    Thanks for doing this video. I didn't realise you can see the fan when you take the glovebox out. I know I'll have to replace it eventually but I may be able to get it going again for a time with some silicone spray. Crazy hot here ATM in Australia.

    I was stuck at that back screw, then saw this video and another where you just broke it off. I said FK it, did the same. Seals just fine with 4 other screws. Thanks.

    We have the same xc90 and one year apart. This weekend I'm gonna grease the steering u joints. You'll probably need to also because it gets stiff and squeaks. It's not the pump but the two u joints under the driver carpert. There's a youtube video

    I didn't see why you needed to remove the glovebox. Are some of the fan screws not accessible from under?

    Hi, i change that motor too and the fift torx screw was in impossible place. In put there little a bit sealing silicone and put back whole thing by four screws. Do you know how they do that in official Volvo service?

    thanks for the video, Wade.. i just did all you said, and greased the motor bearing on both sides and works as good as new... was a pain to get it back in, though.... to pay it forward... you mentioned you have no AWD.. i have a 2005 with same issue....and I think I know what the problem is... with the car parked and off, climb underneath the driver door, and stick hand in and try to turn the rear propeller shaft..its not supposed to turn, while in Park..... if it turns freely (like mine does), it very likely means the collar is stripped that connects the transmission shaft to the angle gear.... the angle gear could be stripped but its unlikely, since this collar up to the 2005s, were weak and strip. I haven't replaced it yet, but it will require removing the angle gear, pulling off this collar, and replacing... kind of a pain and is why I havent done it and Id have my indie mechanic do so but he isn't familiar with it and automatically says to get a used angle gear, when I know that isn't it. good luck

    • @diclemeg
      @diclemeg Před 3 lety

      @@WadeFall so its either this "collar" that is stripped, or the angle gear is stripped... apparently its usually the former.

    • @WadeFall
      @WadeFall  Před 2 lety

      Thank you. So the sleeve was stripped and it is a pain to do. My grandpa and I had to grind grooves into the sleeve to pull it out because, it was stuck I mean stuck in the transmission. I got the new one put in and I thought it was working until I tried to get into the driveway with snow on the ground, this month. My back wheels never kicked in. However, the propeller shaft does not turn in park, which is good. I have no codes for anything not working therefore, this is going to be a fun game of is this the problem.

    AWD can be turned off for a number of reasons, clock spring in steering wheel and Yaw Sensor in floor i believe are common to fail on the XC90 and cause no AWD

    • @supermario680
      @supermario680 Před 3 lety

      @@WadeFall I'm not positive, but my GF bought one a few years ago with AWD disabled too, guy said it was BC of clock spring in steering wheel (senses steering wheel position), that combined with yaw sensor both are used with AWD system so if there is an issue with either that will usually do it. I THINK It will show up on a code if scanned by dealer
