  • In this video I wanted to discuss two different Insect Growth Regulators (IGRs) that I have used in the past and what I am currently using in my Mosquito Control company.
Insect growth regulators are an essential part of an Integrated Pest Management Program. They reduce insecticide resistance by using a different Mode of Action (MOA) for control.
Generally, IGRs are used in perimeter pest management programs, plant health care programs, and mosquito control programs. They are typically used when treating insects that have multiple generations a year.

It amazes me how many of these so-called Mosquito companies don't even use the correct products. Or use products that don't last long. Especially all these franchise companies.

At war with red wasps. Any tips on what to use? I have Cyzmic CS and Tekko. Truthfully I don’t think either one has done much to the wasps population.

Can you identify the nest? If so, I believe there is a product called delta dust that you use a duster to spray it into the nest hole.
      If not, I'd recommend Scion.

When do you use an igr I’m using lesco crosscheck which is the same as talstar p!! However do you spray the igr in springtime say April

I hoping to find an IGR that list mites. Do you have any suggestions?

I found this interesting article on IGRs. It looks like Pivot10 or tekko would work on mites but there are some different igrs that are better. There is a table that I found quite educational

The table shows products listed for greenhouse and nursery use. But, you would have to research the labels to see if they could be used in other sites.
I would also search those specific active ingredients and try and find a product.

The main thing with mites is product rotation. You want to rotate 3 different products with different mode of actions of control.

@@ElevateApplicateyou're not going to believe this but a friend of mine has those nasty little miniature fire ants the real tiny ones IN HER HOUSE .
I was over there Friday and got bit by a bunch of them on my hand and arm and the hand swelled up a little bit and was fever for 2 days .
We're not completely sure where they're coming from and they're hard to see since she has brown rugs everywhere but we also saw them in the kitchen they were coming up in between the stove and the countertop .
Looked at a channel where a guy talks about them and read the comments and people talking about how hard they are to get rid of outside -- well , in the home where she's got kids and several cats what a nightmare and I offered to help her since she's overwhelmed and works long hours and has kids with health issues .
I heard about Spinosad , somebody else mentioned orange oil with any dish soap in water and I did hear about Tango ... have you ever tried that ?
We don't really want to be using anything in her house that's not organic because of the kids health issues and also the pets ... plus they have a small dog .
Can you give any advice as she does not want an exterminator to come to her home and I promised I would help .
She's very weird about strangers being in her home .
