You need to do more videos with the “smaller” contractors like this. It’s more relatable than the giant companies. And showcases what you can do if you want to be in the biz but not work for one of those giant companies.

Working for a smaller company compared to working in a mine ,is there's more opportunities to do many different things. Let's say you like running a excavator...you can knock down trees , buildings, clear land ,lift structures like culvert boxes or beams for the steel workers... to digging retention ponds or ditches, the list is endless.

You get a chance to do everything, with not nearly as much support. But if you want to learn how to be really good, and a step above.. that is a great start if you can get in with a good group that cares about doing things better.@@Pea-bj2qv

Years ago I welded Left and right seats to the fenders of my little 2600 ford so two of my kids could learn and share the experience with their dad, and yes they had to wear their seatbelts. Later they loved riding in the combine except the littlest one who fell asleep within minutes every time. Can you imagine how many people would pay serious cash money to drive a dozer just one time, even pay to just ride shotgun?

I worked for a company and took my ex girlfriends kids with me to the job on a Saturday when no one was working. I let the 10 year old drive a 750 JD .I told him ... when I say stop you step on this peddle. On one job my father came to visit and I took him to where I was working and let him run a track hoe and loader. The best career was construction and running heavy equipment.

Thank you for letting Mr. WATT 😊 come and play and learn the fuel and lube system 😊 the old ( Betty) is my favorite
    1978 same year as my Dynahoe-190 😊
Mr. WATT learned the dump for bucket control I see. With the backwards lever control system CAT put on 977s. That front Loaders from that series are the best looking, but times changed and thay moved engines to the rear. Lets DIG is so outstanding to let Mr. WATT come and see and operate in his job development site. 😊😊😊 This is so fantastic about U-Tube that two great videos series can get together and actually show video of each other on job sites. For everyone saying Mr.WATT should do more with smaller contractors. Great idea but remember you and me can NOT go to some of these large Mines and hige projects that Mr.WATT has filmed at let alone film there. So the none contractor people watching video on Mr.WATTs channel will only get to see those big projects from Mr.WATTs filming them.

International used to have the greatest Lock up system in the 1970s. I ran a 125 track loader. It first had a steel locking cover for battery disconnect. So you had a lock outside.😊 Then you had a lock on the battery switch inside the box 😊 then in the cab ( no windows just ROPs you had this thick steel half moon shaped cover over dash ( no key start) just a RED start button and gauges 😊 you had a lock on outside of this sliding plate 😊 they were the only piece of heavy equipment on that big sewer job that had that 3 lock up system. All fill points for lube and Diesel had these neat caps that had padlock hooks that were pretty hard to get through to turn caps. 😊 The side plates on engine service access covers had a padlock point outside the covers. The CASE machines did not have this many
The Dynahoe-190 ( my side sewer stubs digger only had one steel plate over dash
All the big excavators we had on the job, had steel plates over all cab windows. Once in the cab there was no cover over the dash, (key insert) we were digging in a wood right of way easement for the sewer ditch. So remote location. There were some new homes being built though. The one thing we did have for security is the 350 Bucyrus Erie excavator operator lived in his trailer with his wife at the job site. The fuel up guy hated that I locked up my Dynahoe. He told me to leave the fuel tank to fill unlocked. He did not have keys to all the different machines. I never remember problems with vandalism though.

Customs to observe: Aaron Witt, when in the presence of a legend humble yourself. Unspoken words when in the presence of a legend #1 eye contact with a legend or with superior Samurai or Shogun; you were supposed to lower your gaze out of respect. #2 The evolution of bowing in three stages 🙇🙇‍♀️🙇‍♂️ 1. light bow when greeting friends or passing someone in a hallway; 2. then there is the 30 degree bow like when greeting customers or showing respect to someone of higher status. 3. And finally, there’s the deepest bow at 45 to 90 degrees reserved for legends or with higher levels superior Samurai or Shogun. Though you may be tempted to bow at a 120 degree it is not recommended, it could be taken as a sign of showing off? 4. Put the chair back after using it.
