The boar was undoubtedly the hardest thing I fought in this game, the Minotaur was a spec compared to that beast

For anyone struggling with this or any legendary animal quests, I highly recommend taming an alpha animal (the bear and lion work well, you can travel around to find one as they regenerate) AND engraving the +50% damage and +100% health for tamed beasts. Because the arena is open you can take them in with you and the engraving means they are very unlikely to die during the battle. I did this method with both the boar and hyena (wish I had figured it out before for the others) each one lasted only a minute and defeated them first try. There's also the added bonus that they can't call for reinforcement as they don't have the time to do so being too occupied with your tamed animal. It's fool proof and works like a charm. Try it! Makes it supeeer easy

That's a great strategy for those struggling. But also, only face legendary animals at recommended level or higher.

Depending on your tame level (upgrade) you do so by pressing down and up on the right analog stick. (On console.)
This game and Witcher 3 make me hate boars.

I hate more the damn snakes and from the Witcher 3 the damn spiders, not the weird arachnas but the black ones from "Hearts of stone" and in Toussaint.

Indeed in Blood and Wine, north of the map near the village where the wedding took place. Part of the wedding quest is fighting a boar bare handed and with witcher's signs.

I love how there is Lions in this game...they dissapear from Greece around the 15 B.C. Those lands where Very weird until the 7500 B.C : Dwarf Elephants, Hippos, Leopards, Giant Swans, Cheetah...

*FOR ANYBODY STRUGGLING:* If you want to defeat all of the legendary animals, this set-up works very well!
First, there are a few abilities that will make this easier. Definitely get either the flame or poison weapon ability. This costs no adrenaline on use and causes more damage.
A few other abilities that will help is definitely the healing ability, the overpower attack ability (RB + RT), and the ability that gives you more adrenaline segments after using on an enemy. This set-up will help you a lot.
After you are set and well-equipped, keep hitting and dodging. RT, then X combo will help a lot.
For the lion, you can use a bow and arrow to shoot the regular lions. For the boars and wolf, attack the regular boars for some good adrenaline segments, especially for healing. All the others should be easy.
Sadly, Legendary animals aren't recruitable. Don't bother trying.

Did these quest at lvl.50 and I one shotted them with overpower ability when they were around 60% it was insane.

As great as these legendary beasts were to battle in AC Odyssey, how come players couldnât battle the Lernaean Hydra? I mean, most of the legendary beasts encountered in the game were based on the mythical creatures fought by Heracles during his âTwelve Laborâ quests. The Lerneaen Hydra should have been included as well, as it could have been one of the toughest (if not the toughest) legendary beasts fought by skilled/devoted players.
There were many ledgendary beasts of Greek myth, but as for mythic creatures there were actually very few, the difference between the 2 is the beasts have real world counterparts lions bears boars ect but the mythic creatures are all entirely fantasy, if this wasn't an assassins creed game Im sure they would have had many more of the great mythic creatures but trying to fit in even the minotaur and medusa into the AC universe must have been quite difficult

Great video! For the Nemean Lion, I used the paralyzing arrows for the other smaller lions first then fought it. Made it much easier

its in the abilities
The special arrows unlock in stages, as you acquire and upgrade the Arrow Master ability. The first level will unlock paralyzing arrows, the second will add in fire and poison arrows, and the third and final will give you explosive arrows. Each level requires an ability point, but the second and third levels are gated by your character level.
now the last arrow u have to kill at least 2 of the legendary animals. next time don't call ppl a liar, when u could have taken 2 secs to GOOGLE it

You have to kill all legendary animals. That's how it worked for me but the other guy said kill atleast 2 but who knows.
When I fought the legendary boar, it just so happens that I have a bounty and a mercenary is closing in on me while fighting the boar. What happened is both of them fought each other instead while I watch and wait until both of them are low in health then I killed each of them using an arrow haha!
Had the same weapon for the first one but damn you used three bounty hunters like that, impressive. I just died few times before figuring out I needed to be one level higher with a better weapon which I got that legendary spear. The first boar was the hardest so far since I had no idea what to expect cause the first time I would get it to half health several times then it would regenerate it while spamming the miniature boars which I thought would eventually end but they never did. So I won by ignoring the mini boars and used the spear some with a lot of head shots using the mini boars to slow time from dodging a lot. The rest that I have done have been easier so far with having more skills and better equipment being the main reason I am guessing plus I am higher level usually.

I had the lion glitch into the canyon wall then after a bit of thinking the game put him back on top outside of his arena. Climb up and spartan kick him down, he dies from fall damage. Thanks Ubi

I only had trouble with the boar fights, the second one in particular. Ended up taming an Alpha bear to distract the farting boar while I kept peppering it with fire arrows from my Hades bow.

This is a pain in the ass this quest. I have 3 left... almost there lol. That deer and lion was god awful. Barely get any chance to attack before they lunge đ
Being a few levels higher may be your best bet as well.
If you find yourself struggling to defeat the deer and lion, just try attacking their side. And also both have stronger weak points animation, for the deer look for it to burrow it's antlers to the mud and then assault it with your best damage ability since the beast will be stock for a few seconds and for the lion, the best time to attack is when he roar.. Just stay away and shoot arrow, aim for the head and make it quick cause it will rush towards you after it roars.. and also when it pounds towards you and didn't catch you, you have a split second enough for you to launch your overpower abilities.

As much as I loved battling those legendary beasts (especially the Nemean Lion), there was one thing I didn't understand: How does the Hind of Keryneia have antlers? Was it actually a stag and none of the ancient Greek folk ever realized it because of its legendary status? o.O

Actually wanted to kill the wolf 1v1 without gear or anything on, just my fists, but the bugger kept summoning wolves by the packs once it fell below 50% HP and it's not a 1v1 legendary duel if it's a 13v1. So, I got back in my 100% crit chance, all legendary build and whipped him proper. -_-

Wish I had thought of the bounty hunter trick on the Ermanthyan boar, the poison made killing it even more difficult.

There are Legendary Animal fights in FC Primal too, but here in Odyssey it's just a lot harder because these guys actually dodge and a lot of minions are there fighting you. Their attacks aren't blockable and you have to make sure to dodge properly.

Kalydonian Boar on Nightmare is in the top 3 hardest boss fights I've ever endured, including the Souls series.
I fought it like 40 nightmare kinda easy but souls games elden ring morgot or Melania takes 6 hours man

Just a suggestion. You should kill her (Daphny i guess) and lead the Daughters of Artemis. For the Atlantis Arc, You'll need a key that these people are safeguarding. That would make it easier then.

There's a easy way you can kill that boar. So what you need to do is get inside that cave and their you'll find a small ledge climb on it and boom kill him with ease. Now it might take a few tries to climb onto the ledge but you will eventually
