They are filming in a restaurant!
When Ryno was talking about strawberry foam I had a flashback to elementary school. There was a dessert they would give us that was delicious that we called pink goo. It was probably some kind of strawberry mousse.
"Vegan Field Roast Hot Dog" is, perhaps, the most unappetizing description I've ever heard.
As a McDonald's employee for nearly 30 years, it's not that hard to fry a basket of fries and season them with the appropriate amount of salt
Can you teach every McDonald's employee I have come across in the last 5-10 years?
I can't imagine dining at a place called Mel's without telling someone to Kiss My Grits. Which, I understand, is not encouraged, socially.
The "I'm no expert at this" sounds like it could be a song:

Looks like a fun place with a variety of food. The inside reminds me of a Johnny Rockets. I enjoyed watching this

Yes! We called it Strawberry Scooter Crunch also in NY. We used to get them for school lunch all the time in the 80's.

This restaurant was the first meal of my trip two weeks ago. We did a split stay starting with Universals. We had just check in to our resort, park was about two close and we were hungry. We thought to grab something quick before the Mardi Gras parade started and I was impressed on how clean and shiny it was. I didn’t know it was closed for refurbishment until this video.
We had the hot dog it was decent and I was glad I got the onion rings instead of the fried because they were good.
I ended up getting an apple pie, which I was scared because i thought it was going to be something from like a store bought, but to my surprise it tasted homemade. The crust was tasty I could taste the butter not like store bought pies that taste like meh. This was a good pie. It was kind of stale but since it was almost the end of the day I didn’t expect something like just coming out the oven.
I guess I gotta go try that hot dog!

Bitter taste is usually from improperly cleaned lettuce. Or some variety of 'bitter green' style organic lettuce.
Had a Wimpy burger last summer and it was one of the best burgers I have had. I would rat it again.
I didn't know what a milkshake was until I moved to Ohio and learned a frappe was a cruel hoax.
Why do they serve the burgers and chicken sandwiches on their side? That bun was just slowly sliding away as you spoke ;)

That's not a real Mel's... a sanitized version and so strange to me! Definitely the screen version. I always go to Mel's near Moscone Center in San Francisco for the real deal :)
Milkshakes are just ice cream and milk. Not that complicated
Mel's Drive-In is Alive and Well in Hollywood and the one in Orlando is nothing like the original mels
Vegan cheese melts great but you have to help it melt by heating it in a pan or on flat top you can't rely on it to melt from the heat of what's around it. I encourage anyone reading this to give it a try. Cold vegan cheese- not so great. So the problem is the preparation. I look forward to the day when theme parks get this and know how to prepare vegan food properly.
