I live in Hell's Kitchen too, and I think this is an accurate description. I'm one of those who doesn't really think it has much of a community/neighborhood vibe, but I live on the east side of the neighborhood -- closer to 8th Avenue and Tines Square, which may have something to do with that. As for the biggest perks: proximity and food. The biggest downside: near Times Square.
