Another gorgeous page! Although I love that Concord and 9th alpha stamp set, I want to say something about handwriting that I learned years ago when I used to scrapbook. Someone once told me that our handwriting is so special to those who love us, they don’t care that it isn’t “perfect” and at the time I felt the same way you do, I hated my handwriting and was like “yeah, yeah” now that I have lost both my parents I treasure anything I have in their handwriting. It is so special to me and I don’t care how “pretty” it is, it is a part of them. For instance, my Mom wrote in script and very small, while my Dad (who had attended Catholic school as a boy) had very flowery and neat script that is much bigger. In any case, just seeing their handwriting on a letter or a recipe or anything brings back so many precious memories. I share this because especially today with all the electronics we use, we barely write to each other at all, and this is even more precious than ever. So consider letting go of the need to love your handwriting because one day your daughter will have those beautiful art journals, and not only will she have your fabulous artwork, but she could have your very own writing as well. Just a thought, not meant as a criticism at all, everyone has to do what they feel comfortable with in their own journals of course. Thanks for “listening”to my ramble. 😘😂

What do you see as a finished page before you begin? What is your procedure for choosing particular background techniques? How do you choose your color schemes? How do you decide what quote to use? How do you decide on your stamps or artwork? Do you sketch out a little design, or is it all in your imagination? I'm sure that you do this process automatically and since it is second nature to you, you don't even think of explaining it, but it would be most helpful to the rest of us journal-makers if we had this info. Thank you for all you do!
