  • Wrap up the year with a thrilling movie marathon featuring P2, Night of the Comet, and Terror Train. Each film explores survival within the horror genre, whether it's navigating a Christmas Eve parking garage, facing a post-apocalyptic world after a comet, or dealing with a masked killer on a New Year's Eve train. These films offer a perfect mix of tension and resilience for a cinematic year-end experience.

Thanks for giving some love to "Night of the Comet." It's so slept on, and deserves to be discussed more frequently.

I Have Both Terror Train And Night Of The Comet Respectively On My TUBI Horror Playlist. Man 80's Horror Films Really Had It Going On At The Time.

P2 is an excellent film. I've always felt it was inspired by the TV movie "Lower Level" (1991) which I believe is free on CZcams to watch. See what you think. I'd love JoBlo to cover these more obscure hidden gems. Another is Trapped (1989) and Blackout (1985). These are forgotten classics that have never been made available on DVD or Blu-ray or as far as I know streaming services.

The 80s were the gold standard for horror.

Yes, there was something good playing at the local theater virtually every month of the entire decade...Nothing compares to the 80's. That was the last time the industry wasn't self conscious. Nobody cared what any critic said...if somebody wanted to make it, or somebody wanted to see it, then it got DONE...

I'm a big fan of P2 !!! I never do spam to be honest, but its just a coincidence that in 25th of December I posted a Thomas Barclay tribute (the villain from P2) and then you post a video about P2! What a coincidence
Anyway, really interesting video, I also like Terror Train.

If I were to put a movie in a time capsule to represent the 80s, I'd seriously consider Night of the Comet. It drips 80s.

Terror Train was a film a late-night TV Summer staple for years. I managed to catch it on TV every time it came on. Loved it; it's one of my favorite films. Despite it's abrupt ending, it is still a well produced film.
Hey, in your segment about the home video releases, you missed out saying that Scorpion Releasing released a remastered version of the film on Bluray that significantly boosted the colors and sharpness with repairs over Shout Factory's release. 88 Films released theirs shortly after Scorpion Releasing. Sadly you are right, 88-Films is the only version you can still get; but it is region B locked. Albeit, they went over the film with a noise-reduction algorithm that produced a sharper result.

Terror train was so much better than prom night idk why it gets more love the since of paranoia in it was something that really got to me even tho u knew who the killer was u never knew who he was cause of the use of multiple costumes

Terror Train no way much better than Prom Night. They are around the same but at least with Prom Night narrative moves forward, Terror Train running time is padding nothing interesting enough until the killer shows up.

I think Vanity (credited as DD Winters) is the prettiest girl in Terror Train....or any movie she's in as a matter of fact. I'll see your "Jamie Lee and Copperfield" and raise you a "Vanity and Hart Bochner" as the most aesthetically pleasing twosome . 😊👍🏽

I probably would have liked Terror Train more without JLC, because having her as the star sets (unreasonable) Halloween-level expectations. Nevertheless, it has a sort of ragged charm, although the only mask I found creepy was the Groucho mask.

Night of the Comet needed a secondary pass for sound- while the soundtrack is good, it was balanced poorly and loud music playing through almost the entire movie which was highly distracting and consistently overrode the dialogue. Good movie otherwise.
