Ko Mak and Ko Kood are both nice as well. And there's the other Ko Chang over on the other side of Thailand that I've wanted to visit. No roads so you have to walk everywhere on the island. Thailand is definitely looking tempting now that things are getting more relaxed around the world.

The bridge is built on two purposes, 1st = to show the name of the village and welcome banner. 2nd = like crossing street skywalk in Bangkok, but this one is crossing river skywalk. So, it is strong enough to walk across, even its handheld is shaken. But the local villagers are get used to and no need even to hold their hands on it while crossing anyway.
Smooth editing and presentation as always. Love your videos.

Koh Chang: My favorite place on the planet! You should visit Lonely Beach for the nightlife. But don’t stay overnight too close, cos it gets VERY loud at night. Then you should visit the Pier closeby. Also Long Beach on the other side of the island is also a very peaceful place to visit for a day. Also try and squeeze in the waterfall (there are a few), but the one you pay to visit (nature reserve) is well worth it, if only for the pretty views and wonderful swim.
This takes me back and is such a beautiful reminder. Thanks Paddy!!cant wait to go back. It’s been waaayyy too long. Keep up the great work. I love you videos!!!

Hey Paddy all of the islands around Koh Chang are gorgeous and all very different. Head off from Bang Bap to Koh Wai where there are loads of Persian and rag doll cats!. Koh Mak and Koh Kham are beautiful!
Not forgetting Koh Chang itself, we’ve been going there for years, it’s a beautiful island. If you need any recommendations give me a shout! Of all of them though, Koh Kut has to be the probably the best Thai island, if you haven’t been you ‘must’ go. It all starts with the approach on the ferry…..You don’t need to worry about the confused songthaew system from the pier to accommodation as you will just whizz past on dreamy!

Koh Chang. Lonely Beach. Maybe have lunch at Little Eden and stay in a jungle bungalow up the hill from the Beach. If you do, please say hi to the guitar playing part owner, a Brit, named David Newman. He's in Trat until Monday. However, his friends might be around to take you on a hike up the mountainside through the jungle to some very nice spots. It's a very "cool" spot to kick back, chat and get to know the area a little more. I've "sat-in" with the local musicians around Lonely Beach. Great fun. dcb

Our favourite vacation island so far, hope you try koh Kut, Kai Bai beach side is the sandy side while to the east is more pebbles yet much nicer and cheaper accommodation. Just north of you is the is the Klong Phlu waterfall it is the nicest and has a few levels if the guard does not stop you climbing up. And this time of year it will be switched “on” while others may be dry, but honestly you have seen much better. following the river down there are some beautiful resorts on the beach and lagoon, following the road to Kai Bai a bicycle and book hire store on the left, now if you look right a board walk takes you thru palm trees over the small river as it goes to the sea, the beach to the left there is pristine and remote, watch out for sand flies on remote beaches tho I believe most beaches are remote just now. If you follow the horse shoe shape coast road south into the hills the Rasta bar is a nice break and view, always see the black and white sea eagles fishing in the bay and around the piers there. Also some nice resorts. Continue a little farther the road narrows and you come to the Grand Lagoon once a vacation and social gathering spot for Taxin Sinawatra, you know that Thai Guy who owned Liverpool F.C. He trenched out the beach there and sailed his cruise ship aground “a casino” with nearby helipad ,tho hasn’t been back for years. There are a lot of house boats for rent and you pay 40 baht entrance and can use the swimming pool on one of the boats. BUT THE BEACH IS TO DIE FOR never seen more than 6 people on it , a waterfall tips into the lagoon and pools of water lilies just minutes from the sea, and possibly the biggest elephants you will see.
Its a great run for dreamy, on the other end of the loop East is the mangrove swamp with concrete boardwalk, already mentioned in the comments the wat Salak Petch that is there is a new build stunning at a cost of £20,000.Take a few days to explore again resorts down by the bays edge on this east side are very nice most are on the water. White Sands (west and close to the ferry) is usually busy-pre-covid and has more to offer for night life if you are on foot. Enjoy I will be there for xmas.

Good stuff! I'visited both the mexican restaurant and the hotel when i came to Ko Chang about 4 years ago. I wasn't particularly impressed with the island but we had a great time because of the female company. It's brought back a few memories.

Top vlog once again, Paddy! This made me crave fish tacos!! And that resort would not have been an option on a Budgeteers episode. LOL! Wait..unless you create a vlog that features the resort and they let you stay for free! Just like in Budgeteers Season 1 when you recovered from possible heat stroke!

In Koh Chang, I recommend a resort called 'Elephant & Castle' - the owner is a nice English chap, and he rustled-up an epic belly-busting full English breakfast. I assume you are heading for Koh Kood soon, so I am digging into my photo archive to find the restaurant serving THE BEST Pad Thai and Masaman I ever had...

..ok, I found it. It's a cafe called 'Cheewa COFFEE and CAKE'. Google says 'temporarily closed'. I hope this is not the case when you arrive because the coffee, milk tea and seemingly everything they made was "next level"

Then after you’ve got Koh Kood and Koh Mak nearby! 🏝. The best cool place I found to stay awhile was as far as you can go on the road to the south of the island Bang Bao, certainly visit the pier and the beach is glorious! I loved Nature Beach Resort too by Lonely Beach! Try the CoCo restaurant very friendly people and fantastic view and food 🍱

Yup that beach at the far end, past Bang Bao pier, is something special. Perfect tropical beach environment...from the sand to the trees.

El Barrio is excellent. Next time try staying at Bangbao Beach resort, nice air conditioned wooden bungalows on the sand, absolute beach front. Tell Jebbie, Pat and Keith sent you and you’ll get a discount.

Koh Chang is my second home, (hopefully my first in the not to distant future). If you're still around Kai Bae check out the Mount coffee shop, best views for miles. Try Oodies in white sand beach for a decent bar with music, and say hello to the old git from me :)

Hi Paddy, try White Sand Beach. There is a lot of great places to stay. I can recommend Bang Bao Beach where you will have the feeling of being on the tropical beach. There are a lot of funny-looking houses boasts there and very quiet and peaceful. The roads are like the rollercoaster style and very scenic. Another day you can go to the other side of Koh Chang. Back to the ferry place and keep driving until you can't get any further. There is a viewpoint and a small town with fishing boats and some restaurants at the viewpoint. Koh Chang is my favorite island in Thailand for sure ;-).
Enjoy Koh Chang, Paddy. It is a great island. I am coming to Thailand myself in April and stay for 2 months. Maybe I will see you there. Take care ;-).

Hi dear. Paddy. There r many few beaches in Koh Chang. There is rush & busy White Sand beach with bigger market etc. But I think The Lonely beach is quite relaxed one & cheap too. Phuket ,Krabi area is more expensive but Koh Chang is quite cheap.. besides I say the whole of Thailand is very good ,over all. Good luck.

I went there before , It was ok , didn’t like it much but they said if you takes a left instead of the right when you get there , it is more peaceful . Koh Mak, Koh Kood and Kho Wai are peaceful as well . Kho Wai , there is no electricity but the generator will comes on at night . Dreamy still alive , I am surprised , with only 50 cc, she went there and back again. I learned something new , I didn’t know how the Mexican comes to Kho Chang and why they like get there ?😀😀

if you're staying longer in Koh chang you have to go to "PIZZERIA SPAGHETTERIA TOSCANA" best and very cheap Italian food!
