Too young for solids, may be. Anyway, put the food inside the mouth. As it is, babies spit it out, so if you just touch the food to the lips, nothing is going to go in.
She probably was too young but very eager, now a 7y foodie who enjoys eating everything

Jahanne Belisle it was breast milk mixed with the cereal, of course it was liquid- she was 3,5months
Not a good idea to make a baby that young sit up. Too much pressure on the spine. The baby, any baby, should be able to sit up by himself/herself.
