#1 in Google search. Great foot rest mate. Cheers from Western Australia
Thank you very much and hello from UK
Its so Amazing
Thanks!
Looks great
1:25 Instead of using a hand saw, I just flip the board over, line the saw blade up and then finish the cut with miter saw. Then sand smooth if it is needed.
Thanks! Yea I have done that in the past which works well. I reached for the handsaw this time for some reason.
What a great idea and a very very good video thanks for sharing Phill 🍺🍺👍👍
Cheers Brian 👍🏻 much appreciated 👍🏻
Todays thoughts , if you put a few boards on the flat bottom side , you could turn it over and use it like a small rocking chair for your feet to help the old circulation when sitting for a long stretch ,, duel function at little or no extra cost ... just an idea.
Yes Tom I was thinking of doing just that. In the end I went with this design but I might make another one in future like what you mentioned.
Arrgggghh! Centimeteres versus Inches. Nice foot rest.
Cheers! Yea I'm always mixing up inches and cm.
Phill… your the master of make do and bend …I’m on this , making two , one for me and one for my wife ….like most people we’ve got shed loads of half used shoe and boot polish ( magic that ) got no bed slats..gunna use an old half scaffolding board off my shed roof ( was stopping felt from getting ripped off prior to repair) and repurposed pallet wood from my sons work ….I will keep you informed…keep thinking outside that box Phill….good luck Peter P
Thanks Peter 👍🏻😀 yea I do like to make use of scrap. For me it's more creative and satisfying. Good luck making yours. 🙂
Great job and project thx for sharing enjoyed it Keep building
Thanks again Larry 👍🏻
I have been binge watching your videos and shorts today
Never thought of using shoe polish to stain wood.
Yea I've been using it for years it works quite well. Also it can be much cheaper than conventional wax for wood. It's pretty much the same thing.
@@PhillWyattProjects Does it transfer for the colour to the carpet, or does it get absorbed by the wood ? Seems like a really good idea
@@paulcooper9187 it works just like normal wax for wood. You apply it then buff it and it's all sealed.
Nice idea Phil 👍
Cheers Andy 👍🏻
Great project once again Phill. 👏👏👏
Cheers David 👍🏻👍🏻
Very nice Phil I'm thinking of one for outside so the polish is just boot polish.
Thanks Gary 👍🏻 yea all I used was different boot polishes for the finishes.
@@PhillWyattProjects very nice
How far to slats over hang in supports…each side
Only around 1cm.
I like this project. And that's in spite of the fact that you didn't countersink your screw holes. Also, have you considered the possibility of adding some rubber or silicone feet to one of these foot rests to make it slip less on the floor?
Thanks👍🏻 countersinking and adding rubber feet would improve this project I agree.

I'd love to see how it would turn out if you did another one incorporating these elements. The first one was already pretty great. I could easily imagine getting a lot of use and comfort with one of these foot rests the way you made it, "as-is." That notwithstanding, if it was countersunk and made with grippy, anti-slip feet attached on the bottom? It would be truly stupendous. It'll be a thing of beauty. Something that'll inspire jealousy in observers, until you reveal that with a little bit of time and energy, and with the right materials and tools, they can have one as well.
Anyone use one like this, I have a cushiony foamy one and I thought about one like this because it looks nice, but seems like it wouldn't be very comfortable if you did not have shoes on?
I use it with socks and find it to be comfortable 👍🏻
