because of the electronic assist motor, not from any higher output from the hemi. You claim the price increase from standard hemi to etorque hemi is insane, but the price from the 2.7 ecoboost to the 5.0 coyote is actually more and the 2.7 and the towing difference between the two options is functionally identical to the difference in the hemis -Fuel economy when using the ecoboost when towing large loads will be lower than competitors due to the nature of turbochargers. Ford knows this as the new 7.3l was designed with towing fuel economy in mind vs highway cruising fuel economy. -The ecoboost takes "pride" in requiring only regular to the hemi's need for midgrade, but the hemi gets its full power rating with midgrade while the ecoboost needs premium to get its max power rating. So if you tow a lot you will be using premium fuel which means you will spend way more on fuel, as the turbocharged engine will get less towing mpg and use a more expensive fuel. -Start/stop in the ram is more thoroughly designed with the etorque system. Only trucks with the etorque have it, and the system uses a traditional starter to start the vehicle initially, and uses a mild hybrid system for start/stop, which has its own power source so there is no additional wear and tear on the starter and battery of the truck. It also uses the electric motor for the first half rotation of the wheels when going from a dead stop so there is ample time for the engine to start back up so there is little to no perceivable latency off the line. -After making several points about etorque, im pretty sure you didn't even know the ram 1500 came in a mild hybrid. -the ecodiesel was not axed, it is having epa certification issues that is delaying its return, but it is still planned to ship 2019 "all new" rams with the ecodiesel before the end of the model year. -The truck has a safety feature where if the truck starts moving with an open door it will automatically apply the electronic parking break, it will not roll with an open door. So this complain is wildly invalid. -you can put file folders in the console, just not as many as the f-150, just wanted to point that out even though the f150 has the superior file management system -In most reviews from independent reviewers I have seen, they would take the Uconnect over sync 3 every time. Maybe all the reviewers are "more technologically advanced" but its still an observation worth noting. -You completely wiffed on the 12v plug on top of the dash for dash cams, it is the only vehicle I know of (at all) that has a dedicated dash cam plug, anything else either runs down your dashboard to your console or you have to modify the vehicle and hardwire it into the 12v line of the mirror -The ram's center console is much more phone/tablet friendly. It is easier to place up to two phones on chargers in the ram and the smaller top compartment in the console is specifically designed to house an 11 inch tablet on a charger without issue. -with physical buttons in the ram, you can turn off parking sensors independently of each other. This is great for not only backing up your truck to a trailer, but also when on any non paved surface so the truck doesn't stop for every rock higher than 2 inches And things you didn't even give the f-150 credit for are things like the larger fuel tank options (36 vs 33 gal), the 10 speed auto transmission over the 8 speed in the ram, the much wider range of rear axles available to the f150 (the hemi only gets two options) you are the pinnacle of salesmen. Please for the sake of buyers, stop making comparative videos
Also he forgot to mention that the ram does have the same fx4 but it is called 4x4 package that have locking rear axle and skid plates and a/t tires falken wild peak (better than goodyear wrangler kevlar in offroad )
this guy made me realize that i made a great decision getting my big horn 1500 night edition with the 12 in screen. i love it plus that hemi sounds awesome when you floor it.
@@mr.tapeguy3606Tapeguy anything man made will last from 1 minute to 100 years ... anyone says otherwise is either not from this planet or they work for Congress
I owned two f150s and I might be getting a ram soon. So I like both trucks👍 but the ram is killing it in 2019. Ram looks amazing. Fan of all 3 brands 💯
Agree! This whole "my truck brand is better than yours" is so childish and stupid frankly. GM, Ford, and Ram all offer some beautiful trucks. Honestly, any 1/2 ton truck right now is a very well built machine, which with regular maintenance will get you many years and miles of enjoyment.
Before you buy any truck make sure you check with owners that have 50,000 miles or more on their truck, because that is the true test on durability and Ford always beats the competition...MAGA
I have a 2019 Ram and have been happy with it. I do agree I loose things in center console as it goes all the way through but I love having that huge bin right in the middle. You can put a gallon of mile in thier if you want too, things like takeout food fit in nicely without having to worry about setting on the seat or somewhere you could get stains if it leaks.
He forgot to mention the Ram's built in active noise cancellation. I've experienced it and it is awesome. He also failed to mention the phone/tablet holder in the front of the Ram's console. It is very handy!
SteelCity1981 there’s no way they’ve fallen behind chevy. Have you bumped your head? I own a ram and I’m completely unbiased. But the chevys interior is absolutely hideous. The seats are horrible. But to each their own !
I instantly think about Anton Yelchins Jeep that killed him for that very reason, and the countless other accidents. It's a newer feature, over the last few years, but a great safety feature if you ask anyone affected by it.
Great video. I have a 2015 RAM Ecodiesel which gets 28mpg city and highway. Pulling a 6000 trailer I got 19 mpg on a 900 mile drive. I like how I have the option of pushing the center console up for a sixth person. I like the dial shifter. What I don't like about it is it is difficult to shift to neutral and turn off the engine to roll. I like the fact you pointed out the RAM was not as strong on the body. My roof has dents from my pecan tree!
My Ram 5.7 v8 etorque has 19 mpg which beats the F150 5.0 v8 18mpg I almost bought. And my Ram auto unlocks when I grab my handle but I got a '20 limited so... Also 12" screen on the ram rocks!
Pretty sure they fixed that as well but it's like saying there needs to be a safety so you don't hit your thumb with a hammer. Duh. Don't get out of a vehicle without putting it in park. We need smarter people not more safety nannies.
@@Hundert1 after that comparison, I doubt he will be able to sell another Ford. 😂 He surely can sell a Ram though! Just polish up a few of those inaccuracies on the Ram, and he would be set! Lol
You lost me at the emergency braking feature. I don't want that crap on my vehicle. There are times when a swerve will avoid an accident that breaking would cause you to get rear ended.
I own a 2019 Ram...the knob shifter does have a “safety switch”....although the vehicle stays in “drive” the vehicle will NOT drive with any of the doors open...it will stay stationary until all doors are secured and a notification asking you to secure all doors will come across your speedometer screen...trust me...I have experienced this myself many of times.
I recently switched from a 2018 F-150 Platinum to a 2019 Ram Limited. In this video the RAM does have the offroad package, which is equivalent to the FX4, skid plates, 1' lift and locking rear axle. Great point on the rear glass, Ford looks the best by far. The 3.5 ecoboost is a monster that I loved to drive and tows awesome but mileage is not a good as advertised. I have to strongly disagree with the leaf/vs coil spring comment. They are dual rate springs, soft ride and great load handling capability. Also very easy to lift, (did it last week on a bighorn). I've grown to love the rotary shifter, it frees up tons of space in the center console, which is now massive in the ram, for 2019 it does put itself in park! The file folder point....its 2019 we have Ipads/tablets. The Ram has way more USB chargers along with the new USB-C and wireless phone charger. The push button start and full keyless entry is an option. Works great on my truck. I do really miss the key pad but I can use the Uconnect app on my phone to lock/unlock and start the vehicle with the keys inside. Back seat room.... at 18:30 you show the dimensions. Rear legroom Ram: 45.2 Ford 43.6. At 25:53 you say "not nearly as much leg room" HAHAHA give me a break!!! Obviously you're going to lean Ford but you can't show the facts and then choose to ignore them 7 minutes later. That said, nothing in the industry touches the 2019 Ram with Air-ride, the ride quality, load carrying, and trailering confidence is second to none. Period. The biggest reason I bought the Ram is the interior not even close. Style, materials fit and finish. 12" screen is awesome too! All in all great video, you made an effort to be fair. I respect that. I can't wait to see the 2020 F-150's!
Okay, lost my attention when he said you had to unlock door with key fob. Also for the same price he is comparing, you can get a nice Laramie with all the features he said Ram does not have. My Sport Laramie pretty decked with $55,513 sticker and out the door price of $43,000. Both are nice trucks and it looks like Ford is getting a little nervous.
Well..... I watched the video and gathered my thoughts! Jumped in my Chevy Avalanche, headed to the Dodge dealer and bought a new......... Charger Scat pack! I love it!!! And my Chevy is just fine!
The ram isn't a normal 4x4, it also has the off-road package. Good Lord, I used to respect you guys, but you just can't admit that the ram is the better vehicle.
Fit and finish is nice on the RAM, but it is still a RAM. Plus the fact that they copied the look of the oldest truck on the market, The Toyota Tundra is lame... FCA has horrible reliability too..
@@joshuaschwartz3738 Toyota Copied Dodge in 2007 when they came out with thier new design with the mini drop fender look, so it's only natural to think that the Ram now looks like a Toyota
I've had 13,14, and now a 19 ram. Ive never had any reliability issues with any of them. 13 was a 2 door(had another kid) so i got the 14 quad cab. Then traded it in on the 19.
@@jfrakes9644 I've been in my 2004 ram 1500 4x4 quad cab hemi for 8 years now and 100k miles, and the only problem I've had was the rear pinion bearing went out in it, which I know is a common occurrence in them, but in all honesty it was my fault, because I saw for 6 months leading up to it that I had an oil leak in a rear seal. So I could have prevented it by replacing the seal first. My interior is still in great shape, no cracks in the dash, and zero rust on the body living in Colorado. This was my first ram purchase, and made me a fan for life. I've owned Ford and Chevy half tons in the past, and this is hands down the better truck
This guy keep making comparision to Ford Lariat and not the actrual XLT model. You have to learn to stay on topic. "Ford has this feature too but you have to step up to the lariat" IDK how many times he said that......
I said the same thing lol he was like ram has it but if you go up to the Lariat Ford has it as well which means you have to spend more on the Ford lol. I just bought a 2019 Ram Laramie night edition sport and I love it. I sell Chevy and have sold Ford and there really isn't a comparison. Ford is outdated. He basically said if your dumb and cant figure out how to use a touch screen stick with Ford in not so many words lol
I bought a new F-150 3 months ago, but I seriously considered the Ram. I think both trucks are much better than what Chevrolet is offering right now. I think the Silverado just looks odd. All of this comes down to personal preference. I loved the radio in the Ram, but I did not like the shift knob. It just feels wrong in a truck. I like my Ford column shifter. It reminds me of my old Ford trucks I used to own. Both trucks look good too. I'm not to worried about the "flex" of the Ram's front fender. The last item that sold me on the F-150 is that I get much better gas mileage with the 2.7 Ecoboost than I would have gotten with the Ram, yet both trucks are plenty fast. As I said, to each his own. I'm happy with my choice.
I thought he might have actually tried to be as unbaised as he could for a second. Then he tried to say people believe RAM axed their 3.0 diesel because it has been so problematic. Lol. Your telling me a dealer who knows the competition well enough to know you can not get the EcoDiesel ATM doesn't know it's due to EPA certificatation. Then I heard him say that the Ram with the Etorque is just the same engine but twice as expeny when in reality at the least it bumps MPG numbers above the 5.0 to 17/23/19
And then the dig at the beginning when he tried to say he thought RAMs were thousands on top of thousands less than the ram when most reviews talk about how much better of a value the ram is and how it looks a lot more expensive.
I tend to watch 5mins of his videos and turn them off because he is painfully biased. I never buy anything from a salesperson who simply spits inaccuracies about their competitors. Be honest and people will appreciate you.
I was going to say that I wish someone would buy a F150 from him then sue the dealership due to false claims but I'm pretty sure the lawyers went over this video. He says how some people believe that Chrysler axed the 3.0 instead of stating it actually happened. Then when he says it doesn't have as much room while sitting in the back of the RAM he doesn't actually say the RAM has less room and in the F150 he says the seat is set to where I had it when in the front which of course he doesn't say when sitting in the RAM and they make a point to show the real dimensions in each truck. Also when he is talk about the intelligent access he makes it seem as the RAM doesn't have the same feature available but while saying this truck doesn't have it
I wouldn't call them lies but they were definitely highly biased opinions. He states he doesn't know why RAM uses springs? Well because people use their truck as a daily driver and when not hauling don't want it to ride like a buckboard. They are willing to sacrifice the additional 200 lbs. for the smoother ride. Also, the Ford does have better fuel economy that's a clear fact.
RAM also has AT&T 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot with the Uconnect. Great video I know this is from a ford bias as you said a few times, I personally work at a RAM dealership you’ve mentioned a lot of incorrect things about the RAM trucks. I love both trucks I wouldn’t be able to decide which one to purchase.
My Ford F150 has AT&T 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot with the Sync3. My Dad owns a Ram, and the only difference i see is the noise. Dodge does do a better job with insulating and sound deadening. My F150 with the 5.0, however smoked his 5.7 Hemi.
I drive ford, dodge and gmc at my job in multiple trims and features from each manufacturer and the fords and dodges are all around far better truck than gmc.
Noah Sutton I love a v8 but for every day driving I went with the EcoBoost for mpg, I will tell you if you drive an EcoBoost more aggressive or tow then hands down v8 way to go
Yea the Ram is where it’s at, I have a 2018 bighorn 4x4 Hemi (got it cheaper due to new body on the lots). The Ford F-150 is a good truck and I like some of the features. I was coming from a 98 F150 with 320k miles and really wanted to get that longevity with a new one but after test driving both I went with the ram. The Hemi felt much more like a truck power plant especially in 4low than the F150 5.0, the ecotech seemed to struggle under a load and had me worried about longevity, now the ram needed headers right off the bat due to exhaust manifold being iron on aluminum heads but I love it.
Research your trucks fool. Ram Off Road package has skid plates, tuned shocks, hill descent, upgraded tires, premium wheels, and elocker. Much better off road package than FX.
The ford has everything that it has except the skid plates. And if you want an off road oriented truck like the ram that isn’t a ram. Don’t get a work oriented truck. Get a raptor or something that comes with everything you mention plus some.
He’s talking about the tired and said the rams tires sound “cheap” he didn’t even look at the prices lol. Thanks or helping me make the easiest decision of my life! I’m getting the RAM!
The Ram 1500 is more an SUV alternative than a work truck & tower. Yes, it can still be a work truck and compete with the F150 for light pickup duties, but Ram is clearly targeting SUV and first time truck buyers And in doing so, they have also produced a truck that has Ford and Chevy guys reconsidering their next truck buy. Very clever move by FCA.
@@randomperson7135 I'm talking about the half ton truck market. Ford has dominated that market followed by the GM twins The 1500 is competing with the market leader 150 who didn't have a diesel option until recently. Ram has been slowly improving it's build quality, and interiors and is now routinely consulting it's buyers for features of their trucks that they would like. Ford has been simply doing it their way and only their way for the last decade, expecting their customers to remain loyal and praise whatever they do. I am a ford guy with their cars. I've never been interested in trucks until recently. I then started looking at the Fseries, how ford builds their trucks, the powerstroke and the competition. Ram 1500 is now the best truck to buy .... for first time buyers or as an alternative to an SUV.
@@SSMJ 2015 might not. Early 8 spd trucks didn't do it, but after a few people ran them self's over they have a recall that would add it to trucks that didn't.

Having had both a 2018 Ram and a 2018 Ford I can say the Ram had the nicer interior but I prefer the drive of the F150 with 3.5 EB over the Hemi V8. Both had their pros and cons but both had more pros than cons. My F150 is a fully loaded lariat with the sun roof while my Ram was a big horn. Definitely liked the look of the Ram overall. All that to say it's really a personal preference.

Conveniently left out the higher price of the leather in the F-150 as well. Trying to make it look better than the Ram, that was an EPIC fail. Ram is the better looking truck inside and out.
@@amandasnider9573 No doubt! Ram has done a great job with their interiors. Ford needs to take a hard look at their interior designs and material choices.
I wanted to say that I really appreciated the candor and honesty of this video. A bias was stated at the outset, but I think the analysis was fair and balanced. Well done.
The features he is complaining about on the ram is totally false. The Ram that they have was simply lacking features that are offered on a different technology package. Such as the push button start, the doors opening on touch is part of the enter and go system, push button by itself is just one thing, not necessarily part of the enter and go. The ram is an awesome truck, and so is the ford. Owning both, I can say that they they are both nice but feel differently, and thats about it.
I’ve put over 2,000 lbs in my 2015 ram 1500 bed and it did fine you really wouldn’t have noticed it at all and the suspension held up fine and the vehicle still drove like brand new when I sold it at 184,000 miles without ever needing to do anything other than regular maintenance no parts needed to be replaced other than brake parts obviously
My 2017 Ram has passive entry, unlocks when you touch the handle, It wont go anywhere if you leave it in drive and get out, reverse either. It has air ride suspension, auto levels when you have a trailer, squats for you to get in, or climb in the tailgate, or remove things from the bed, or need to get under the hood, and is the smoothest riding vehicle on rough terrain that I have ever seen by a LARGE measure.
That one big Window gonna need to be replaced, vs the ram only needing a small square. Tell F150 Not use to replacing windows. 14,000 LB Towing for Ram.
Been driving pickups for years. Never had to replace a window. Complete non issue for most people. I have a Ram 1500 big horn as my personal truck and drive a f250 for work. No comparison in ride quality, ram wins hand down. Fit and finish, no comparison, Ram wins again. My rams 5.7l engine performs equally good to my 6.2l in the Ford. Neither are fast vehicles but have ample power. Honestly most of this stuff mentioned is subjective. Drive the Ram and feel the difference the suspension brings and argument is over
Also the shifter dial locks into place while driving so if Carlos Santana is on it won't move while your driving !!!!! Again !!!!! Facts !!!!!! Get it right !!!!!!!
I value your input but I just traded in my 2018 F150 for a 2019 Ram 1500 and the ride and interior quality of the Ram surpasses the F150. I also drove the Chevy and I can tell you they have plenty of work to do.
@motownautospa "we know" is a collective of opinion. Sales show that the ford is still the most popular truck. Almost every one of those sales proves the purchaser thought the Ford was best choice for them. Ram is a very distant competitor to Ford for sales. But you are welcome to share your opinion. I don't mind. My choice in 2016 was Ford over Ram in 2016 and my choice again in 2018 for a 2019 Super Duty because there is no competition for rear seat room from Ram or GM
@@THEDESTROYER711 mega cab is the old ram crew cab with a sliding seat, and a space behind it. And it's an old form factor(almost identical to the 2006 mega's). I wanted an 8 foot bed and a crew cab. There is a lot of difference in the crewcab 8' bed trucks. Ford is 176" WB, 266.6" overall Ram is 169" WB, 259" overall GM's is 167" WB, 258" overall There is 9" missing in WB and 8.6" missing overall with GM vs Ford. I wonder where that space is lost considering they all have 98" beds?? If you look closely at all the specs on all the trucks you will see which is roomier. I couldn't deal with the gm 60.4" rear hip room vs ford's 65.4", two car seats and a 12 year old need to fit, not to mention passing infront of the carseats for ingress and egress
Adam Kalman yea I laughed when he tried to call it cheap and then moved over to the Goodyear’s and tried to say they were the superior tire. Not in any way
My 15 ram had the dial. It took me about 2 weeks to stop grabbing for a column shifter. I drive Ford super dutys all day at work, so that was why it probably took so long for me to adjust.
At least he's honest and says it's a very biased review towards Ford. My Ram knob shifter locks the wheels if I leave it in drive and open a door. I totally love my Ram 1500 Laramie. And the key fob can remain in pocket while you grab the handle which automatically unlocks doors. Ram interior blows away Fords. Get the Ram with the front bench style seat, it's AWESOME WONDERFUL.
Did you just call that ram 1500 a dodge?🤬also it looks like a ram 1500 not a tundra you are terrible for comparing it to a tundra. This is a terrible review because you are a brand loyal Ford lover so obviously you praise the f150, I am not brand loyal i have had f150s Silverados Sierra's and rams currently own a 2019 ram 1500 Laramie because it's way better than the f150 in my opinion not bashing Ford because I like them too. If f150 can make the next gen better than the ram 1500 I'll buy one again until then I'll enjoy my Laramie.
Dont lie... I know that you just went and bought that Ram. You fell in love with it at the end of your video... those floor storages made you tear up a lill. 😂🤣😂🤣😂 go head and admit it. RAM is better. Hey, u might a well go work for them too cause u just lost for all thier truck customers. You did a great job selling that Ram. I want two of them please
I've got a 2016 F150 Lariat w/ 502A options package. I love most everything about it. From Push Start and auto unlock when you have your fab in your pocket. I also have the full 8.1" instrument panel screen. Much classier look than smaller 3.5" screen. My previous vehicle was a 99 Ram. And yes, it did ride good. But the shocks wore out and soon after I sold it to a friend, he had to replace the shocks all around. Oh, the truck only had 55K miles on it when I sold it. In comparison, I just turned over 10K miles on my 2.5 year old F150. And as far as handling? I can drive at pretty fast speeds and take bumps pretty smoothly. I would have never dreamed of doing that in my Ram.
My dad recently got a Ram 1500, traded in his Sierra (he's not a Ford guy). It's a nice truck, rides well. He likes that it rides like a car, his words not mine. Asked him about payload yesterday, and he said it was good. Thanks for this, and confirming what I thought, Ford edges this out. Excited for the 2020 redo. Ford is on a roll!
Why would you get out of a vehicle with it in drive? So much misinformation about the RAM... The Uconnect is such a better system (more responsive) and a much better quality screen.
Tsai Ing-Wen is piece of old asshole no lol, but my weld truck is a Ford F-350 and I own a 2019 ram 1500, and I dont know man there is just something about ram that made me fall in love with it.
I was always all about Ford. I just bought my 1st Dodge Ram 2019. I do not like the flimsy fenders, but I am sure they going no place. He can say all he wants but there is no replacement for displacement. The hemi is a very strong engine, very fast. It grips you into the seat if you mash that pedal. Originally I wanted a bench like my previous F150 But this Ram console is awesome. Versatile. I am not worried about locking it. If I can't trust you then you should not be in my vehicle any way. The pistol? Put it in the floor board behind you. Your gun should have a lock on it and the case of the gun should have a lock. That ford console ain't gonna keep nobody out, just rip that open right quick. Ram dashboard is sick on every model. That dial for transmission - I thought it would be weird. I took to it like a fish to water and never even sat on my mind something was missing. His argument about opening the door while the truck is in drive - look, if you do not know to put your truck in park someone needs to take your license before you hurt someone. Ram has much more room inside than Ford. On Ford I can push sit all way back and reach pedal no issue, I am 5'11. On the Ram - I could not do that and recline. Would be hard to reach. Light in the bed? Really? Step Bars? Better wheels? All these things are available on Ram. He is wrong about towing. If you gonna tow 6 tons, you want a bigger truck. Once you get into the Ram MegaCab, Ford quickly fades away. I went to 3 dealers - 1st I went to Ford (prices were insane and nobody was eager to sell or offer any deals) 2nd went to GM, nobody even came out to talk to me, prices were also insane. 3rd, I went to a Dodge dealer and they just kept lowering and lowering the price - I went from $47k or so to $36k in a flash. I got everything I wanted. Ford? They were starting at $32k for a base model with no power windows. I have installed electronics on vehicles for over 20 years - I drove many vehicles. Been in thousands of interiors - RAM actually got it right. Very surprising Dodge could pull it off. Side by side the RAM in real life looks nice. Great sounding exhaust. About to get Flowmaster kit. I don't think I will return to Ford any time soon. They are too expensive.
I have driven several rental cars with the dial transmission and I have hit R so many times by mistake. I felt like I would strip a transmission with a car like that over time.
Just bought a new 2019 Ram 1500 Bighorn on 7/21/19 and paid $35.6k on a $50.7k window sticker !!! Went to get a loaded Challenger with the 5.7, but for $1k more, ended up with my First Truck and 4 wheel drive !!! The interior is beautiful, roomy and comfortable. The ride because of the coil spring suspension is like a Lincoln Towncar !!! Only thing is that there is so much electronic components in this truck that I went to Walmart after I left the dealership and bought a fire extinguisher along with a K&N air filter !!! All in all I’m impressed with Ram 🐑 !
I wish I had the full length boards. My truck came with the spring-open steps underneath, but Michigan weather has them opening poorly at 38k miles. I'd take the full length boards any day.
So.....according to this video in order to get all the features on the dodge, you have to "step up" to the Lariat edition in the Ford. So what you are saying is the Dodge has more features for a cheaper price. Got it.
Some of the features he forgot to mention Ram has that the ford didn't. Garage door opener, sun visor vanity lights, dual exhaust out the back, rear seat center fold down arm rest, wheel well liners and the biggy................. 4auto.
My 2019 ram has intelligent access and a panel that lifts up in the middle console storage to keep your things from sliding to the front, which I clearly saw in that bighorn
try this I saw autovolg use it.. did my reviews works but ford says i wipes alot of the warrenty www.autostopeliminator.com/store/p1/ford-f150-ae000.html
Great review, even though you were slightly biased towards the Ford being a Ford associate you did a great job. Edmond's pick in this class of trucks is the Ram, Chevy second and Ford third. That being said, all three have their Pros and cons and the difference between the three is minimal at best. All three are a great option and ultimately it ends up being a consumers opinion on which one of the three is right for them. I just purchased a Ram 2019 last night from the dealership which had great Labor Day incentives which tipped the scale in the Ram category. I have owned Chevy, Chrysler Jeeps, and Fords so I believe all of them have their pluses and minus... Again, great job on the comparison of the two trucks!
I sell Ram and I appreciate your video ......You did a nice job of showing the differences. Each has their merits to be sure and both are far better than a Chev.
I agree COMPLETELY!
@motownautospa yeah but he was talking about what makes sense. If you have push button start have the keyless entry, like Ford
If you look at the numbers here: www.fordf150blog.com/2019-f-150-3-5-ecoboost-vs-6-2-silverado-vs-5-7-hemi/
You'd think it'd be Ford > Chevy > Ram
But at the end of the day I'd buy the Ford or the Ram before I'd get the Chevy.
Both better than a Chevy??? Why? I’m new to trucks.
Falken Wildpeak tires are fantastic!
I've had 2 sets of Goodyear Wranglers.
They were garbage.
I'm done.
Kyle Bybee exactly id rather have falkens then the Goodyear’s.
Thank goodness someone with some sense
I was thinking the same thing... goodyear use to be a good tire... now you can buy wranglers at walmart on the cheap rack
Kyle Bybee 100% agree the wranglers are terrible sad that I had to pay extra for them on the FX4 package just for them to get trashed lol
Same I have a 2015 ram 1500 Laramie and when I bought it the Goodyear wranglers or so bad I could break them loose by slowly accelerating out of a corner
Regarding the shifter knob I have a 2019 Ram Limited and I've forgotten to put it in Park and left it in Drive the truck notices that and Does shift it to park for you.
yup
My 2016 does the same.
Same, it scared me the first time but i love the knob shifter now it’s just so fluent and smooth
Nice mine doesn’t shift for you but won’t shut off until you go to park.
This guy should be a politician. Lol. For the ram He does a great job of making good things sound like shortcomings and vise versa
I’d like to see a comparison between the Lariat and the Laramie.
czcams.com/video/zPGOktsyIDg/video.html
I have a 2019 ram. If you open the door it automatically puts its self in park and sets the parking brake.
The old ones do as well now. It was done via an update at the dealer.
And it runs you over if you get in the way...lmao
He accidentally leaves that out. Ram has the safety feature, he was just not schooled on it, or didn't want to bring it up.
Found that out while driving a rental. Was trying to back in a tight spot head, opened door and popped heat out and damn near fell out of the truck. That’s not something I would want lol
Drove my friends Ram and that pissed me off so bad! Lol
You asked for our thoughts, well here is mine:
I’ve had the chance to take both trucks home for several days.
Michael Godsey
Haha yea the Chevy was a let down. It was a close call between the two. Can’t go wrong either way. They are both that good.
They still do that! I had a 89 crown vic that would do that lol. Also my inlaws have a Taurus that does that.
MY DOORS NEVER FROZE. DONT GET CAUGHT UP IN THE HYPE
My 88 Ranger did that!
@@eugenepiurkowski6026 I live in Canada and have never had that happen with any of the 7 Fords I've owned 🤷♂️
You are wrong about the dial shifter in the ram they’re are videos out showing it shifting itself in park when you get out
Yes some guys are confused easily
The recall that was performed is what enabled it,I hate it.
He is wrong. I can’t move my ram with the door open
@@chrisfalzone5523 I can't either full of lies that dude.
Both are nice trucks...I'll will and did take the Ram!
They are. Its just that the RAM is more 21st Century.
pickup my new ram wednesday ,my first dodge vehicle
Garth Alexander don’t worry it’ll be you’re last 😂
Josef Griveas is that cause it will last so long or because he will be disappointed? Not throwing shade seriously asking.
(Also I still plan on buying a 2019 denali over both the f150 limited or ram limited/longhorn (only difference between the two trims is appearance), but it still annoys me when dealer based youtube channels try and sell a vehicle over their competition with a "fair comparison" which is why i'm making this list)
-ram has been seperate from dodge for years now, js
-The coils do not have any impact on towing, as the ram 2500, which uses coils, has 200lbs more tow capacity than the f250. The towing difference is down to the aluminum body's weight reduction, which ford throws into payload/tow capacity. (also f150 drivers have noted that it is very stressful towing near capacity as the trailer blows the lighter truck around easier than any other half ton, but I have no personal experience towing 13,000 in any vehicle so hence the parenthesis)
-that ram is poorly speced with having a sport apperance package over no running boards, anyone who needs them or is a considerate person to their passengers would have them on the truck anyways, even if it was part of the negotiations at the dealer lot for the dealer to put some on.
-That bedliner must have been added at the dealer, as the sticker does not have the 595 dollar bedliner option on it. also its about 40 dollars cheaper to get spray in bedliner from the factory on a ram, but thats just nitpicking
-The price difference between the two hemi's is because of the e-torque mild hybrid system. The tow rating comes from the second one because of the electronic assist motor, not from any higher output from the hemi. You claim the price increase from standard hemi to etorque hemi is insane, but the price from the 2.7 ecoboost to the 5.0 coyote is actually more and the 2.7 and the towing difference between the two options is functionally identical to the difference in the hemis
-Fuel economy when using the ecoboost when towing large loads will be lower than competitors due to the nature of turbochargers.
-you can put file folders in the console, just not as many as the f-150, just wanted to point that out even though the f150 has the superior file management system
-In most reviews from independent reviewers I have seen, they would take the Uconnect over sync 3 every time. Maybe all the reviewers are "more technologically advanced" but its still an observation worth noting.
-You completely wiffed on the 12v plug on top of the dash for dash cams, it is the only vehicle I know of (at all) that has a dedicated dash cam plug, anything else either runs down your dashboard to your console or you have to modify the vehicle and hardwire it into the 12v line of the mirror
-The ram's center console is much more phone/tablet friendly. It is easier to place up to two phones on chargers in the ram and the smaller top compartment in the console is specifically designed to house an 11 inch tablet on a charger without issue.
-with physical buttons in the ram, you can turn off parking sensors independently of each other. This is great for not only backing up your truck to a trailer, but also when on any non paved surface so the truck doesn't stop for every rock higher than 2 inches
And things you didn't even give the f-150 credit for are things like the larger fuel tank options (36 vs 33 gal), the 10 speed auto transmission over the 8 speed in the ram, the much wider range of rear axles available to the f150 (the hemi only gets two options) you are the pinnacle of salesmen. Please for the sake of buyers, stop making comparative videos
You should review trucks!
@@caseypickett6776 I would if I had the time or the capital, but I have neither.
Also he forgot to mention that the ram does have the same fx4 but it is called 4x4 package that have locking rear axle and skid plates and a/t tires falken wild peak (better than goodyear wrangler kevlar in offroad )
Damnnnnnn. I'm floored by your knowledge. Btw what make you go for gm over the others. Cheers. Mad respect to you.

Agree! This whole "my truck brand is better than yours" is so childish and stupid frankly. GM, Ford, and Ram all offer some beautiful trucks. Honestly, any 1/2 ton truck right now is a very well built machine, which with regular maintenance will get you many years and miles of enjoyment.

And the two different glove compartments and one of them locks
I love my 2019 ram big horn crew cab .
Me too!
Love mine
Always like your videos but sorry this is coming from a F150 owner and the new Ram looks feels much nicer than the ford .
Ram interior over ford
Ricky Rodriguez lmao your probably not tho... idk tho
Jchintn meaning if I have a F150?
I agree ford needs to step up their game in the interior for the f150. they've fallen behind both the silverado and ram in that area in recent years.
SteelCity1981 there’s no way they’ve fallen behind chevy. Have you bumped your head? I own a ram and I’m completely unbiased. But the chevys interior is absolutely hideous. The seats are horrible. But to each their own !
550 dollars of said equipment can be found in 130 dollar cell phone.
Who doesn’t put the parking brake on or shift into park when leaving their vehicle?? Nit picking.. Ram has many features you didn’t touch on.
Maybe Ford drivers, lol
Exactly...
My 2018 ram with the dial shift auto switches to park so im slightly confused
I instantly think about Anton Yelchins Jeep that killed him for that very reason, and the countless other accidents. It's a newer feature, over the last few years, but a great safety feature if you ask anyone affected by it.
@@shadyassassin0856 fax I have one too so I was looking for someone to say it
Great video.
The truck does go in park when you open the door.
Pretty sure they fixed that as well but it's like saying there needs to be a safety so you don't hit your thumb with a hammer. Duh. Don't get out of a vehicle without putting it in park. We need smarter people not more safety nannies.
Bleedblackandgold51 I thought so
Both my 2017 and 2019 do. I think there information out of date
I'm surprised this video is still available to see. This guy just sold more Ram trucks than anyone on a Chrysler/Dodge/Ram dealership. LOL.

ya there in the parking lot..
You lost me at the emergency braking feature. I don't want that crap on my vehicle. There are times when a swerve will avoid an accident that breaking would cause you to get rear ended.
You can disable on the RAM and im sure on the Ford as well.
You can definitely open the Ram door with key in your pocket - read the manual.
You convinced me to by the Ram - thanks!
After watching this I would still get the Ram

Okay, lost my attention when he said you had to unlock door with key fob. Also for the same price he is comparing, you can get a nice Laramie with all the features he said Ram does not have. My Sport Laramie pretty decked with $55,513 sticker and out the door price of $43,000. Both are nice trucks and it looks like Ford is getting a little nervous.
Rear coils on the Ram ride GREAT compared to leafs, and tows great too.
I agree coil springs ride better but they do not tow better or haul payload better.

So I could have prevented it by replacing the seal first. My interior is still in great shape, no cracks in the dash, and zero rust on the body living in Colorado. He’s just stating that you would have to step up to the lariat where the ram you don’t
I noticed the same thing. Good observation buddy
This video is full of so many lies and falsehoods it's painful to watch
The Ram was a lot better than i expected. For the first time, the F-150 has a true competitor.
@@TCcustoms_ Ram is crap! You get a base model Ford with a 5.0 or twin turbo V6 , you automatically get a 10-speed. Besides, Ram still has MDS
Definitely biased and incorrect on several comparisons. Both are solid truck though.

RAM. Just picked up mine last week.
Ill make this simple. If you buy a F150 get the 5.0 the Ram get the 5.7 hemi. Trucks suck on fuel deal with it or move on.

3.5 Ecoboost gets 22mpg with more hp than v8...
The 3.5 ecoboost is the most tuneable and most torquey engine in these trucks
People saying the 3.5 is the torquey engine😂 if I twin turbocharged either v8 it would squash any truck on the market.
Noah Sutton I love a v8 but for every day driving I went with the EcoBoost for mpg, I will tell you if you drive an EcoBoost more aggressive or tow then hands down v8 way to go
I love that center console in the 150, it looks like it will fit a halfrack.
I hope its water proof
Much better off road package than FX.
therealTFL yes the FX4 package is a waste
The ford has everything that it has except the skid plates. And if you want an off road oriented truck like the ram that isn’t a ram. Don’t get a work oriented truck. Get a raptor or something that comes with everything you mention plus some.
He’s talking about the tired and said the rams tires sound “cheap” he didn’t even look at the prices lol. Thanks or helping me make the easiest decision of my life! I’m getting the RAM!
Hey did you get the RAM?
Im a Ford guy but my good friend is a Ram guy and has had no issues with his Ram. Both great trucks. But I personally prefer the F150 IMO.

Ford has dominated that market followed by the GM twins
The 1500 is competing with the market leader 150 who didn't have a diesel option until recently.
The Ram will shift into park if you get out while it is in Drive. My 2017 Ram does that I found out when I didn't close the door all the way.

The Falken Wildpeak tires are EXCELLENT!

He got the closest match in price. You start adding other features, the price goes up.

Here come the Falken fan boys. They already got me on my tire review videos.

You're right, it certainly was biased.
I don’t try to hide it. That’s why I tried to put as many stats as I could.

Ford is 176" WB, 266.6" overall
Ram is 169" WB, 259" overall

There is 9" missing in WB and 8.6" missing overall with GM vs Ford. I wonder where that space is lost considering they all have 98" beds?? Asked him about payload yesterday, and he said it was good. Thanks for this, and confirming what I thought, Ford edges this out. Excited for the 2020 redo. Ford is on a roll!
Why would you get out of a vehicle with it in drive? So much misinformation about the RAM... The Uconnect is such a better system (more responsive) and a much better quality screen.
F150 no doubt, I have owned 5 so far, none disappointed.
Just bought a 18 F-150 sport supercrew cab with the 3.5. I get it tomorrow and I can’t wait
Then you should get a ram, and you won’t touch an f150 ever again
@Kevin Pilling , do you work for ram?
Tsai Ing-Wen is piece of old asshole no lol, but my weld truck is a Ford F-350 and I own a 2019 ram 1500, and I dont know man there is just something about ram that made me fall in love with it.
I was always all about Ford. I just bought my 1st Dodge Ram 2019. I do not like the flimsy fenders, but I am sure they going no place.
He can say all he wants but there is no replacement for displacement. The hemi is a very strong engine, very fast. It grips you into the seat if you mash that pedal.
Originally I wanted a bench like my previous F150
But this Ram console is awesome.
Ram all the way. I want the hydro blue sport myself. Ford and Chevy are good too, as long as you don't drive a ridgeline I think you're ok.
Haha! Agreed.
(But I'll still take the Ram.)
The Ram’s running boards go all the way to the bed. Ford doesn’t.
I wish I had the full length boards. My truck came with the spring-open steps underneath, but Michigan weather has them opening poorly at 38k miles. I'd take the full length boards any day.
DAM8658 ford has the option or a bed step which is way nicer that having a stupid long running board
Running boards just ruin the look of any truck or suv
So.....according to this video in order to get all the features on the dodge, you have to "step up" to the Lariat edition in the Ford. So what you are saying is the Dodge has more features for a cheaper price. Got it.
Some of the features he forgot to mention Ram has that the ford didn't. Garage door opener, sun visor vanity lights, dual exhaust out the back, rear seat center fold down arm rest, wheel well liners and the biggy................. 4auto.
If you buy a Ram you're going to need to know where that hood latch is at. ;)
Bahaha!!!! 🤣
The one thing I don't like about the RAM hood latch is tells the crooks exactly where it is.
Ford hoods are open more then rams
“Law abiding citizen with your pistol in the center console” - only in God-fearing crazy America will you hear that.
Thank god for that
My 2019 ram has intelligent access and a panel that lifts up in the middle console storage to keep your things from sliding to the front, which I clearly saw in that bighorn
There’s an option in the settings for the ram that if u stop and get out while it’s in drive, it will automatically put the parking brake on
I hate the auto stop start in my 2017 F-150
Glad I have a 2016 XLT. Not a fan either. Sister has a 2017 Ecoboost with the feature :(
you can get rid of it for free.
@milchuck yup
My 2017 f150 does not have start stop so glad it doesn’t.
try this I saw autovolg use it.. did my reviews works but ford says i wipes alot of the warrenty www.autostopeliminator.com/store/p1/ford-f150-ae000.html
Nothing wrong with Falcon Wild Peaks, I'd take them over the ones on the Ford.
Agreed
A Ford Falcon?
Falcon's are also used on the Gladiator, so they make good tires for sure.
