The all-new Mazda CX-60 will arrive in the UK this autumn to expand Mazda’s award-winning SUV range. Joining the UK line-up above the ever-popular 2022 Mazda CX-5, the Mazda CX-60 flagship SUV is launched with Mazda’s first plug-in hybrid technology powertrain, which combines a Skyactiv-G 2.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine with a 100 kW electric motor and a 17.8 kWh high-capacity battery.
This combination of engine and motor delivers a total system output of 327ps and an abundant torque output of 500Nm - making it the most powerful road car Mazda has ever produced. Mazda’s first PHEV also displays outstanding environmental credentials with WLTP combined fuel consumption of 188mpg and WLTP combined CO2 emissions of only 33g/km.
The Mazda CX-60 e-Skyactiv PHEV offers 39 miles of combined electric motor-powered driving with the vehicle running at 62mph or less and 42 miles of city EV range, while the performance of the combined drivetrain delivers a 0-62mph performance of just 5.8 seconds.

The CX-60 (European specification model) is equipped with e-Skyactiv PHEV, Mazda's first plug-in hybrid system featuring a 2.5-liter in-line four-cylinder gasoline engine and an electric motor. Mazda dealerships in Europe started accepting pre-orders for the model on March 8 and sales are due to begin in summer 2022.
Mazda will begin production of the CX-60 at Hofu Plant No. 2 in Yamaguchi prefecture on March 11, 2022. The Japanese specification CX-60 is due to be introduced in early April.

Great to see that some brands keep normal screen and not oversize them. As I remember, this car get the automatic adjustement for the seat based on an internal camera. You should not have to adjust the seat yourself.

Thanks for a video! I'm tempted to try this car in Poland (got new mazda 3 - red one :)). You got perfect remark about east Europe and merge traffic method (zipper method) - good news is that in Poland this method is becoming standard (at least in Warsaw) but for sure that was not the case some time ago.

Great video, thank you. Here in the states, we will get the CX-70 and CX-90, thus far no information on either. Mazda is very tight-lipped for now, absolutely no information just rumors. I own the 2021 CX-9 and love it, looking at the CX-60 Mazda has stepped up their game. Can't wait!

Wow Mazda looks to have absolutely nailed it. CX5 have been our family. At of choice for years but this is CX60 is next level. Waiting patiently here in NZ for the release. We get everything last so no surprises there!

I was wondering if it offers the feature where the exterior mirrors fold down when you were going to parallel park to prevent scuffing the wheels? My current vehicle has that and I find it very useful, particularly with the passenger side mirror.

Now you have driven the car I am interested more in the adaptive cruise do you think it would have driven itself around those curves on the road, would the car recognise a curve or bend and automatically slow itself down? How predictive is the adaptive cruise? Greatly appreciate the review thanks. It will help me decide between this and the Nissan Ariya which has predictive cruise control.
How close to the BMW Driver assistant professional is this please?
I actually work at a Mazda plant. The adaptive cruise control actually does predict curves, bends and will slow down and adapt to all surrounding as long as you’re fully erect. If your flaccid it will take time to counter adapt.

I had the oportunity to drive this car today. I have CX30 as my daily driver. First thing i noticed it's very cramped in front seat. Wider middle console makes less space for legs even thou the car is much bigger then CX30. Second thig i've noticed, it's very unconfortable if You driving on a rough road. Third thing i've noticed the engine is very loud, much louder then my CX30. Another thing i've noted is the suspension makes vierd noises on rough road, electic engine also makes wierd noises. The car i loud in general. In normal mode is not much faster then my CX30. Definetley will not buy one. To bad, i though it will be a hit!

Appreciate that this might be a demo car, and the camera might be picking up some extra noise - but the one thing that comes across is the sheer amount of noise. Alot of tyre/wind noise and the traffic noise is loud as well.
Did they lessen the whining electric motor noise with full throttle?

Actually, at 17:19 - in reference to comment about some of eastern countries, there is already a law which we call zipper-law, that obeys us to follow this rule on the highway. So it is not as bad as it was :). Thanks for your review!

Sorry about my english but I hope you can undestand my message. I have a Mazda 3 and a VW Golf 7 and the BC of the Golf and the ammount of information provided is way superior. I am curios if in the CX60 the distance and time of de trip is still shown just for a few seconds after you turn off the engine: Also I would like to know if you can see the averege consumption separately for Trip A, Trip B and all time or just one avarege consumption. Actually, I'm curios if CX60 has a section of informations like in the VAG BC with all sort of informations like the temperature of the oil, trip distance, the duration of the current trip, averege consumption etc...Lastly, I'd like to know if the BC resets itself immediately after you turn off the engine or if the BC "remembers" the trip information if you restart the engine in a short time and continue your trip. Thank You!

Btw you dont have to set the speed manually. If the camera recognizes a speed limit you just have to push the RES button on the steering wheel and the car will set it by itself

Thank you for this info. I saw described in the spec sheet what I thought was this feature but I wasn’t sure as I hadn’t seen it mentioned in any reviews. BMW’s also do this and it is so handy.

Quick question, in the normal mode, how does the EV and Gas engine switch? if in local traffic, it is switch to EV mode itself? and on hwy at high speed the gas engine kicks in? I saw you switch the different modes on hwy, so this CX 60 can switch from EV to Gas like a Toyota Hybrid?

How is the driving (steering wheel particularly) as compared to the CX5? I like the stiffness of the Mazdas steering unlike others (assisted or electronic assisted)

If the display isn't touchscreen, how can you type in the location where you wana drive? If you have to use that round control button to select the letters, its kinda stupid and it will take a while. Anyway, the car looks awesome and i would defenetly pick this insted a Q5 or an X3 and 4

I'm a bit surprised by your feedback about suspension. Almost all reviews so far stated that suspension is kind of stiff. They were driving a pre-production car. Is this a different car?
It was same car actually and for me for a big heavy car like this the suspension did a great job. Depend with what you compare it 👍
Thanks for the nice review. I had an opportunity to view this case in person. I can say this car looks impressive. But I would like to make three points: a) fake exhausts is not what I would have wanted; b) the front door glass is not double-glass like in CX-5 and I do not know it may not be on par with it as far as noise level from outside. I guess it was done for economical reasons. Not good; c) the rare door, when closed gives off a hollow sound and not a solid thud. I did the same with my CX-5 and the sound is dampened and much nicer. I think it is because the car was extended and as such more sheet metal was used for the door, which in the end sound like a steel drum. Mazda needs to do something about it. These are my initial in person observations.

Great review of a beautiful SUV! Here in the USA we will be getting the CX70 instead of the CX60 but I believe there are only minor differences. I'm looking forward to the CX70 review. My decision may be between the Mazda CX70, Kia Sorento PHEV and Hyundai Santa Fe PHEV.

17:40 we have it too, in Eastern Europe , it's called the zipper rule but I think it's more like a gentlemen agreement or best practice if you like, I don't know if there is an official rule for that

Around 7l but over time you can get much better I guess
A german car dealer made a test drive over 100 km. City, Autobahn and country road. Consumption was in the end at 2,9 litres petrol and 21,9 kWh.

Just a general observation; Mazda has had some great HUD's for awhile. My 2019 CX9's is great. My 2021 Mazda3's was also great. Quite high quality compared to many brands.
