Is the Infinity Castle Movie Trilogy ACTUALLY Demon Slayer's End?

- Hello everyone! I am once again talking about the Infinity Castle Arc with a break down of why I think that the trilogy is NOT the end.
Ya'll as a reminder these are just my thoughts! We won't know until at least the first movie comes out (based off where it ends), so don't take me word as fact. I just like to make videos!

Ya’ll I totally did not catch during editing that the source I was using for chapter count has IC starting at 140 which is where the season ended so it’s still 43 chapters (give or take). IC might end somewhere other than 183 in the anime but I do think that’s a good cliffhanger. We will just have to wait and see 😅

The show's Japanese website refers to the trilogy movies as "Mugen Jyo Hen," meaning Infinite Castle Arc. The Japanese movie teaser visual also says this. I think the confusion around whether or not the trilogy would include Sunrise Countdown was caused by media outlets like Crunchyroll reporting that the trilogy is the "final battle." The show never actually stated that the trilogy is the "final battle."
The final arc being a season is the best option. The series started as a TV anime and it should end as a TV anime. I don't want to trust that leaker, no matter how reliable he is. The arc is most likely only getting announced in literally three years. It seems so early to know for sure in which format the series will end. Leakers make mistakes, I don't know how and where they get information, but it is always possible he misinterpreted something or only saw some ideas of the studio's plans that didn't go through, or at least that's what I'd like to believe. Announcing another movie after a movie trilogy is just weird. "Here you go, three movies! Oh now that they're done, here's another movie!". It makes much more sense they announce a season and market it as "The Final Season/Arc", gives a much better flow to the series than just having 4 movies at the end. And of course, as you mentioned, having a season means getting more extended and anime original scenes that are going to flesh out the ending even more than in the manga. A movie adaption isn't going to have much time to give additional scenes. Also, the leaker's information is basically already partially false. There is still going to be a Demon Slayer TV series. The movies are absolutely going to be adapted into TV anime episodes just like Mugen Train was, so there are going to be more seasons no matter what.
I agree with you, these next movies are mainly focused on the Infinity Castle arc and I do hope we get a season to wrap up Demon Slayer.
So, I'm going to use math and Mugen Train as a base for the following prediction:
Film 1: Vs Kaigaku & Vs Akaza
Film 2: Vs Douma & Vs Nakime
Film 3: Vs Kokukishibo & Vs Muzan inside the castle, castle destruction and exit
We will then have a Mugen Train Season experience and IC will be released in episodical format that will lead into Sunrise Countdown (just like Mugen Train) as the final season, since it's too long to be crammed into a film.
Mugen Train was 12 CHAPTERS and these are the following Chapter counts.
IC INTRO - 1 CHAPTER
VS KAIGAKU - 3 CHAPTERS
VS AKAZA - 10 CHAPTERS
VS DOUMA - 3 CHAPTERS (PART I & Moved to after UM3 fight, Tanjiro's crow would still deliver the "message", since it would be after the defeat of Akaza)
VS DOUMA - 7 CHAPTERS (PART II)
VS NAKIME - 1 CHAPTER
VS KOKUSHIBO - 15 CHAPTERS
VS MUZAN(CASTLE) - 4 CHAPTERS (PART I)
VS MUZAN - 22 CHAPTERS (PART II)
People are forgetting that there's a LOT of dialogue and backstories that take chapters in length in these last two arcs. And this is all not including anime only material. At times, Ufotable also animates 2 to 3 chapters per episode (20 min per episode), so a film can have anywhere between 12 to 18 chapters per two-hour film. It IS possible for them to put 60+ chapters into three films, but there's going to be a LOT of quality loss and rushed moments. And with Ufotable labeling the trilogy as solely Infinity Castle and not Final Arc or no mention of anything relating to Sunrise Countdown, I'm betting that SC will come after the trilogy as a season or two additional films. Unless, the three films are about 3 hours each.
This video gives me hope that there MIGHT be another season after the movie trilogy. I was honestly disappointed that the movie trilogy would be the ending of the series
The rest of the series can be adapted into the three movies with perfect pacing if they're 3 hours each. I'm hoping that the movies will just be Infinity Castle and then a final movie/season for the final arc. Otherwise, three 3-hour movies for the rest of the series = 27 episodes, so a 2.5 chapter/episode pacing just like Entertainment District got. (The average of the series as a whole excluding HTA is like ~2.2 chapters/episode).
I agree! I’ll probably just have to wait and see where the first movie leaves off. That’s when we will know for sure what they’re planning
Its a math problem. They can't possibly do the series justice in 3 movies. It would take 5 movies that are 2 to 2.5 hours long. My guess is 3 movies, and then the final arc will be a new season.
After Infinity Castle movie trilogy, we will get 2 more movies of sunrise countdown arc, i think.

Idk little side battles. The battles are very short anyways and im sure their able to fit it in the movies @bethanyhu1881

It’s never been referred to that? All I’ve seen is final battle. I think people are getting the wording mixed up.

I truly hope so. There is still hope in my book since it was just a leak that the series would end with movies.
And maybe,after the main storyline is complete,the two Rengoku spin off stories and Giyu spin off story could be either movies or OVAs.Plus the three light novels.
