This is The Greatest Show on Earth, song #11 from Endless Forms Most Beautiful - now on piano! The high point and final song of Endless Forms Most Beautiful by Nightwish. It's really in my opinion the greatest song they've ever created.

I was so happy to hear Richard Dawkins's voice in the original this song as well. Richard Dawkins has been very influential to my wider worldview and with Tuomas Holopainen taking inspiration from him, it's like two things I'm passionate about being mixed together which is fantastic! Indeed, The Greatest Show On Earth is actually the title of Richard Dawkins's recent book! I'm so happy Tuomas found it so moving as these themes have moved me! The sense that you can appreciate the beauty of the universe without needing to look to anything supernatural - that's amazing. And it's why I support a number of these types of creators on Patreon.
Overall I think Endless Forms Most Beautiful, the album, and particularly The Greatest Show On Earth as its final song, really resonated with me and I can put this album up pretty high on my list of favourite Nightwish albums! Beautiful work on this album all around. Tuomas Holopianen has outdone himself with this song!

As a fellow pianist, aside from a few minutes from this track, I honestly didn't think it was possible to play the entire song. Another moment where I'm really happy to be wrong! But that must have taken some serious work.
(For the record, I agree that this is without question Nightwish's greatest achievement so far )

We priveliged few who won the lottery of birth, how dare we whine at pur inevitable return to that prior state!? From which the vast majority have never stirred. From so simple a beginning. Endless forms most beautiful and most wonderful. Have been, and are being... evolved.

I´m sorry to keep on bothering you, but I listen to it every day.. :) The other day I was listening to The Phantom of the Opera by Beethoven, and I found that in time 2:41 (in Beethoven´s version that lasts 9:21), the musical notes are the same as in this song in time 13:46! Did Nightwish copy Beethoven?? I didn´t know that!!! Do you know anything about this?

This song has the most appropriate title ever, whichever form it takes, and it shows it's your favourite one now. You made a terrific job, and an applause also to... Andrew! We have two Andrews now?! Yeee! XDD And to Olga. I really love that root that seems DNA. Seriously, this a masterpiece, pure art. I knew it would have been great but it's even better than I expected. I can't get enough of my favourite part: 9:15, "we are here to care for the garden...".
O.T.: sorry, but I have to tell you some good news on my part. As you know, Nightwish are touring here these days. I went to Italy and, well, I'll keep it short, I managed to talk with Tuomas. It was just a small "thank you, Tuomas, for everything, for the music" but it meant the world to me. It was a dream coming true. And when I came back here to Germany this Thursday I finally got my adorable Korg'WhatElse' SP-170DX!! Much better than the piano I have in Milano. I'm so happy!
P.S.: Don't cheat! You don't have really finished the album! What about Sagan? Ok, it's me who is cheating. :P

+Composer1992 Yeah, it is. Some say I;m biased to the "Every Form Most Beautiful" album because it's the first Nightwish album I really listened to, but I don't tend to think so. I've listened to their past stuff and genuinely think this is the peak of their work so far. I am damn glad I decided to actually listen to Endless Forms Most Beautiful though, I bought it for my wife since she's a huge Nightwish fan and a general metal head, but I had no plans to listen to it because I'm not really into a lot of modern metal. I'm sort of the reverse of most Metal fans, to me, the louder it is - the less I'm going to like it. But she played it while we were in the car and I fell in love. I may not like a lot of modern metal but the whole Symphonic metal thing? I can dig that. And all of the vocalists they've had are stunning! I actually was familiar with Tarja though, I remember when Chie (my wife) had me listen to their older stuff I was like "I swear I've heard this woman singing classical opera before..." Turns out I had. :P

This is fun to listen to, nice work. I'm not sure what guitar amp plug-in and drum program you're using but you could probably benefit from Superior Drummer if you don't already have it haha.
Actually Superior Drummer is what I used! I lack production finesse though...
