The more intimidating recipes are more true to the Korean style of cooking, she was missing a handful of ingredients for it to be a traditional bulgogi like hoisin, fish sauce, mirin, diced green onions not leeks as well as some diced white onion; also many Koreans cook the dish with chilies or another hot pepper. It may be intimidating however the product of going through all the steps makes some banging food.
@@tajaipaul891 I actually do put mirin in because I love the sweetness it gives it! I also use green onions instead of white because I prefer their flavor. But everything you said sounds delicious!
Most Koreans who made it from me make it the easy way and the way your thinking is the traditional way which most Koreans skip most of that part and the grandmas or moms make it that way if it’s for a occasion.. most Koreans eat out 😑 I was there two years and my best friend is Korean and I made friends with people who were rock army and katusa’s
It’s actually a real recipe the real way.. most Koreans don’t do the supposed traditional way lol.. seriously go to Korean and most Koreans eat out because it’s cheap, convenient and they work a lot..your thinking kimchi and even that’s easy but there’s a traditional way which involves anchovies and there’s a simple way
I actually grew up eating bulgogi and it's one of my favorite dishes. My family is as white as can be but my dad was stationed over seas when he was in the military and he loved this dish at the local restaurants he went to there so every year my mom makes it for Father's day
i ❤ making these dishes and my local store always has thin cut ribeye.. im eating beef way way too often now.. ive been lining spring rolls with it making street tacos, tosssing it in omelets.. obsessed..😊. bulgogi pizza..
Slice the meat against the grain. Ripe pears. Doesn't need to be Asian ones. Skip the leeks. Green onions is fine Do NOT crowd the pan with the beef. 1 slightly spread out layer at a time so it sears and doesn't steam You can also try brown sugar Personally, instead of having to finely mince everything, I use an immersion blender to puree the chopped marinade ingredients before adding the beef Also a good way to marinate thoroughly is to put it all in a gallon-size Ziploc bag and push all the air out of it before sealing it and lay on it's side in a baking dish in the fridge. The marinade penetrates everything without you having to turn it or 1 part being more marinated than others
This kind of content is much more comfortable than the recent videos that has so much "you know", something changed like the inuendos and it's not fun skl
If you don't have pear, use pineapple. It will have the same effect, plus things got sweeter and it will add depth to your final dish 😍
Pineapple fruit? Or juice?
And 🥝 also works too!
@@luckyskye55 preferably, the fruit itself. You can grate them or cut them. Whatever works for you.
@@jess7142 yup.. Same effect of that sweet and acidic effect 😁
You can use Papaya as well. (Preferably unripe)
Finally a bulgogi recipe that isn't too intimidating! My hubby and I love Korean BBQ and bulgogi, and I've been looking for a simple recipe forever!
