Everyone ignored that NYSL should have 3-0 or 3-1 Optic last Major but they literally threw the series away. That has been the theme of NYSL though. But you hsve to admit they've been slowly getting better and it's certainly not unfathomable that they hit stride and figure it out at the end.
It's annoying that everyone says NYSL is so far behind the top 3 when they have consistently been playing top 3 teams extremely close. Also everyone forgets that NYSL 3-0d eliminated ultra major 2.
Paco is by FAR the most valuable player to his team and I don't think it's close. NY without hydra are 5th-12th fighting to make champs right now, but because Paco is putting up identical numbers to simp with much worse teammates they're competitive

These guys wake up at 12:06pm, get Chipotle, take a shower, scrim for 8 hours, then grind Val, Rocket League, etc. until 5am and repeat it all in that order. The CDL is a story of lazy players and wasted opportunities and the only way to fix it is to end it at this point.

Hot take: these players have always been “this bad” as Chris says they are this year. The only reason you can tell now is because the league is so top heavy. We don’t have a championship contending Seattle, optic now destroys unlike getting T6 every major, Rokkr isn’t competitive and ultra upgraded to contend for every major which is new. These are all just examples, I could go into more detail but I think I got my point across.
I agree, I also think the open bracket made for way more upset scenarios. Top teams only need to win a few matches to win a tournament now, and the only real negative is if you play a team hot off of losers finals or winners finals. Back in the day every day had so many matches, Swiss or pool play, then double elim, so I think those lower bracket runs mattered more because everyone was more fatigued. The team that really got rolling could beat anyone. The best players have been around the league for multiple iterations and aren’t teaming with as many new players, so I think young players are also having trouble building that confidence when it’s almost

I mean even the optic dynasty they admit to having never watched VoD. Sure they won a lot but arguably the last place team this year is probably putting in more practice and prep then the literal most successful team in CoD history. I don't know why the old generation acts like they practiced and prepped 14hrs a day, this is like our parents saying "I worked 80hr weeks and now you don't want to work 40" it's just exaggerated BS

I don’t necessarily agree with Haggy’s take on Drazah. Zack was the best player for LAT when he was first picked up with Venom in Cold War. That team was a shit show and I was begging for him to get another chance. He gets it in Vanguard and they win a chip. I know he is a grinder but he always had the talent. Always been a huge fan of his game.

@@box3ydoing anything at a high level 10+ hours a day will wear you out, especially with no recovery time. Eventually it just stops getting 100% better, your wrists tighten up/swell/pop. Figures start getting sore, trigger finger starts getting pain/can't play near as long.

I think NYSL has the money and is willing to pay Paco even if other teams try to match it. I also think that Paco flourishes under Sender and Dreal. He's comfortable with them, they're on the same page. I just feel like you build around him. It's your only shot to stay competitive as an org.

As i'm sure you know for the last couple of years the winner of the last major before champs went on to win champs straight after, that was obviously LAT and NYSL, another interesting fact they both in their world championship winning years finished the regular season in third place in the standings overall, the team right now who are third are Ultra! 👀 but if NYSL continue to look good and win major 4 they'll make up their 100+ point deficit with Ultra and might results withstanding be third in the standings once again and have chance to continue the b2b last major+champs streak and be b2b champs winners too! 👀
Just caught Optic on a bad day that’s it, plus Optic doesn’t take online matches seriously. Only with the other top 3 teams they do. But everyone else they just don’t care. They are secured for champs, they are chillin.
OpTic was already playing questionably to downright ass beginning the series, but the map 3 octane tank exploding on highrise attack checked them for the rest of the series.

Honestly legion played well and Optic dropped the ball. I’m a fan of Optic and tbh they just don’t play with the confidence they need to win. They clutch up sometimes but they are still inconsistent. I still feel like optic is maybe top 3 or 4. Faze generally has been a dominate force this year and they play with absolute confidence and make very intelligent plays. The only way optic wins is if they play like they did vs Toronto in the finals last major.
