    Coming from a hifi studio, sony mic gives you much better audio, espescially at lower frequencies. Sound of rode is so thin comparing to Sony, sony has full of low band frequencies, amazing.

    Can you do EQ and a compressor with the Sony mic?

    Thanks for this video, Paul! Just wondering how you go about your EQ for the DJI mic. Thanks for your time!

      @PaulFeinberg  Před rokem +1

      I used a multi-Band EQ. I move the middle range EQ’s up really high to find the bad sounding frequencies and then I adjust them down. Crank up the lows a little and then slightly bump the mid highs and slightly lower the really high highs. (Sorry I forget which bands I adjust off the top of my head). Then I add a compressor and a limiter

    Hi Paul, thanks a lot for this video. I'm considering getting the B1M and will use it while traveling. The shock mount is the only thing holding me back. Are the sounds at 10:00 wind noise or handling noise?

    • @PaulFeinberg
      @PaulFeinberg  Před rokem +2

      This mic really blocks the wind very well so my guess is handling noise. I had to listen to it and it is worse than I remember it. Typically I might hear it every once and a while but that clips seems more than normal.

      @@Anseyana honestly that is where I was. The Rode sounds better, no worry about noise at all. But the convenience, auto gain mode, and no cables or battery is what drew me to the hype! I have personally enjoyed it so far.

      @PaulFeinberg  Před rokem +1

      @@Anseyana I found out that is not handling noise. That was wind. It doesn't block the wind very well.

      It does…..I still use the Sony mic on the go for the convenience, no cables, and auto mode. However the NTG videomic and NTG5 sound better. Thanks for watching!

    The Sony looks amazing, but what if you want to use it wirelessly, or extend it out in a studio environment, is there any solution to that? - or is it just on camera and the limitations that come with that? -- btw the VideoMicro II sounds MUCH better than the original, almost like the NTG, worth testing!

    • @PaulFeinberg
      @PaulFeinberg  Před rokem +1

      Unfortunately no the ECM has to be on the camera. I believe the Rode mics are more versatile in that regard. So I always have one of those and then my sony mic for on the go filming or when I am sitting in front of the camera. The Videomicro II I just heard from filming with @kylewattstv you should check out his channel for audio comparisons of that (Best Microphone for ZV-E1). It does sound close, but I like the sound of the Go II better and of course NTG videomic the best. However, for the price micro and go II can't be beat.

      @@PaulFeinberg Will check out that video thank you. I have the Go II and the Micro II and honestly I struggle to hear much difference between them, I couldn't say I prefer 1 over the other with my voice. The USB-C is very convenient on the Go II though.

    • @PaulFeinberg
      @PaulFeinberg  Před rokem

      @@DigiDriftZone True there is only a slight difference. The extra money is worth the USB-C port on the mic, but doesn't come with the wind muff like the micro so there is that. Awesome ya check it out!

      @@PaulFeinberg I got the Micro 2 after I got the Go 2 - I agree but the portability of the Micro is the selling point, they improved it vs Gen 1 by making the shock mount very compact, it's much more pocketable :)
