Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus Low Temperature and Won't Charge - Note 10 Plus Won't Charge

  • Does your Galaxy Note 10 Plus say low temperature and won't charge?
    The problem that causes this lies in the Note 10's wireless charging coil. The coil is the home of the battery temperature gauge. This gauge isn't making a proper connection to the board, and sometimes just some well-placed tape can fix the issue.
    I'll show you how to repair this problem the Note 10+ has for about $15! This phone has had the issue for awhile, so I will be replacing the wireless coil, and the charging port board as they can quickly go bad from the poor connection. Let's get started!

    Just replaced mine through Asurion for the second time for this same issue. Low temp, charge stopped and no wireless charging. I'm done with replacements. If it happens again, which I am certain is gonna happen eventually, I am just going to repair it myself with the help of this video. I'll be certain after the repair it'll never be faulty again. I love everything about thephone minus this stupid little issue. Here's hoping the refurbisher put some extra tape in there during the refurb process on the one I have now!

    I've had the LOW temperature warning and once I've reseated the coil connector now the MOISTURE DETECTED error is only shown. I've replaced the USB port but the error remains. Is the new port now defective as well (from the temp gauge) and does the coil destroy the new port (if the coil isn't also replaced)?

    • @JoeDoesStuff
      @JoeDoesStuff  Před 3 lety

      The coil doesn't destroy the port, but the temp gauge is actually on the coil. You could have possibly gotten a faulty charge port. I would check the connection to the port, then possibly try another port.

      If you aren’t able to cleanly separate the adhesive then yes. I was able to get the back off with the adhesive in tact. So I just applied heat to get it sealed back.
      Either way it won’t be as water-resistant as from the factory. From the factory it’s vacuum sealed.

      @@JoeDoesStuff Hey man, I actually found a third-party repair service in my area that did the same service as what you show in the video, they did not have the charging port on hand but they had the wireless coil on hand; apparently mine had gotten unseated, but when they got mine seated again, it still wasn't working, and then they put in their replacement coil and theirs wasn't working either. Are you able to confirm with any certainty that it would be the charging port having gone bad as well like you mentioned in this video? They're ordering one for me, but I'd like to know if there are any other possibilities for this error. I like to be informed, especially when trusting strangers to do the work.

    • @JoeDoesStuff
      @JoeDoesStuff  Před 3 lety +1

      I can't tell you for sure in your case, but on the phone I fixed it seemed as though the poor connection affected the charging port also. That's why I replaced it as well. Generally when a connection is bad, the constant working/not working back and forth causes the board for the port to also fail. I would say probably yours will work once the port is replaced.

    • @JoeDoesStuff
      @JoeDoesStuff  Před 3 lety +1

      The phones are never waterproof. They are water resistant. If you replace the factory adhesive and give it the proper amount of cure time, usually 24 to 48 hrs, then it will be water resistant again.

    • @JoeDoesStuff
      @JoeDoesStuff  Před 2 lety +1

      No there’s no way. Reading the temp sensor is part of the processes for the phone to work. If you find a place that does micro soldering, they can fix it. Maybe $50-$100 fix.

If you look up the samsung s8 schematic, identify connectors at7007 and at7008 (part of the wireless charging connectors you mentioned). As long as you use the factory adhesive included with the back glass. I also recommend thoroughly heating the back glass to re-adhere it properly. Also make sure your new charge port has the red gasket ring on it, if not you will have to transfer it from the old port. Your water resistance will be retained. Although I never recommend anyone test the "water resistance" in their phone, before or after a repair.

    I've done some research and apparently this no charging issue can also be caused by the pad on the motherboard coming lose. I'm meaning the pad that the wireless coil connects to.
