Good choice on the cast net size. I talked with the guys at Barracuda Nets and for the Tampa / Bradenton area they suggested a 10ft 3/8 as an overall workhorse net. It does take many ugly and funny throws throws to get it right, but once you figure it out it's a sense of accomplishment. I use a bait thrower for fishing in and around Mangroves.

Great video! I Really appreciate you sharing the info on catching bait. Mangrove shorelines are fairly shallow and makes me worry about hitting rocks, dragging bottom or getting stuck. I'm guessing your boat is drafting about 14"? Do you find yourself in water less than 2' often when bait fishing? Your 23' Pathfinder seems like the perfect do everything boat for down here in the Keys, do you ever find yourself wanting something a little longer (25') or something with a shallower draft? Thanks!

Hi there. This question is not directly related to this particular video, however I wonder why it is that the only fish that you bleed immediately upon catching tuna? Any fresh cut fish will taste better if bled immediately. I live on the east coast of Canada and have been involved in the fishery my entire life both professionally and for pleasure. I know that of which I speak. Love your videos

If you could do a video on rod and reel setup / sizing for back country vs tuna... string type and color... hooks. That would be education for a beginner like me. I’m shopping for some combos now, thinking penn battle 3 5000 for back country and 8000 for tuna days... but that’s just my best guess 🤷‍♂️
