So with Aortic Valve Stenosis wouldnt you see an enlarged ventricular myocardium? Then you wouldnt be able to fill the ventricle with as much blood and isnt that characteristic of diastolic heart failure? Does one lead to the other?

I had this as the cardiologists “impression” of my nuclear stress test results. It said “Preserved LV Systolic function”
I googled and it said Heart failure!
I am 37 with 3 kids and I am nervous! But I think after my Graves’ disease is under control it should improve or at least not worsen. Hopefully anyway.

How does LV syst failure lead to pulmonary edema????
When the LV fails, that means that it can't pump all the blood out of the LV into the aorta and to the body. The blood goes backwards into the left atrium and then into the pulmonary veins. This back flow of blood eventually gets into the pulmonary system which causes edema. Heart failure is fluid overload and if there is too much fluid, it will go backwards so you can just trace it back. You can also think of it as a pressure system so the blood is going to lower pressure in the pulmonary area to escape the high pressure in the LV.
