Halo was ahead of its time but Unreal Tournament which released in 1999 was even earlier as it came with the Unreal Editor enabling you to edit out of the box maps and also create brand new maps. When I played UT2k3/4 competitively early 2000s the editor was vital for the competitive scene to create viable maps for competition.
The big difference for Halo was it was a map editor on a console game. They built an actual tool for end users. PC games tended to release their internal map editor with mouse and keyboard controls to end users. Very different things.

I agree with Chris. The argument about "first 15 seconds" os pretty dumb. SnD rounds dont last as long, so the start of the round is a large part of the round and more impactful to the outcome vs respawn modes where things are just far less structured in general.

If OpTic win Major 4, Shotzzy MVP. My man's impact on the game gets disrespected constantly. Ppl say KD is overrated but seem to always only look at stats when considering MVP. Without him this year, OpTic would not be in the same position.

They cut him off, but I agree with Pat on coaching staff of the year. I feel like looking at the Top 4 isn't fair for coaching since all of them are literally the best 16 players in the world. The only fair way is to look at teams that on paper are kinda weird, but perform well. Example, Miami. They had a good stage, then one really fucking bad one, then picking up ReeaL and changing their system, they got better than their Stage 1 performance, competing against Top 4 teams pretty well and beating almost every Bottom 8 team outside of LAT, which could also be in the argument for it. Yes the Top 4 is out of this world performing well and their coaches by not means are bad, but we also can't act like they couldn't have a lot of different coaching staffs and be bad. They could have Boston's coaching staff and probably be Top 6, if not still Top 4. The fact that Miami is having the year it has should be something they should talk about. I can also see a Top 4 team getting COTY too though, and I don't blame them, I just think the debate of a Bottom 8 team getting it instead.
Vegas would be another good example too, them mainly in Stage 1 and 2 though, Stage 3 was goofy.

Im really curious what a esports build would look like because of all the GA's like there's two guns people use no snipers and now the complaining of the propane tank. By the time the pros are done picking apart the game there won't be much of a game left.
